How does the 120-year cycle mast seeding of dwarf bamboo affect the rodent population?

Background:In 2017,large-scale flowering,seeding,and dying events of dwarf bamboo(sasa borealis)occurred in a wide range in central Japan for the first time in 120 *** phenomenon of ***,like the mast seeding of trees,could be expected to provide a large amount of food for seed-eating rodents and gradually affect their ecology and population *** captured rodents in survey plots in a secondary broad-leaved forest with the phenomenon from 2018 to 2019 to investigate the species,the number of individuals,growing stage,sex,and body *** addition,we also compared the capture data for 2 years(2018–2019)with that for the mast seeding year(2017)and 6 years before it(2011–2016).Results:The mast seeding of *** greatly increased the population size of rodents,especially Apodemus speciosus and ***,Eothenomys smithii did not show such an *** of the captured rodent individuals were already adults at the time of new capture,and the proportion of male juveniles was extremely *** results suggest that the mast seeding of *** created unusually rich food availability for the population concentration of rodents due to their ***,body mass was not significantly different before and after the mast *** addition,the increased populations of the two Apodemus species did not decline 2 years after the *** masting,contrary to the previously reported decrease of rodent populations after tree ***:Our results indicate that the mast seeding of *** affected the population dynamics of Apodemus species over a long time and their individual composition of different growth ***,it did not affect their body mass.

The development of vehicle integrated photovoltaics-powered electric vehicles (VIPV-EV) significantly reduces COsub>2sub> emissions from the transport sector to realize a decarbonized society. Although long-distance driving of VIPV-EV without electricity charging is expected in sunny regions, driving distance of VIPV-EV is affected by climate conditions such as solar irradiation and temperature rise of PV modules. In this paper, detailed analytical results for effects of climate conditions such as solar irradiation and temperature rise of PV modules upon driving distance of the VIPV-EV were presented by using test data for Toyota Prius and Nissan Van demonstration cars installed with high-efficiency InGaP/GaAs/InGaAs 3-junction solar cell modules with a module efficiency of more than 30%. The temperature rise of some PV modules studied in this study was shown to be expressed by some coefficients related to solar irradiation, wind speed and radiative cooling. The potential of VIPV-EV to be deployed in 10 major cities was also analyzed. Although sunshine cities such as Phoenix show the high reduction ratio of driving range with 17% due to temperature rise of VIPV modules, populous cities such as Tokyo show low reduction ratio of 9%. It was also shown in this paper that the difference between the driving distance of VIPV-EV driving in the morning and the afternoon is due to PV modules’ radiative cooling. In addition, the importance of heat dissipation of PV modules and the development of high-efficiency PV modules with better temperature coefficients was suggested in order to expand driving range of VIPV-EV. The effects of air-conditioner usage and partial shading in addition to the effects of temperature rise of VIPV modules were suggested as the other power losses of VIPV-EV.

Potential significance of CX3CR1 dynamics in stress resilience against neuronal disorders

Recent findings have implicated inflammatory responses in the central nervous system in a variety of neuropsychiatric and neurodegenerative diseases,and the understanding and control of immunological responses could be a major factor of future therapeutic strategies for neurological ***,derived from myelogenous cells,respond to a number of stimuli and make immune responses,resulting in a prominent role as cells that act on inflammation in the central nervous ***(FKN or CX3CL1)signaling is an important factor that influences the inflammatory response of *** receptor for FKN,CX3CR1,is usually expressed in microglia in the brain,and therefore the inflammatory response of microglia is modified by ***,FKN often suppresses inflammatory responses in microglia and activation of its receptor may be effective in the treatment of inflammatory neurological ***,it has also been suggested that inflammatory responses facilitated by FKN signaling aggravate neurological ***,further studies are still required to resolve the conflicting interpretation of the protective or deleterious contribution of microglial FKN *** notably,regulation of FKN signaling has recently been shown to be beneficial in the treatment of human diseases,although not neurological *** addition,a CX3CR1 inhibitor has been developed and successfully tested in animal models,and it is expected to be in human clinical trials in the *** this review,I describe the potential therapeutic consideration of microglial CX3CR1 dynamics through altered FKN signaling.

Aiming at the problem that the existing models have a poor segmentation effect on imbalanced data sets with small-scale samples,a bilateral U-Net network model with a spatial attention mechanism is *** model uses the lightweight MobileNetV2 as the backbone network for feature hierarchical extraction and proposes an Attentive Pyramid spatial Attention(APsA)module compared to the Attenuated spatial Pyramid module,which can increase the receptive field and enhance the information,and finally adds the context fusion prediction branch that fuses high-semantic and low-semantic prediction results,and the model effectively improves the segmentation accuracy of small data *** experimental results on the CamVid data set show that compared with some existing semantic segmentation networks,the algorithm has a better segmentation effect and segmentation accuracy,and its mIOU reaches 75.85%.Moreover,to verify the generality of the model and the effectiveness of the APsA module,experiments were conducted on the VOC 2012 data set,and the APsA module improved mIOU by about 12.2%.

Effect of fiber-reinforcement on the mechanical behavior of sand approaching the critical state

several types of ground improvement methods that employ fiber-reinforcement have been developed in recent years.A series of consolidated drained triaxial compression tests has been conducted here to examine the effect of short fibers on the mechanical properties of Toyoura *** with 0%,0.2%,0.4%,and 1%fiber contents,prepared to yield random distribution,was sheared under several confining pressures and controlled via their initial relative *** test results showed that the maximum and residual deviatoric stresses increased,whereas the volumetric expansion decreased with an increase in fiber *** the stress ratio h(=q/p′)and specific volume changed depending on the fiber content and confining pressure with shear progression,they each reached the same values for a definite fiber content at the end of shearing,independent of initial relative *** other words,the unique critical state line can be found for a definite fiber ***,the greater the fiber content,the larger the slope of the critical state line at the end of ***,as the length of fibers shortened with the same percentage of fiber inclusions in sand,the deviatoric stress and the stress ratio decreased,approaching the shear-strain-volumetric response of unreinforced sand.

In the early stage of software development,a software requirements specification(sRs)is essential,and whether the requirements are clear and explicit is the ***,due to various reasons,there may be a large number of *** generate high-quality software requirements specifications,numerous researchers have developed a variety of ways to improve the quality of *** this paper,we propose a questions extraction method based on sRs elements decomposition,which evaluates the quality of sRs in the form of numerical *** proposed method not only evaluates the quality of sRss but also helps in the detection of defects,especially the description problem and omission defects in *** verify the effectiveness of the proposed method,we conducted a controlled experiment to compare the ability of checklist-based review(CBR)and the proposed method in the sRs *** CBR is a classicmethod of reviewing sRs *** a lot of practice and improvement for a long time,CBR has excellent review ability in improving the quality of software requirements *** experimental results with 40 graduate studentsmajoring in software engineering confirmed the effectiveness and advantages of the proposed ***,the shortcomings and deficiencies of the proposed method are also observed through the ***,the proposed method has been tried out by engineers with practical work experience in software development industry and received good feedback.
