Chaetoceros Ehrenberg is one of the most diverse genera of planktonic *** species in section Chaetoceros are characterized by cells and setae having numerous chloroplasts and being widely ***,the delimitations of some species are problematic because of limited morphological information in the classical *** strains of the section Chaetoceros were established,morphological features were studied using light and electron microscopy,and the hypervariable D 1-D 3 region of the nuclear ribosomal large subunit gene was sequenced to address phylogenetic *** species belonging to the section Chaetoceros were recorded,including two new species,*** *** *** *** hainanensis was characterized by straight chains,narrowly lanceolate to hexagonal apertures,sibling setae diverging in nearly right angles,stipule-shaped spines on terminal setae and arrowhead-shaped spines on intercalary *** had short straight chains,narrowly lanceolate apertures,arrowhead-shaped spines and circular poroids arranged in a grid pattern on terminal and intercalary *** phylogenetic analyses revealed six groups formed by 19 species within the section Chaetoceros,which was found to be *** subdivision of the section is still not well *** morphological characters within each group varied considerably and molecular information on more species are needed to enrich the phylogenetic profiling.

Adhesion of Technical Lignin-Based Non-Isocyanate Polyurethane Adhesives for Wood Bonding

Lignin is the most abundant aromatic natural polymer,and receiving great attention in replacing various petro-leum-based *** aim of this study is to investigate the feasibility of technical lignin as a polyol for the synthesis of non-isocyanate polyurethane(NIPU)adhesives to substitute current polyurethane(PU)adhesives that have been synthesized with toxic isocyanate and *** hardwood kraft lignin(C-HKL)was extracted from black liquor from a pulp mill followed by acetone fractionation to obtain acetone soluble-HKL(AS-HKL).Then,C-HKL,AS-HKL,and softwood sodium lignosulfonate(LS)were used for the synthesis of technical lignin-based NIPU adhesives through carbonation and polyamination and silane as a *** adhesion per-formance was determined for *** spectra showed the formation of urethane bonds and the reaction between lignin and *** NIPU adhesives prepared with C-HKL showed the highest adhesion strength among the three lignin-based NIPU *** the silane addition level increased,the adhesion strength of NIPU adhesives increased whereas formaldehyde emission decreased for all NIPU adhesives *** results indicate that NIPU adhesives based on technical kraft lignin have a great potential as polyol for the synth-esis of bio-based NIPU adhesives for wood bonding.

Influence of the Atlantic Multidecadal Oscillation and Interdecadal Pacific Oscillation on Antarctic surface air temperature during 1900 to 2015

The importance of the Atlantic Multidecadal Oscillation(AMO)and Interdecadal Pacific Oscillation(IPO)in influencing zonally asymmetric changes in Antarctic surface air temperature(SAT)has been ***,previous studies have primarily concentrated on examining the combined impact of the contrasting phases of the AMO and IPO,which have been dominant since the advent of satellite observations in *** study utilizes long-term reanalysis data to investigate the impact of four combinations of+AMO+IPO,–AMO–IPO,+AMO–IPO,and–AMO+IPO on Antarctic SAT over the past 115 ***+AMO phase is characterized by a spatial mean temperature amplitude of up to 0.5℃over the North Atlantic Ocean,accompanied by positive sea surface temperature(SST)anomalies in the tropical eastern Pacific and negative SST anomalies in the extratropical-mid-latitude western Pacific,which are indicative of the+IPO *** Antarctic SAT exhibits contrasting spatial patterns during the+AMO+IPO and+AMO–IPO ***,during the–AMO+IPO period,apart from the Antarctic Peninsula and the vicinity of the Weddell Sea,the entire Antarctic region experiences a warming *** most pronounced signal in the SAT anomalies is observed during the austral autumn,whereas the combination of–AMO and–IPO exhibits the smallest magnitude across all the *** wavetrain excited by the SST anomalies associated with the AMO and IPO induces upper-level and surface atmospheric circulation anomalies,which alter the SAT ***,downward longwave radiation anomalies related to anomalous cloud cover play a crucial *** the future,if the phases of AMO and IPO were to reverse(AMO transitioning to a negative phase and IPO transitioning to a positive phase),Antarctica could potentially face more pronounced warming and accelerated melting compared to the current observations.

