The field of architecture,engineering,and construction(AEC)is continually striving to use resources efficiently and manage complex *** more than ever,there is a strong need for digital transformation in *** improvement in the accessibility of consumer-based head-mounted displays(HMD)is attracting different entertainment and research fields to immersive virtual reality(VR)*** Information Modeling(BIM)is known as a promising technology in *** full potential of BIM is not yet employed to empower this field,however,and this could be a result of some barriers still to be surmounted by BIM in both technological and management *** of these barriers is the communication and collaboration between design,construction,operation,and maintenance *** can fill this gap by providing additional capabilities for BIM which either were not available before or were not possible to employ in practical *** this paper,we systematically review recent research around the application of VR in BIM and discuss the results using the PRISMA *** discuss the most commonly used technologies,software,and evaluation methods and the various applications of VR in the reviewed ***,we extend the discussion by summarizing the potential future work in this area.

The electrochemical reversibility of Mg in hybrid electrolytes based on mixtures of ionic liquid and glyme based organic solvents was investigated for applications in rechargeable magnesium batteries(RMBs). The electrolytes demonstrate reversible reduction and oxidation of Mg only after being pre-treated with the dehydrating agent, magnesium borohydride, Mg[BH_4]_2, highlighting the importance of removing water in Mg based electrolytes. The addition magnesium di[bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide](Mg[TFSI]_2)(0.3 M) to N-butyl-n-methyl-pyrrolidinium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide [C4 mpyr][TFSI]/tetraglyme at a mole ratio of 1:2 showed stable CV cycling over almost 300 cycles while scanning electron microscopy(SEM) and X-ray diffraction(XRD) confirmed Mg deposition, showing non-dendritic morphology and a well-aligned growth. Further thermogravimetric analysis(TGA) demonstrated a mass retention of 79% at 250℃ for this electrolyte suggesting that the presence of the ionic liquid increases thermal stability substantially making these hybrid electrolytes compatible for RMBs.

A Fast Algorithm for Ray Tracing

A fast algorithm for ray tracing is presented, with which the specular reflection term of global illumination model is improved. A hybrid technique combining hierarchical bounding volumes and constant size box partitioning is presented and a fast box traversal algorithm is used. By this technique multiple ray intersections with objects that are in more than one box can be avoided. As a result, the speed of ray tracing is considerably increased.

Depth estimation is an important task in computer *** data at scale for monocular depth estimation is challenging,as this task requires simultaneously capturing RGB images and depth ***,data augmentation is crucial for this *** data augmentationmethods often employ pixel-wise transformations,whichmay inadvertently disrupt edge *** this paper,we propose a data augmentationmethod formonocular depth estimation,which we refer to as the Perpendicular-Cutdepth *** method involves cutting realworld depth maps along perpendicular directions and pasting them onto input images,thereby diversifying the data without compromising edge *** validate the effectiveness of the algorithm,we compared it with existing convolutional neural network(CNN)against the current mainstream data augmentation ***,to verify the algorithm’s applicability to Transformer networks,we designed an encoder-decoder network structure based on Transformer to assess the generalization of our proposed *** results demonstrate that,in the field of monocular depth estimation,our proposed method,Perpendicular-Cutdepth,outperforms traditional data *** the indoor dataset NYU,our method increases accuracy from0.900 to 0.907 and reduces the error rate from0.357 to *** the outdoor dataset KITTI,our method improves accuracy from 0.9638 to 0.9642 and decreases the error rate from 0.060 to 0.0598.

The explosive growth of data volume and the ever-increasing demands of data value extraction have driven us into the era of big data. The "5V"(Variety,Velocity, Volume, Value, and Veracity) characteristics of big data pose great challenges to traditional computing paradigms and motivate the emergence of new *** computing is one of the representative technologies that can perform massive-scale and complex data computing by taking advantages of virtualized resources, parallel processing and data service integration with scalable data storage. However, as we are also experiencing the revolution of Internet-of-things(IoT), the limitations of cloud computing on supporting lightweight end devices significantly impede the flourish of cloud computing at the intersection of big data and IoT era. It also promotes the urgency of proposing new computing paradigms. We provide an overview on the topic of big data, and a comprehensive survey on how cloud computing as well as its related technologies can address the challenges arisen by big ***, we analyze the disadvantages of cloud computing when big data encounters IoT, and introduce two promising computing paradigms, including fog computing and transparent computing, to support the big data services of IoT. Finally, some open challenges and future directions are summarized to foster continued research efforts into this evolving field of study.

