The incredible progress in technologies has drastically increased the usage of Web *** share their credentials like userid and password or use their smart cards to get authenticated by the application *** cards are handy to use,but they are susceptible to stolen smart card attacks and few other notable security *** prefer to use Web applications that guarantee for security against several security attacks,especially insider attacks,which is *** of several existing schemes prove the security pitfalls of the protocols from preventing security attacks,specifically insider *** paper introduces LAPUP:a novel lightweight authentication protocol using physically unclonable function(PUF)to prevent security attacks,principally insider *** PUFs are used to generate the security keys,challenge-response pair(CRP)and hardware signature for designing the *** transmitted messages are shared as hash values and encrypted by the keys generated by *** messages are devoid of all possible attacks executed by any attacker,including insider *** is also free from stolen verifier attacks,as the databases are secured by using the hardware signature generated by *** analysis of the protocol exhibits the strength of LAPUP in preventing insider attacks and its resistance against several other security *** evaluation results of the communication and computation costs of LAPUP clearly shows that it achieves better performance than existing protocols,despite providing enhanced security.

Sequential Damming Induced Winter Season Flash Flood in Uttarakhand Province of india

204 persons were killed while two hydropower projects located in close proximity at Rishiganga(13.2 MW),and Tapoban(520 MW)were damaged in Dhauliganga flood of February 7,2021 in the indian *** incidence occurred during the winter season when the discharge of the glacier fed rivers is minimal,and no rain was experienced in the region around the time of the *** discharge of the main river,Rishiganga,not involved in the flood due to damming upstream of its confluence with Raunthi Gadhera,based on field evidences massive volume of around 6 million cu m water involved in this flood is attributed to sequential intermittent damming at three different places;(i)Raunthi Gadhera was dammed first in its upper reaches,(ii)Rishiganga river was then dammed to the north of Murunna,and(iii)finally Dhauliganga river was dammed around Rini village to the upstream of its confluence with Rishiganga *** warning system only enhanced the flood-induced *** binding disaster risk assessment regime,together with robust warning generation,and dissemination infrastructure are therefore recommended for all major infrastructure projects.

Sapphirine granulites from Panasapattu,Eastern Ghats belt,india:Ultrahigh-temperature metamorphism in a Proterozoic convergent plate margin

We report equilibrium sapphirine ＋ quartz assemblage in biotite-orthopyroxene-garnet granulites from a new locality in Panasapattu of Paderu region in the Eastern Ghats granulite belt, which provide new evidence for ultrahigh-temperature （UHT） metamorphism at 1030-1050 ℃ and 10 kbar in this region. The development of migmatitic texture, stabilization of the garnet-orthopyroxene- plagioclase-K-feldspar association, prograde biotite inclusions within garnet and sapphirine as well as sapphirine and cordierite inclusions within garnet in these granulites indicate that the observed peak assemblages probably formed during prograde dehydration melting of a Bt-Sill-Qtz assemblage, and constrain the prograde stage of the p--T path. The core domains of orthopyroxene porphyroblasts have up to w（Al203） 9.6%, which suggest that the temperatures reached up to 1150 ~C suggesting extreme crustal metamorphism. These conditions were also confirmed by the garnet-orthopyroxene thermobar- ometery, which yields a p--T range of 1012--960 ~C and 9.4 kbar. The p--T phase topologies computed using isochemical sections calculated in the model system Na20-CaO-K20--FeO-MgO-A1203-SiO2 --H2O （NCKFMASH） for metapelites, garnet-free sapphirine granulites and garnet-bearing sapphirine granulites match the melt-bearing assemblages observed in these rocks. Isochemical sections constructed in the NCKFMASH system for an average sub-aluminous metapelite bulk composition, and contoured for modal proportions of melt and garnet, as well as for the compositional isopleths of garnet, predict phase and reaction relations that are consistent with those observed in the rocks. Garnet and orthopyroxene contain Ti-rich phlogopite inclusions, suggesting formation by prograde melting reactions at the expense of phlogopite during ultrahigh-temperature conditions. The decision by Japan to begin discharging the Fukushima wastewater into the ocean on August 24,2023 was followed by protests from several countries,including China,Russia,Korea,Vietnam,and deep concerns from the international *** decision is related to the aftermath of the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster that occurred in 2011,which destroyed the cooling system of the nuclear power plant and caused the reactor cores to *** water was used to cool down the reactors fuel rods;about 1.3 million cubic meters contaminated water with highly radioactive material was generated,which can fill more than 500 Olympic swimming pools[1].In order to reduce the levels of radioactivity,an Advanced Liquid Processing System(ALPS)was used to remove most radioactive contaminants from *** works by circulating water through a system of tanks and filters,which removes specific contaminants such as cesium and strontium,using a multi-step process that includes coagulation,flocculation,ion exchange,and absorption[1].Japan's government and some scientists have argued that the ALPS-treated water is safe for release into the *** to their claims,the discharged water poses minimal risk to human health and the ***,concerns about the long-term effects of this discharge remain in scientists′minds.

