Pancreatic lymphangiomas are very rare benign cystic lesions that pose a diagnostic dilemma due to their resemblance to other non-neoplastic and neoplastic pancreatic cystic *** such,pancreatic lymphangiomas are frequently diagnosed only after histological examination of the excised *** present 2 cases of pancreatic lymphangioma,determine its prevalence at our institution and perform a detailed review of published literature since *** 1 is a 36-year-old male and case 2 is a 35-year-old female,both of which presented with abdominal *** were the only cases of pancreatic lymphangiomas reported at our institution since *** reviewed 69 cases of pancreatic lymphangiomas from 52 *** affects predominantly females with a median age of 43 and such patients typically present with abdominal pain(58.8%)or are asymptomatic(27.9%).The median size is 8.6 cm,the most common location is the head of pancreas and the most common imaging finding is that of a multilocular *** of patients underwent surgical resection(69.6%).Endoscopic ultrasound-guided fine-needle aspiration features of pancreatic lymphangiomas include chylous cyst fluid,elevated fluid triglyceride levels(15/16 cases)and numerous lymphocytes on *** majority of patients with elevated fluid triglyceride levels(13/15 cases)were managed *** lymphangiomas are rare pancreatic cystic lesions that may be diagnosed preoperatively using a multidisciplinary and multimodal approach involving clinical,radiological,biochemical and cytological features,allowing greater confidence in the selection of patients who can be managed conservatively.

High mountain Asia(HMA),recognized as a third pole,needs regular and intense studies as it is susceptible to climate *** accurate and high-resolution Digital Elevation Model(DEM)for this region enables us to analyze it in a 3D environment and understand its intricate role as the Water Tower of *** science teams of NASA realized an 8-m DEM using satellite stereo imagery for HMA,termed HMA 8-m *** this research,we assessed the vertical accuracy of HMA 8-m DEM using reference elevations from ICESat-2 geolocated photons at three test sites of varied topography and land *** were made from statistical quantifiers and elevation *** the world’s highest mountain,mount Everest,and its surroundings,Root Mean Squared Error(RMSE)and Mean Absolute Error(MAE)resulted in 1.94 m and 1.66 m,respectively;however,a uniform positive bias observed in the elevation profiles indicates the seasonal snow cover change will dent the accurate estimation of the elevation in this sort of test *** second test site containing gentle slopes with forest patches has exhibited the Digital Surface Model(DSM)features with RMSE and MAE of 0.58 m and 0.52 m,*** third test site,situated in the Zanda County of the Qinghai-Tibet,is a relatively flat terrain bed,mostly bare earth with sudden river cuts,and has minimal errors with RMSE and MAE of 0.32 m and 0.29 m,respectively,and with a negligible ***,in one more test site,the feasibility of detecting the glacial lakes was tested,which resulted in exhibiting a flat surface over the surface of the lakes,indicating the potential of HMA 8-m DEM for deriving the hydrological *** results accrued in this investigation confirm that the HMA 8-m DEM has the best vertical accuracy and should be of high use for analyzing natural hazards and monitoring glacier surfaces.

Effects of preoperative chemotherapy on neuroblastoma with MYCN amplification:a surgeon’s perspective

Background Preoperative chemotherapy plays an important role in the surgical management of unresectable *** response to chemotherapy has been variable due to the tumor’s *** aimed to evaluate the effects of preoperative chemotherapy on MYCN-amplified(MYCNA)neuroblastoma that would impact on surgical *** Patients with MYCNA neuroblastoma who received preoperative chemotherapy followed by surgical resection performed at our center were *** tools of response evaluated included tumor volume reduction(TVR),reduction in image-defined risk factors(IDRFs),percentage tumor necrosis(Nec),and surgical *** Among 62 patients evaluated,mean age was 3.0(range,0.9-11.8)years,and primary tumors were distributed in the abdomen(n=59),pelvis(n=2),and thorax(n=1).The patients were in stages L2(n=14)and M(n=48).Surgery was performed after median of 4(range,2-10)cycles of *** completion of preoperative chemotherapy,41(66.1%)patients had TVR>65%,24(42.9%)responded with reduced IDRFs,47(75.8%)tumors had Nec>50%,and 27 patients suffered 31 surgical ***(83.9%)continued to have IDRFs at *** commonly encountered were encasement of renal pedicles(n=50),superior mesenteric artery(n=46),celiac axis(n=45),and aorta/vena cava(n=44),and most remained refractory to *** with TVR>65%were associated with Nec>50%(87.5%vs 54.5%,p=0.004)and reduced IDRFs(46.3%vs 19%,p=0.035),but not with the incidence of surgical *** Majority of MYCNA neuroblastomas were highly chemosensitive as they experienced high TVR,reduced IDRFs,and high Nec,and hence created favorable conditions for surgical *** responders and persistent IDRFs that were commonly refractory to preoperative chemotherapy remained a surgical challenge.

