Synchronous condensers(SCs)are generally used at the receiving-end stations of ultra-high-voltage direct current(UHVDC)transmission systems due to their strong reactive power support and flexible regulation of reactive power according to the interconnected grids operating *** this paper,different starting control schemes of a SC integrated power grid are investigated providing four main contributions:1)The principle of reactive power support of the SC on the interconnected power grid is analytically studied,providing the establishment of mathematical models.2)Four different starting control schemes are developed for the initialization and SC integration,*** Scheme 1,a preset initial falling speed is directly utilized without initialization;in Scheme 2,a black start sequential control approach with a static frequency converter(SFC)is proposed;in Scheme 3,PI/PD/PID controllers are respectively applied for the excitation device at the speed-falling stage;in Scheme 4,a pre-insertion approach of an energy absorption component with R/L/RL is utilized to suppress the surges at the SC integration instant.3)The dynamic behaviors of four different starting schemes at specific operating stages are evaluated.4)The success rate of SC integration is analyzed to evaluate starting control *** of the SC interconnected system with four different starting control schemes is evaluated in the timedomain simulation environment PSCAD/EMTDC^(TM).The results prove the superiority of the proposed starting control approach in Scheme 4.

The nuclear event risk(NER)is an important and disputed factor that should be reasonably considered when planning the pathway of nuclear power development(NPD)to assess the benefits and risks of developing nuclear power more *** paper aims to explore the impact of nuclear events on NPD pathway *** influence of nuclear events is quantified as a monetary risk component,and an optimization model that incorporates the NER in the objective function is *** optimize the pathway of NPD in the lowcarbon transition course of power supply structure evolution,a simulation model is built to deduce alternative NPD pathways and corresponding power supply evolution scenarios under the constraint of an exogenously assigned carbon emission pathway(CEP);moreover,a method is proposed to describe the CEP by superimposing the maximum carbon emission space and each carbon emission reduction(CER)component,and various CER components are clustered considering the emission reduction characteristics and resource endowments of different power generation technologies.A case study is conducted to explore the impact of NER and its risk valuation uncertainty on NPD pathway *** method presented in this paper allows the impact of nuclear events on NPD pathway planning to be quantified and improves the level of coordinated optimization of benefits and risks.

In a power system, power generation and load have frequency response characteristics, which randomly fluctuate with changes in operating status. This study investigates a probabilistic power flow method that considers the unit and load uncertainty of the static frequency characteristic. Firstly, a calculation model is established on the basis of the characteristics of the frequency modulation performance of the unit and load. Then a calculation method is developed using the concept of dynamic power flow in order to determine the probability distribution of the active power flow of each line under the occurrence of a fault in the system. In the method, Monte Carlo sampling with the semi-invariant method is applied for analysis and calculation. The IEEE-30-buses system is taken as an example to analyze the impact of different responses of units on the power flow distribution of various branches. The method discussed herein is compared with the Monte Carlo simulation method to verify its effectiveness.

With the development of renewable energy and the changes in the characteristics of power grid,it is becoming increasingly difficult to balance power supply and demand in space and *** addition,the requirement for improved dispatching capability of power grid is ***,the potential of flexible load dispatching should be realized,which can promote the large-scale consumption of renewable energy and the construction of new power *** on the analysis of existing load dispatching studies and the differences in the characteristics of domestic and foreign load dispatchings,a technical architecture and several key technologies are proposed for load resources to participate in power grid dispatching under the new situation,i.e.,the autonomous collaborative control system of load *** system implements the multi-layer coordinated control of main,distribution and micro grids(load aggregators).Adjustable load resources are aggregated through an aggregator operation platform and connected with a dispatcher load regulator platform to realize real-time data interaction with dispatching agencies as well as the monitoring,con-trol,and marketing of *** supports the load resources to participate in network-wide dispatching optimization via continuous power *** key technologies such as the control mode,load modeling,dispatching strategy,and safety protection are also *** the closed-loop control of orderly charging piles and energy storage clusters in the North China Power grid,the feasibility of the proposed architecture and key technologies is *** route has successively supported multiple adjustable load aggregators to partici-pate in the ancillary services market of North China Power grid for ***,the technical challenges of load resources participating in power grid dispatching under the dual carbon goals are discussed and prospected.

Economic optimization for configuration and sizing of micro integrated energy systems

Based on analysis of construction and operation of micro integrated energy systems(MIES), this paper presents economic optimization for their configuration and sizing. After presenting typical models for MIES, a residential community MIES is developed by analyzing residential direct energy consumption within a general design procedure. Integrating with available current technologies and local resources, the systematic design considers a prime mover, fed by natural gas, with wind power, photovoltaic generation, and two storage devices serving thermal energy and power to satisfy cooling, heating and electricity demands. control strategies for MIES also arepresented in this study. Multi-objective formulas are obtained by analyzing annual cost and dumped renewable energy to achieve optimal coordination of energy supply and demand. According to historical load data and the probability distribution of distributed generation output,clustering methods based on K-means and discretization methods are employed to obtain typical scenarios representative of uncertainties. The modified non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm is applied to find the Pareto frontier of the constructed multi-objective formulas. In addition, aiming to explore the Pareto frontier, the dumped energy cost ratio is defined to check the energy balance in different MIES designs and provide decision support for the investors. Finally, simulations and comparision show the appropriateness of the developed model and the applicability of the adopted optimization algorithm.

Greenhouse gas emission regulation and renewable energy promotion policies have been implemented in many *** these two kinds of regulation policies have complex interactions between each other,and can either enhance or reduce the overall emission reduction *** not well tuned,these regulation policies may deviate from their original intention and lead to unnecessary social ***,the policy effectiveness,cost effectiveness,and dynamic efficiency of different policy mixtures between emission trading and renewable energy subsidy are studied based on a novel dynamic simulation platform of power economy and power *** results show that these two kinds of regulation policy can coexist,but a good coordination between the emission trading and the renewable energy subsidy can achieve better emission reduction outcomes.

The stochastic convergence of the cubature Kalmanfilter with intermittent observations （CKFI） for general nonlinearstochastic systems is investigated. The Bernoulli distributed ran-dom variable is employed to describe the phenomenon of intermit-tent observations. According to the cubature sample principle, theestimation error and the error covariance matrix （ECM） of CKFIare derived by Taylor series expansion, respectively. Afterwards, itis theoretically proved that the ECM will be bounded if the obser-vation arrival probability exceeds a critical minimum observationarrival probability. Meanwhile, under proper assumption corre-sponding with real engineering situations, the stochastic stabilityof the estimation error can be guaranteed when the initial estima-tion error and the stochastic noise terms are sufficiently small. Thetheoretical conclusions are verified by numerical simulations fortwo illustrative examples; also by evaluating the tracking perfor-mance of the optical-electric target tracking system implementedby CKFI and unscented Kalman filter with intermittent observa-tions （UKFI） separately, it is demonstrated that the proposed CKFIslightly outperforms the UKFI with respect to tracking accuracy aswell as real time performance.
