Breast cancer is one of the most common malignancies in women. The post-operative recurrence and metastasis are the leading causes of breast cancer-related mortality. In this study, we tried to explore the role of circulating tumor cell （CTC） detection combination PET/CT technology evaluating the prognosis and treatment response of patients with breast cancer; meanwhile, we attempted to assess the concept of ＂biological complete remission＂（bCR） in this regard. A 56-year-old patient with breast cancer （T2N1M1, stage IV left breast cancer, with metastasis to axillary lymph nodes and lungs） received 6 cycles of salvage treatment with albumin-bound paditaxd plus eapecitaabine and trastuzumah. Then, she underwent CTC detection and PET/CT for efficacy evaluation. CTC detection combination PET/CT is useful for the evaluation of the biological efficacy of therapies for breast cancer. The bCR of the patient appeared earlier than the conventional clinical imaging complete remission and promised the histological （pathological） complete remission. The integrated application of the concepts including bCR, imageological CR, and histological CR can achieve the early and prognosis of breast cancer. accurate assessment of biological therapeutic reponse and

Sinomenine(SIN) is a bioactive alkaloid compound extracted from a Chinese medicinal plant Sinomenium acutum. It is a multitarget antitumor natural substance. Various mechanisms have been proposed for the antitumor effects of SIN, such as direct cytotoxicity, induction of apoptosis, sensitization attenuating radiotherapy and chemotherapy, reversal of drug resistance, resistance to distant metastasis, and antiangiogenesis. SIN can be used as a tumor cell killer and an adjuvant to radiotherapy and chemotherapy. However, recent studies are mostly limited to the basic experimental stage; no systematic clinical studies have yet been reported. Therefore, this paper aimed to review the mechanism underlying the antitumor effects of SIN by consulting relevant domestic and foreign studies and to provide a relevant reference for further development, use, and exploration of SIN.

A new method for early detection of myocardial ischemia:cardiodynamicsgram(CDG)

Early detection of myocardial ischemia via electrocardiographic methods is important and challenging. In the study, based on the standard 12-lead electrocardiography(ECG), a new method called cardiodynamicsgram(CDG) is proposed for early detection of myocardial ischemia. Using a recently proposed deterministic learning algorithm, the cardiodynamics information is extracted from the ST-T segments of standard 12-lead ECG. The CDG is generated by plotting the three-dimensional cardiodynamics information. By analyzing CDG morphology, it is found that significant correlations exist between CDG and ischemia. By evaluating ischemia patients and healthy controls from the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt(PTB) database and the General hospital of Guangzhou military Command, the CDG method achieves a mean sensitivity of 90.3% and a mean specificity of 87.8%, which are higher than those of both the standard 12-lead ECG and the exercise ECG. As it is noninvasive, convenient, and inexpensive, it is hopeful that CDG may become a cost-effective screening method for early detection of ischemic heart diseases.

AIM:To explore effects of nonselective beta-blockers(NSBBs) in cirrhotic patients with no or small ***:The Pub Med,EMBASE,Science Direct,and Cochrane library databases were searched for relevant papers.A meta-analysis was performed using ORs with 95%CI as the effect *** analysis was conducted according to the studies including patients without varices and those with small ***:Overall,784 papers were initially retrieved from the database searches,of which six randomized controlled trials were included in the *** incidences of large varices development(OR = 1.05,95%CI:0.25-4.36;P = 0.95),first upper gastrointestinal bleeding(OR = 0.59,95%CI:0.24-1.47;P = 0.26),and death(OR = 0.70,95%CI:0.45-1.10;P = 0.12) were similar between NSBB and placebo ***,the incidence of adverse events was significantly higher in the NSBB group compared with the placebo group(OR = 3.47,95%CI:1.45-8.33;P = 0.005).The results of subgroup analyses were similar to those of overall ***:The results of this meta-analysis indicate that NSBBs should not be recommended for cirrhotic patients with no or small varices.

Objective:To investigate the protective effect of ultrasound-combined microbubbles on hippocampal acetylcholinesterase(AchE) fibers in ***:According to random digits table,60 SD rats were divided into two groups,marrow stromal cells(MSCs) intracranial transplantation group and MSCs intracranial transplantation + ultrasonic microbubbles *** stromal cells were cultivated and isolated in vitro;12 weeks after transplantation,spatial learning and memorizing abilities of rats were assessed by Morris water maze;AchE staining method was used to observe changes in density and appearance of AchE staining positive fibers in hippocampal CA1 ***:There was asignificant increase in spatial learning and memorizing abilities of rats in MSCs intracranial transplantation + ultrasonic microbubbles *** AchE staining suggested an increase in the density of AchE staining positive fibers in MSCs intracranial transplantation group;the fibers were regular,intact and *** of hippocampal AchE positive fibers was negatively correlated with the escape latent period and was positively correlated with percentage of the time needed to cross each platform ***:Better promotion of spatial learning and memorizing abilities of rats in MSCs intracranial transplantation + ultrasonic microbubbles group may be related with the protective effect of ultrasound-combined microbubbles on hippocampal acetylcholine fibers.

a-Amino-3-hydroxy-5-methyl-4-isoxazolepropionic acid receptors are considered to play a crucial role in synaptic plasticity in the developing visual cortex. In this study, we established a rat model of binocular form deprivation by suturing the rat binocular eyelids before eye-opening at postnatal day 14. During development, the decay time of excitatory postsynaptic currents mediated by a-amino-3- hydroxy-5-methyl-4-isoxazolepropionic acid receptors of normal rats became longer after eye- opening; however, the decay time did not change significantly in binocular form deprivation rats. The peak value in the normal group became gradually larger with age, but there was no significant change in the binocular form deprivation group. These findings indicate that binocular form deprivation influences the properties of excitatory postsynaptic currents mediated by a-amino-3- hydroxy-5-methyl-4-isoxazolepropionic acid receptors in the rat visual cortex around the end of the critical period, indicating that form stimulation is associated with the experience-dependent modification of neuronal synapses in the visual cortex.