Study of factors influencing the occurrence rate of 60 Hz power line radiation in the topside ionosphere:A systematic survey using the CSES satellite

We analyze the topside ionosphere power line radiation(PLR)at 60 Hz over the US using electric field data collected by CSES satellite between January 2019 and December *** study aimed to further investigate the month-to-month variation characteristic of PLR occurrence rate observed by satellite and its several influencing factors,including solar radiation,lightning activity,and try to clarify the influence of electricity *** results show that the solar radiation(solar zenith angle and F10.7)plays a major role in the variation of the PLR occurrence rate,and that there is no direct connection with the number of *** the relationship between PLR occurrence rate and electricity consumption,the low occurrence rate associated with decreased weekend electricity consumption was not observed in the ***,there is a significant difference in PLR occurrence rate between the East and West Coasts of the US at the same latitude during the same time period,suggesting that the significant difference in PLR occurrence rate is caused by the significant difference in electricity consumption between the two *** excluding the effect of solar radiation on PLR occurrence rate,we concluded that only a significant difference in regional electricity consumption could lead to a corresponding change in PLR occurrence rate detected by the Low-Earth-Orbit ***,we also found there is seasonal variation in the diurnal differences of the PLR occurrence rate caused by seasonal variation of the lower ionosphere.

Joint observations of the large-scale ULF wave activity from space to ground associated with the solar wind dynamic pressure enhancement

This study reports the rare ultralow-frequency(ULF) wave activity associated with the solar wind dynamic pressure enhancement that was successively observed by the GOES-17(Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite) in the magnetosphere, the CSES(China Seismo-Electromagnetic Satellite) in the ionosphere, and the THEMIS ground-based observatories(GBO) GAKO and EAGL in the Earth's polar region during the main phase of an intense storm on 4 November 2021. Along with the enhanced-pressure solar wind moving tailward, the geomagnetic field structure experienced a large-scale change. From dawn/dusk sides to midnight, the GAKO, EAGL, and GOES-17 sequentially observed the ULF waves in a frequency range of0.04–0.36 Hz at L shells of ~5.07, 6.29, and 5.67, respectively. CSES also observed the ULF wave event with the same frequency ranges at wide L-shells of 2.52–6.22 in the nightside ionosphere. The analysis results show that the ULF waves at ionospheric altitude were mixed toroidal-poloidal mode waves. Comparing the ULF waves observed in different regions, we infer that the nightside ULF waves were directly or indirectly excited by the solar wind dynamic pressure increase: in the area of L-shells~2.52–6.29, the magnetic field line resonances(FLRs) driven by the solar wind dynamic pressure increase is an essential excitation source;on the other hand, around L~3.29, the ULF waves can also be excited by the outward expansion of the plasmapause owing to the decrease of the magnetospheric convection, and in the region of L-shells ~5.19–6.29, the ULF waves are also likely excited by the ion cyclotron instabilities driven by the solar wind dynamic pressure increase.

During our investigation of diatom biodiversity in Xizang,two species exhibited unique morphological features discriminative from all previously known *** we describe these two species and describe as new the genus,Spargeria *** new genus features narrow to wide rectangular valves,narrow valve mantles,filiform raphe branches that occur on the valve face only,terminal raphe fissures straight or slightly deflected to same side,bow-tie shaped central areas,chambered striae present on the valve face only,being absent from the mantle,wider striae near the axial area and very narrow near the margin,multiseriate striae with small and round areolae that are occluded ***,Spargeria zhuii *** larger and robust valves,radiate striae,with one divergent stria near the apices,while Spargeria chenia *** smaller,with narrow valves,striae slightly radiate in the middle,becoming convergent or parallel near *** new genus belongs to the family Pinnulariaceae,and it was compared and contrasted with other genera of this *** work suggests the need for continued studies to document the biodiversity of diatoms in Xizang.