For the effect of thermal treatment on the mode-I fracture toughness(FT), three crystalline rocks(two basalts and one tonalite) were experimentally investigated. Semi-circular bend specimens of the rocks were prepared following the method suggested by the International Society for Rock Mechanics(ISRM)and were treated at various temperatures ranging from room temperature(25 ℃) to 600 ℃. Mode-I FT was correlated with tensile strength(TS), ultrasonic velocities, and Young’s modulus(YM). Additionally,petrographic and X-ray diffraction analyses were carried out to find the chemical changes resulting from the heat treatment. Further, scanning electron microscopy(SEM) was conducted to observe the micro structural changes when subjected to high temperatures. These experiments demonstrate that heat treatment has a strong negative impact on the FT and mechanical properties of the rocks. From room temperature to 600 ℃, mode-I FT values of massive basalt, giant plagioclase basalt, and tonalite were reduced by nearly 52%, 68%, and 64%, respectively. Also, at all temperature levels, FT and mechanical properties are found to be exponentially correlated. However, the exact nature of the relationship mainly depends on rock type. Besides, TS was found to be a better indicator of degradation degree than the mode-I FT. SEM images show that micro crack density and structural disintegration of the mineral grains increase with temperature. These physical changes confirm the observed reduction in the stiffness of heat-treated crystalline rocks.

Entity matching that aims at finding some records belonging to the same real-world objects has been studied for decades. In order to avoid verifying every pair of records in a massive data set, a common method, known as the blocking- based method, tends to select a small proportion of record pairs for verification with a far lower cost than O（n2）, where n is the size of the data set. Furthermore, executing multiple blocking functions independently is critical since much more matching records can be found in this way, so that the quality of the query result can be improved significantly. It is popular to use the MapReduce （MR） framework to improve the performance and the scalability of some compli- cated queries by running a lot of map （/reduce） tasks in parallel. However, entity matching upon the MapReduce frame- work is non-trivial due to two inevitable challenges： load balancing and pair deduplication. In this paper, we propose a novel solution, called M rEin, to handle these challenges with the support of multiple blocking functions. Although the existing work can deal with load balancing and pair deduplication respectively, it still cannot deal with both challenges at the same time. Theoretical analysis and experimental results upon real and synthetic data sets illustrate the high effectiveness and efficiency of our proposed solutions.

This paper studies the most similar maximal clique query(MSMCQ).Given a graph G and a set of nodes Q,MSMCQ is to find the maximal clique of G having the largest similarity with *** has many real applications including advertising industry,public security,task crowdsourcing and social network,*** can be studied as a special case of the general set similarity query(SSQ).However,the MCs of G has several specialties from the general *** on the specialties of MCs,we propose a novel index,namely *** outperforms the state-of-the-art SSQ method significantly in terms of the number of candidates and the query ***,we first construct an inverted indexⅠfor all the MCs of *** the MCs in a posting list often have a lot of overlaps,MCIndex selects some pivots to cluster the MCs with a small *** a query Q,we compute the distance from the pivots to *** clusters of the pivots assured not answer can be pruned by our distance based pruning *** it is NP-hard to construct a minimum MCIndex,we propose to construct a minimal MCIndex onⅠ(v)with an approximation ratio 1+ln|Ⅰ(v)|.Since the MCs have properties that are inherent of graph structure,we further propose a S Index within each cluster of a MCIndex and a structure based pruning rule.S Index can significantly reduce the number of *** the sizes of intersections between Q and many MCs need to be computed during the query evaluation,we also propose a binary representation of MCs to improve the efficiency of the intersection size *** extensive experiments confirm the effectiveness and efficiency of our proposed techniques on several real-world datasets.

Background:This study examined the chemistry and biological effects of Costus speciosus(***)Sm.(***)which has been traditionally used by Sarawak natives to treat urological disorders for ***:This study assesses the efficacy of *** in treating urological disorders by investigating its effects on the contractility of isolated prostate glands since this is the most effective way to relieve lower urinary tract symptoms that accompany benign prostatic *** were collected and extracts of *** rhizome,root,leaf and stem were made using water at different ***:*** rhizome and root decoction(boiling,about 100℃)combination extract(2 mg/mL)inhibited electrical field stimulation-induced neurogenic contractions of isolated rat prostatic gland by 44±8%(p=0.01,n=4);whereas room temperature(about 20℃)rhizome and root combination extract inhibited electrical field stimulation contractions by 62±8%(p=0.003,n=4).*** rhizome(p=0.0004,n=6),root(p<0.0001,n=6)and stem(p=0.0057,n=6)room temperature extracts inhibited electrical field stimulation-induced contractions of rat prostatic smooth muscle but leaf extract did not(p=0.09,n=6).Contractions mediated by exogenous administration of noradrenaline,acetylcholine,adenosine 5’-triphosphate or tyramine were only weakly inhibited by rhizome *** of *** rhizome room temperature extract separated by preparative high-performance liquid chromatography and evaluated by isolated organ bath bioassay revealed that inhibitory activity of the extract was due to highly polar soluble components present in the ***:*** extracts exert a direct inhibitory effect on prostate tissue which is likely to be therapeutically beneficial in treating lower urinary tract symptoms associated with benign prostatic hyperplasia.
