Anaerobic digestion (AD) with thermal hydrolysis (TH) pretreatment is a promising process for excess sludge treatment,while there lacks of the knowledge from full-scale process about the impact of sludge composition and characteristics on microbial community and *** sludge physiochemical indices,microbial community and performance data of four full-scale TH-AD plants were characterized,and their relationships was *** four plants were operated under almost similar total organic loading rate (OLR)but their methanogenesis performance differentiate into two groups,namely superior group(SupG) and the inferior group (Inf G).In both groups,TH effectively solubilized particulate organic compounds,meanwhile raised the ammonia nitrogen (NH_(4)^(+)-N) and volatile fatty acid (VFA) *** with the Sup G,thermal hydrolyzed sludge of Inf G had higher level of VFAs,NH_(4)^(+)-N and total chemical oxygen demand (t COD),which showed higher inhibition effect on microbes,leading to a community with lower diversity,lower abundance of carbohydrate degrading functional guild,higher protein degrading one,and methanogens that adapted to limited substrates,and further declined the methane production ***,it was recommended that OLR alone was not sufficient for controlling the system in design and operation,the concentration of VFAs,NH_(4)^(+)-N and t COD should be equally *** higher concentration,together with the higher abundance of Defluviitoga and Proteiniphilum were recommended as indicators for inferior running *** results proposed that microbial communities played a role of bridge between environmental factors and performance,provided implications for engineering ecology and operational regulation for full-scale sludge TH-AD process.

Nitrogen(N)is one of the most limited nutrients of terrestrial ecosystems,whose losses are prevented in tightly coupled cycles in finely tuned *** change-induced N enrichment through atmospheric deposition and application of vast amounts of fertilizer are now challenging the terrestrial N *** mycorrhizal fungi(AMF)are known drivers of plant-soil nutrient fluxes,but a comprehensive assessment of AMF involvement in N cycling under global change is still ***,we simulated N enrichment by fertilization(low/high)in experimental grassland microcosms under greenhouse conditions in the presence or absence of AMF and continuously monitored different N pathways over nine *** found that high N enrichment by fertilization decreased the relative abundance of legumes and the plant species dominating the plant community changed from grasses to forbs in the presence of AMF,based on aboveground *** presence of AMF always maintained plant N:phosphorus(P)ratios between 14 and 16,no matter how the soil N availability *** in plant N:P ratios due to the increased plant N and P uptake might thus be a primary pathway of AMF altering plant community ***,we constructed a comprehensive picture of AMF’s role in N cycling,highlighting that AMF reduced N losses primarily by mitigating N leaching,while N_(2)O emissions played a marginal *** mycorrhizal fungi reduced N_(2)O emissions directly through the promotion of N_(2)O-consuming *** underlying mechanism for reducing N leaching is mainly the AMF-mediated improved nutrient uptake and AMF-associated microbial *** results indicate that synergies between AMF and other soil microorganisms cannot be ignored in N cycling and that the integral role of AMF in N cycling terrestrial ecosystems can buffer the upcoming global changes.

Underwater acoustic Long-Baseline System(LBL)is an important technique for submarine positioning and ***,the high cost of the seafloor equipment and complex construction of a seafloor network restrict the distribution of the LBL within a small area,making an underwater vehicle difficult for long-distance and high-precision acoustic-based or inertial-based *** therefore propose an acoustic LBL-based Inertial Measurement Unit(IMU)calibration *** the underwater vehicle can receive the acoustic signal from a seafloor beacon,the IMU is precisely calibrated to reduce the cumulative error of Strapdown Inertial Navigation System(SINS).In this way,the IMU is expected to maintain a certain degree of accuracy by relying solely on SINS when the vehicle reaches out the range of the LBL network and cannot receive the acoustic *** present the acoustic LBL-based IMU online calibration model and analyze the factors that affect the accuracy of IMU *** results fulfill the expectation that the gyroscope bias and accelerometer bias are the main error sources that affect the divergence of SINS position errors,and the track line of the underwater vehicle directly affects the accuracy of the calibration *** addition,we deduce that an optimal calibration trajectory needs to consider the effects of the three-dimensional observability and position dilution of *** the experiment,we compare the effects of seven calibration trajectories:straight and diamond-shaped with and without the change of depth,and three sets of curves with the change of depth:circular,S-shaped,and *** them,we find that the figure-eight is the optimal trajectory for acoustic LBL-based IMU online *** take the maintenance period during which the accumulated SINS Three Dimensional(3D)position errors are below 1 km to evaluate the calibration *** filed experimental results show that for the Micro-electromechanical System

