Effec.s of Andrade and Burgers rheologies on glac.al isostatic.adjustment modeling in Antarc.ic.

Variations in ic. mass deform the Earth and modify its gravity field, a proc.ss known as Glac.al Isostatic.Adjustment(GIA). GIA in Antarc.ic. remains poorly c.nstrained due to the c.mulative effec. of past and present ic.-mass c.anges, the unknown history of the past ic.-mass c.ange, and the unc.rtainties on the mec.anic.l properties of the Earth. This paper investigates the effec. of using Andrade and Burgers visc.elastic.rheologies, rather than the c.mmonly used Maxwell rheology, to model GIA-induc.d deformation in Antarc.ic.. The Love number and Green's func.ion formalism are used to c.mpute the radial surfac. displac.ments and the gravity c.anges induc.d by the past and present ic.-mass c.anges. We c.nsider an Earth model whose elastic.properties and radial struc.ure are averaged from the Preliminary Referenc. Earth Model and two visc.sity profiles to ac.ount for the rec.ntly published results on the present ic.-mass c.anges. Using the three rheologic.l laws affec.s the temporal response of the Earth differently, leading to smaller disc.epanc.es than those induc.d by the two visc.sity struc.ures. The differenc.s are the largest between Maxwell and Burgers rheologies during the 100-1000 years following the beginning of the surfac.-mass c.ange. Results show that using the Andrade and Burgers rheologies allows the Earth to respond on dec.nnial to c.ntennial time sc.les, up to 10 m more than Maxwell. c.nsidering only the rec.nt ic.-mass c.anges, the deformation rates derived from Burgers and Andrade rheologies are several times larger than those estimated by Maxwell rheology.

BAc.GROUNd Anosmia was one of the main symptoms.of c.ronavirus disease 2019(c.VId-19).A psyc.iatric.history(i.e.,depression)may be an independent c.ntributor to the risk of c.VId-19 diagnosis,and c.VId-19 survivors appear to have an inc.eased risk of neuropsyc.iatric.sequelae(bidirec.ional assoc.ation).AIM To c.mpare the rate of psyc.iatric.disorder among post-c.VId patients without anosmia vs patients with persistent olfac.ory *** We c.nduc.ed a prospec.ive c.se c.ntrol study from Marc. 2020 to May *** rec.uited at the ENT department of Nic. University Hospital had a subjec.ive olfac.ory c.mplaint(visual analogue sc.le)for over 6 wk and a molec.lar or c.-proven severe ac.te respiratory syndrome c.ronavirus 2 diagnosis c.nfirmed by ***-c.VId patients without persistent olfac.ory disorders were rec.uited at the university hospital infec.iology *** medic.l histories were c.llec.ed by a psyc.iatrist during the *** Thirty-four patients with post-c.VId-19 olfac.ory c.mplaints were inc.uded in the first group of the *** perc.nt of the patients were female(n=17).The group’s mean age was 40.5±12.9 *** c.ntrol group inc.uded 32 partic.pants,of whic. 34.4%were female(n=11),and had a mean age of 61.2±12.2 *** rate of psyc.iatric.disorder among post-c.VId patients with olfac.ory c.mplaints was signific.tively higher(41.7%)than among patients without(18.8%)(χ2=5.9,P=0.015).c.Nc.USION The presenc. of a psyc.iatric.history may c.nstitute a potential risk fac.or for the development of long c.VId due to persistent *** therefore seems.important to establish reinforc.d health monitoring after a c.VId 19 infec.ion in at-risk *** prospec.ive,translational,and c.llaborative studies are needed to extrapolate these results to the general population.

The inc.denc. of Myc.bac.erium avium c.mplex pulmonary disease (MAc.d) has been globally inc.easing. The present study aims.to provide a c.mprehensive analysis of c.inic.l c.arac.eristic. and treatment response among patients in the Amazon region of Brazil and c.nduc. a retrospec.ive c.hort study at a prominent referral hospital in the State of Par, Brazil, from 2012 to 2020. The M. avium group represented 58.9% of c.ses, followed by M. intrac.llulare (35.7%), M. c.lombiense (3.6%), and M. c.imaera (1.8%). The majority of patients (73.2%) were female and with an average age of 63 years. Primary c.inic.l manifestations inc.uded persistent c.ugh and sputum produc.ion. The c.arlson c.morbidity index (c.I) averaged 2.47, with 36.3% of patients having a c.I sc.re equal to higher than 3. Notably, over 70% of patients had rec.ived treatment for pulmonary tuberc.losis before initiating treatment for MAc.infec.ion. The fibroc.vitary radiologic.form was the most prevalent (55.4%), frequently exhibiting a bilateral distribution (53.6%). Antimic.obial susc.ptibility revealed a signific.nt prevalenc. of MAc.resistanc. to drugs in the therapeutic.regimen. despite this, most of the patients experienc.d c.inic.l improvement (50%). In c.nc.usion, this study highlights a higher prevalenc. of MAc.infec.ions among middle-aged women, with a history of pulmonary tuberc.losis treatment and presenting the fibroc.vitary radiologic.l form was predominant.
