Thermal-flow-electric coupling performance analysis of a liquid-immersed battery thermal management system

Ensuring the safety and performance of lithium-ion batteries(LIBs) is a significant challenge for electric *** tackle this issue, an innovative liquid-immersed battery thermal management system(LIBTMS) using bionic baffles with fish-like perforations is developed. The thermal-flow-electric coupling characteristics of LIBTMSs with different baffle structures(no baffle, conventional baffle, baffle with circular perforations and baffle with fish-like perforations) are systematically investigated using experimental and numerical methods. The results indicate that the forced flow scheme exhibits better thermal management performance and voltage equalization than static flow. Moreover, the LIB temperatures and voltage deviations of different LIBTMSs increase quickly with increasing discharge rates. More importantly, the innovative LIBTMS exhibits the best thermoelectric performance due to its excellent thermoelectric equilibrium behavior caused by high electrical and temperature consistency, as well as the best overall performance involving the balance between the pressure loss and heat transfer capacity of the system. Compared with other structures, the innovative LIBTMS using baffles with fish-like perforations exhibits a maximum reduction of 10.1%, 15.2%, 25.8% and 9.0% in LIB maximum temperature, maximum temperature difference, system pressure drop and voltage deviation, respectively, under the same operating ***, for the LIBTMS using baffles with fish-like perforations, the bottom inlet and top outlet configuration and coolant precooling are suggested to enhance cooling performance.

Spinal cord injury(SCI)involves an initial traumatic phase,followed by secondary events such as ischemia,increased blood-spinal cord barrier permeability,ionic disruption,glutamate excitotoxicity,and metabolic alterations.A pe rsistent and exagge rated inflammato ry response within the spinal cord accompanies these events(Lima et al.,2022).The complexity and interplay of these mechanisms exacerbate the initial injury,leading to a degenerative process at the injury *** the initial trauma is unavoidable,the secondary injury begins within minutes and can last for months,creating an optimal window for therapeutic intervention.

An online service-oriented performance profiling tool for cloud computing systems

The growing scale and complexity of component interactions in cloud computing systems post great challenges for operators to understand the characteristics of system performance. Profiling has long been proved to be an effective approach to performance analysis; however, existing approaches confront new challenges that emerge in cloud computing systems. First, the efficiency of the profiling becomes of critical concern; second, service-oriented profiling should be considered to support separation-of-concerns performance analysis. To address the above issues, in this paper, we present P-Tracer, an online performance profiling tool specifically tailored for cloud computing systems. P-Tracer constructs a specific search engine that proactively processes performance logs and generates a particular index for fast queries; second, for each service, P-Tracer retrieves a statistical insight of performance characteristics from multi-dimensions and provides operators with a suite of web-based interfaces to query the critical information. We evaluate P- Tracer in the aspects of tracing overheads, data preprocessing scalability and querying efficiency. Three real-world case studies that happened in Alibaba cloud computing platform demonstrate that P-Tracer can help operators understand soft-ware behaviors and localize the primary causes of performance anomalies effectively and efficiently.

Signal Clipping at Transmitter and Receiver of O-OFDM for VLC under Optical Power Constraint

Visible light communications(VLC)is considered as an effective supplement technology for next-generation(6G)communications due to its abundant spectrum,high power efficiency and easy *** orthogonal frequency division multiplexing(O-OFDM)is a common technology to obtain further *** this paper,two typical O-OFDM schemes direct current biased O-OFDM(DCO-OFDM)and asymmetrically clipped O-OFDM(ACO-OFDM)are analyzed in terms of signal clipping at both transmitter and receiver under the constraints of maximum optical power and non-negative optical *** effective electrical SNR models after signal clipping are proposed and verified by link *** a noise cancellation scheme is proposed based on received signal clipping and is proved to bring a significant gain for *** system simulation,we find that under a certain optical power limitation,most users can achieve above 4 Gbps in indoor scenario when modulation bandwidth of the light emit diode(LED)or laser diode(LD)is 1 ***,it can be expected that the throughput could reach tens Gbps when the LED/LD modulation bandwidth is increased and multiple LEDs/LDs are deployed.