The recognition on the trend of wind energy stability is still extremely rare,although it is closely related to acquisition efficiency,grid connection,equipment lifetime,and costs of wind energy *** the 40-year(1979–2018)ERA-Interim data from the European Center for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts,this study presented the spatial-temporal distribution and climatic trend of the stability of global offshore wind energy as well as the abrupt phenomenon of wind energy stability in key regions over the past 40 years with the climatic analysis method and Mann-Kendall(M-K)*** results show the following 5 points.(1)According to the coefficient of variation(C_(v))of the wind power density,there are six permanent stable zones of global offshore wind energy:the southeast and northeast trade wind zones in the Indian,Pacific and Atlantic oceans,the Southern Hemisphere westerly,and a semi-permanent stable zone(North Indian Ocean).(2)There are six lowvalue zones for both seasonal variability index(S_(v))and monthly variability index(M_(v))globally,with a similar spatial distribution as that of the six permanent stable zones.M_(v) and S_(v) in the Arabian Sea are the highest in the world.(3)After C_(v),M_(v) and S_(v) are comprehensively considered,the six permanent stable zones have an obvious advantage in the stability of wind energy over other sea areas,with C_(v) below 0.8,M_(v) within 1.0,and S_(v) within 0.7 all the year round.(4)The global stability of offshore wind energy shows a positive climatic trend for the past four decades.C_(v),M_(v) and S_(v) have not changed significantly or decreased in most of the global ocean during 1979 *** is,wind energy is flat or more stable,while the monthly and seasonal variabilities tend to shrink/smooth,which is beneficial for wind energy utilization.(5)C_(v) in the low-latitude Pacific and M_(v) and S_(v) in both the North Indian Ocean and the low-latitude Pacific have an obvious abrupt phenomenon at the end of

This paper proposes a kind of programmable logic element(PLE)based on Sense-Switch pFLASH *** programming Sense-Switch pFLASH,all three-bit look-up table(LUT3)functions,partial four-bit look-up table(LUT4)functions,latch functions,and d flip flop(DFF)with enable and reset functions can be *** PLE uses a choice of operational logic(COOL)approach for the operation of logic functions,it allows any logic circuit to be implemented at any ratio of combinatorial logic to *** intrinsic property makes it close to the basic application specific integrated circuit(ASIC)cell in terms of fine granularity,thus allowing ASIC-like cell-based mappers to apply all their optimization *** measuring Sense-Switch pFLASH and PLE circuits,the results show that the“on”state driving current of the Sense-Switch pFLASH is about 245.52μA,and that the“off”state leakage current is about 0.1 *** programmable function of PLE works *** delay of the typical combinatorial logic operation AND3 is 0.69 ns,and the delay of the sequential logic operation DFF is 0.65 ns,both of which meet the requirements of the design technical index.

The study of the relationship between animal stress and personality for free-ranging animals is limited and provides contrasting *** perception of stressors by an individual may vary due to its personality,and certain personality traits may help individuals to better cope with *** non-invasive infrared thermography(IRT),we investigated the link between physiological and behavioral components expressed during an acute stress event by free-ranging Fremont’s squirrels(Tamiasciurus fremonti).We expected that,during the acute stress event of being approached by the researcher,individuals that showed a fast pace-of-life syndrome(bolder,more active,and less social/more aggressive)based on an arena test would exhibit stronger sympathetic-adrenal-medullary system reactivity showing a more intense stress-induced hyperthermia(high core body temperature and low peripheral temperature)than individuals with a slow pace of life(shy,less active,and more social).We successfully employed IRT technology to images of Fremont’s squirrels with identification of the individuals’body parts(eye,nose,ear,hind foot).However,we found no support for our ***’body surface temperatures told us more about a squirrel’s external environment and less about the thermal state of the body in that environment following a stressful *** studies need to assess how to make IRT effective and efficient in the field and improve its performance in studying the relationships between physiology and personality in wildlife.

The dynamics of hydrological processes and the storage mechanisms of karst water resources are the most important issues in karst *** impact of environmental changes on water quantity,and the evaluation and quantification of eco-hydrological processes remain poorly *** this study,high-frequency continuous monitoring in multi-scale karst watersheds in Southwest China combined the approaches of water isotopes and the hybrid single-particle lagrangian integrated trajectory(HYSPLIT)model to identify the recharge mechanisms between atmospheric vapor,rainfall,surface water,and groundwater,and to reveal the interaction of eco-hydrological *** dominant moisture sources in Puding(PD)County were the Indian Ocean(43-69%)and local moisture(24-33%).Theδ^(18)O and deuterium excess(d-excess)values showed a positive correlation indicating that secondary or sub-cloud evaporation was prominent in the wet *** water line-conditioned excess(lc-excess)indicated that karst water interacted with recent precipitation,groundwater,and evaporation across *** to its specific hydrogeological structure,surface water and rainwater have a higher contribution rate to groundwater *** Chenqi stream replenished the Houzhai River mainly in the form of groundwater,with percentages ranging from 38.1 to 93.5%in the wet season,and 47.8-80.1%in the dry *** the Houzhai outlet,surface water and groundwater interconverted frequently with a percentage of 45.6-49.1%.We believe this is the first systematic study to quantify the supply relationship between water vapor transport,rainfall,surface water and groundwater in the Chinese karst zone,making a significant move forward in the field of karst hydrological processes and improving the efficiency of water resource evaluation and management.

Pulverizing is an essential unit operation in co-firing biomass with *** are only compatible with pellet forms of fibrous biomass materials and crush them down to their original forming particle *** is why the data on the size distribution of the particles forming a biomass pellet is crucial to achieving optimum combustion *** current study determines the internal particle size distribution of pellets after wet disintegration,following Iso 17830 standard,and aims to suggest improvements to the mentioned standard based on new measured *** were carried out on white wood pellets(no bark)and brown wood pellets containing bark at four water temperatures:20,40,60,and 95℃,with or without *** particle size distribution of the pre-pelletizer wood particles was also measured and compared with particles in the formed *** water temperature of 20℃ was found to be adequate for the complete disintegration of pellets,and no mechanical stirring was *** 30% of particles in the disintegrated pellets were 0.5-1.0 *** changes the particle size distribution to smaller *** disintegrated bark pellets contained more fines than white pellets.