The food colorant Red 40 is an environmental risk factor for colitis development in mice with increased expression of interleukin(IL)-*** immune response is mediated by CD4^(+)T cells,but mechanistic insights into how these CD4^(+)T cells trigger andperpetuate colitis have remained ***,using single-cell transcriptomic analysis,we found that several CD4^(+)T-cell subsetsare present in the intestines of colitic mice,including an interferon(IFN)-γ-producing *** vivo challenge of primed mice withRed 40 promoted rapid activation of CD4^(+)T cells and caused marked intestinal epithelial cell(IEC)apoptosis that was attenuated bydepletion of CD4^(+)cells and blockade of IFN-γ.Ex vivo experiments showed that intestinal CD4^(+)T cells from colitic mice directlypromoted apoptosis of IECs and intestinal ***4^(+)T cell-mediated cytotoxicity was contact-dependent and required FasL,which promoted caspase-dependent cell death in target *** ablation of IFN-γconstrained IL-23-and Red 40-inducedcolitis development,and blockade of IFN-γinhibited epithelial cell death in *** results advance the understanding of themechanisms regulating colitis development caused by IL-23 and food colorants and identify IFN-γ^(+)cytotoxic CD4^(+)T cells as a newpotential therapeutic target for colitis.

An investigation of machine learning techniques to estimate minimum horizontal stress magnitude from borehole breakout

Borehole breakout is a widely utilised phenomenon in horizontal stress orientation determination,and breakout geometrical parameters,such as width and depth,have been used to estimate both horizontal stress ***,the accuracy of minimum horizontal stress estimation from borehole breakout remains relatively low in comparison to maximum horizontal stress *** paper aims to compare and improve the minimum horizontal stress estimation via a number of machine learning(ML)regression techniques,including parametric and non-parametric models,which have rarely been *** models were trained based on 79 laboratory data from published literature and validated against 23 field data.A systematic bias was observed in the prediction for the validation dataset whenever the horizontal stress value exceeded the maximum value in the training ***,the pattern was captured,and the removal of systematic bias showed that the artificial neural network is capable of predicting the minimum horizontal stress with an average error rate of 10.16%and a root mean square error of 3.87 MPa when compared to actual values obtained through conventional in-situ measurement *** is a meaningful improvement considering the importance of in-situ stress knowledge for underground operations and the availability of borehole breakout data.

Biomarkers and a tailored approach for immune monitoring in kidney transplantation

A literature review on immune monitoring in kidney transplantation produced dozens of research articles and a multitude of promising biomarkers,all in the quest for the much sought after-but perennially elusive-"holy grail" of kidney biomarkers able to unequivocally predict acute transplant rejection vs *** methodologies and study designs were many and *** the motivation for this editorial,which espouses the notion that in today's kidney transplantation milieu,the judicious use of disease classifiers tailored to specific patient immune risks may be more achievable and productive in the long run and confer a greater advantage for patient treatment than the pursuit of a single "omniscient" *** addition,we desire to direct attention toward greater scrutiny of biomarker publications and decisions to implement biomarkers in practice,standardization of methods in the development of biomarkers and consideration for adoption of "biomarker-driven" *** propose "biomarkerdriven" biopsies as an adjunctive to and/or alternative to random surveillance(protocol) biopsies or belated indication *** discovery of a single kidney transplantation biomarker would represent a major breakthrough in kidney transplantation practice,but until that occurs-if ever it does occur,other approaches offer substantial potential for unlocking prognostic,diagnostic and therapeutic *** conclude our editorial with suggestions and recommendations for productively incorporating current biomarkers into diagnostic algorithms and for testing future biomarkers of acute rejection in kidney transplantation.