An investigation has been carried out in the vicinity of the coastal villages of Kanyakumari District,india to decode the influence of coastal geomorphology on inundation degree and run-up *** though the tsunami waves approach the study area in different patterns,the consequences are found to be mainly dependent upon the coastal configuration and local geographic setting,the study area are considered to be of three types based upon the geomorphic arrangement,namely shallow coast,elevated coast and estuarine *** inundation and run-up level vary from coast to coast even though there is no remarkable variation in the intensity of the approaching tsunami *** inundation extent ranges from to 54 m to 413 m with maximum along estuarine coast and minimum along elevated *** coast recorded the maximum run-up level of about 6 m and the minimum of about 1 m along the elevated *** percentage of inundated area in the total coastal area varies between 19% to 10% along estuarine coast and elevated coast *** and run-up level cannot be appreciable in the inland along the elevated *** beaches of elevated coast are less affected whereas those of estuarine coast are highly *** is limited in the elevated beaches along the study area.

Optimization of Threshold Ranges for Rapid Flood Inundation Mapping by Evaluating Backscatter Profiles of High Incidence Angle SAR Images

Rapid satellite-based flood inundation mapping and delivery of flood inundation maps during a flood event can provide crucial information for planners and decision makers to prioritize relief and rescue operations. The present study is undertaken to optimize the threshold ranges for the classification of flood water in Synthetic Aperture Radar(SAR) images(of 20° to 49° incidence angles) for quick flood inundation mapping and response during flood disasters. This is done through assessing the signature of flood water in Horizontal transmit and Horizontal received(HH), Horizontal transmit and Vertical received(HV), Vertical transmit and Horizontal received(VH), and Vertical transmit and Vertical received(VV) polarization radar data. The mean backscattering signature profiles of various water bodies were analyzed to discriminate flood water from other water bodies. The study shows that there is better demarcation of land-water surface in HH polarization. VV polarization has the potential to identify partially submerged features, which can be useful in flood damage assessments. The backscatter of flood water in HV and VH is the same and both HV and VH polarizations are adequate for the mapping of flood water. At near range to far range,-8 to-12 d B,-15 to-24 d B, and-6 to-15 d B can be used as optimum ranges for the classification of flood water in HH, HV, and VV polarizations. These optimum threshold ranges can be applied to the automation of flood mapping using SAR images in near-real time, where much time was often spent on finding the thresholds in order to produce flood inundation maps in a short time from the onset of flood disasters and deliver such maps to the concerned agencies.

Analysis of Epimetamorphic Rock Slopes Using Soft Computing

This article adopts three soft computing techniques including support vector machine(SVM), least square support vector machine(LSSVM) and relevance vector machine(RVM) for prediction of status of epimetemorphic rock slope. The input variables of SVM, LSSVM and RVM are bulk density, height, inclination, cohesion and internal friction angle. There are 53 datasets which have been used to develop the SVM, LSSVM and RVM models. The developed SVM, LSSVM and RVM give equations for prediction of status of epimetemorphic rock slope. The performance of SVM, LSSVM and RVM is 100%. A comparative study has been presented between the developed SVM, LSSVM and RVM. The results confirm that the developed SVM, LSSVM and RVM are effective tools for prediction of status of epimetemorphic rock slope.

The availability of nitrogen(N)is crucial for both the productivity of terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems ***,the overuse of artificial fertilizers and the energy required to fix nitrogen have pushed the global nitrogen cycle(N-cycle)past its safe operating limits,leading to severe nitrogen pollution and the production of significant amounts of greenhouse gas nitrous oxide(N2O).The anaerobic ammonium oxidation(anammox)mechanism can counteract the release of ammonium and N2O in many oxygenlimited situations,assisting in the restoration of the homeostasis of the Earth’s N *** this work,we looked into the characteristics of the anammox hotspots’distribution across various types of ecosystems *** hotspots are present at diverse oxic-anoxic interfaces in terrestrial systems,and they are most prevalent at the oxic-anoxic transition zone in aquatic *** on the discovery of an anammox hotspot capable of oxidizing ammonium anoxically into N2 without N2O by-product,we then designed an innovative concept and technical routes of nature-based anammox hotspot geoengineering for climate change,biodiversity loss,and efficient utilization of water *** 15 years of actual use,anammox hotspot geoengineering has proven to be effective in ensuring clean drinking water,regulating the climate,fostering plant and animal diversity,and enhancing longterm environmental *** sustainable biogeoengineering of anammox could be a workable natural remedy to resolve the conflicts between environmental pollution and food security connected to N management.