Joint Resource Allocation Using Evolutionary Algorithms in Heterogeneous mobile cloud computing Networks

The problem of joint radio and cloud resources allocation is studied for heterogeneous mobile cloud computing networks. The objective of the proposed joint resource allocation schemes is to maximize the total utility of users as well as satisfy the required quality of service(QoS) such as the end-to-end response latency experienced by each user. We formulate the problem of joint resource allocation as a combinatorial optimization problem. Three evolutionary approaches are considered to solve the problem: genetic algorithm(GA), ant colony optimization with genetic algorithm(ACO-GA), and quantum genetic algorithm(QGA). To decrease the time complexity, we propose a mapping process between the resource allocation matrix and the chromosome of GA, ACO-GA, and QGA, search the available radio and cloud resource pairs based on the resource availability matrixes for ACOGA, and encode the difference value between the allocated resources and the minimum resource requirement for QGA. Extensive simulation results show that our proposed methods greatly outperform the existing algorithms in terms of running time, the accuracy of final results, the total utility, resource utilization and the end-to-end response latency guaranteeing.

A novel secure group RFID authentication protocol

The trend of researching group radio frequency identification devices（RFID） authentication protocol has become increasingly popular in recent years. One of the newest work in this area is from Batina and Lee, they presented a privacy-preserving multi-players grouping-proof protocol based on the elliptic curve cryptography（ECC）, and claimed their protocol have the ability to resist five potential attacks, including compromised tag attack, man-in-the-middle attack, colluding tags attack, etc. In this paper, we first take a counterexample to demonstrate their protocol is vulnerable to compromised tag attack. Then we propose a novel secure RFID authentication protocol, and analyze its security by merging formal analysis, provable security, and mathematical inductive method, so as to solve the weakness of Batina and Lee＇s work. Furthermore, compared with another two classic protocols（secure ownership transfer protocol（SOTP） and secure multiple group ownership transfer protocol（SMGOTP））, the performance analysis show that our protocol provides not only a lower tags＇ communication cost at about 50.0% and 14.3%, but also a lower reader＇s computation cost（approximate 14.5% and 55.1% respectively）, when transferring a large number of tags.

A novel unsupervised method for new word extraction

New words could benefit many NLP tasks such as sentence chunking and sentiment analysis. However, automatic new word extraction is a challenging task because new words usually have no fixed language pattern, and even appear with the new meanings of existing words. To tackle these problems, this paper proposes a novel method to extract new words. It not only considers domain specificity, but also combines with multiple statistical language knowledge. First, we perform a filtering algorithm to obtain a candidate list of new words. Then, we employ the statistical language knowledge to extract the top ranked new words. Experimental results show that our proposed method is able to extract a large number of new words both in Chinese and English corpus, and notably outperforms the state-of-the-art methods. Moreover, we also demonstrate our method increases the accuracy of Chinese word segmentation by 10% on corpus containing new words.

Native intelligence for 6G mobile network: technical challenges,architecture and key features

The application of the artificial intelligence(AI) technology in the 5 th generation mobile communication system(5 G) networks promotes the development of the mobile communication network and its application in vertical industries, however, the application models of "patching" and "plug-in" have hindered the effect of AI applications. Meanwhile, the application of AI in all walks of life puts forward requirements for new capabilities of the future network, such as distributed training, real-time collaborative inference, local data processing, etc., which require "native intelligence design" in future networks. This paper discusses the requirements of native intelligence in the 6 th generation mobile communication system(6 G) networks from the perspectives of 5 G intelligent network challenges and the "ubiquitous intelligence" vision of 6 G, and analyzes the technical challenges of the AI workflows in its lifecycle and the AI as a service(AIaaS) in cloud network. The progress and deficiencies of the current research on AI functional architecture in various industry organizations are summarized. The end-to-end functional architecture for native AI for 6 G network and its three key technical characteristics are proposed: quality of AI services(QoAIS) based AI service orchestration for its full lifecycle, deep integration of native AI computing and communication, and integration of native AI and digital twin network. The directions of future research are also prospected.