Multiscale observation in wide-spatial radar surveillance based on coherent FDA design

Wide-spatial radar surveillance missions are challenging tasks, requiring an increased power budget and agility in transmission aimed at extracting information from multiple targets in different environments. These requirements necessitate high transmitting degrees of freedom(DOF) to achieve the objective of multiscale observation for specific tasks in specialized regions of interest. Herein, we exploit the multiscale observation ability in wide-spatial radar surveillance based on frequency diverse array(FDA)radar. The proposed method facilitates spatial anisotropic control of multiple radar resources, including the transmitting waveforms, beampattern, and bandwidth. By utilizing a coherent FDA radar, we offer principles for the selection of baseband waveforms, in addition to the quantitative design of the beampattern gain and optimal bandwidth from the perspective of detection. The feasibility of the proposed method is validated through numerical experiments, thus indicating the potential in wide-spatial radar surveillance. Moreover,this work can be regarded as a preliminary attempt to gauge the efficacy of the computational array, a novel academic concept.

Projections of summer light rain frequency in typical terrain over eastern China under wind speed constraint

The variation in near-surface wind speed is a key dynamic parameter in the orographic effect of precipitation over eastern *** this study,we used the latest high-resolution outputs from six GCMs in CMIP6-HighResMIP to evaluate the performance of high-resolution models in simulating the orographic precipitation characteristics of typical mountainous areas in summer over eastern *** orographic precipitation under warming scenarios was projected and constrained according to observational *** results indicated that during the contemporary climate reference period(1979-2009),although the relationship between model-simulated near-surface wind speed and orographic light rain frequency was consistently stable,the sensitivity of the orographic light rain frequency to surface wind variability was generally underestimated,with a deviation approximately 24.1% lower than the observational *** estimated orographic light rain frequency corrected based on the observed near-surface wind speed under a 1.5℃ warming scenario,was 36.1% lower than that of the contemporary period;this reduction was 8.6 times that without the wind speed constraint(4.2%).The MRI-AGCM3-2-S model,with a longer dataset,demonstrated relatively stable reductions in orographic light rain frequency under different warming scenarios(1.5℃,2℃,3℃,and 4℃)after the application of wind speed *** all cases,the reductions exceeded those for the predictions made without the wind speed constraint.

The facile reconfiguration of phases plays a pivotal role in enhancing the electrocatalytic production of H2 through heterostructure *** chemical methods have been explored extensively for this purpose,plasma-based techniques offer a promising avenue for achieving heterostructured ***,the conventional plasma approach introduces complexities,leading to a multi-step fabrication process and challenges in precisely controlling partial surface structure modulation due to the intricate interaction *** our pursuit of heterostructures with optimized oxygen evolution reaction(OER)behavior,we have designed a facile auxiliary insulator-confined plasma system to directly attain a Ni_(3)N-NiO heterostructure(hNiNO).By meticulously controlling the surface heating process during plasma processing,such approach allows for the streamlined fabrication of hNiNO *** resulting nano-framework exhibits outstanding catalytic performance,as evidenced by its overpotential of 320 mV at a current density of 10 mA·cm^(-2),in an alkaline *** stands in stark contrast to the performance of NiO-covered Ni_(3)N fabricated using the conventional plasma method(sNiNO).Operando plasma diagnostics,coupled with numerical simulations,further substantiates the influence of surface heating due to auxiliary insulator confinement of the substrate on typical plasma parameters and the formation of the Ni_(3)N-NiO nanostructure,highlighting the pivotal role of controlled surface temperature in creating a high-performance heterostructured electrocatalyst.
