HfC–HfO2 modified high/superhigh temperature thermal protection coating for superior hot corrosion resistance and antioxidation performance

With advances in the thrust-weight ratio,the service temperature of gas turbine engines even exceeds 1500℃,which is urgent for the development of high/superhigh-temperature thermal protection systems(TPSs)for long-term *** alloys are increasingly viewed as promising structural materials for high-temperature applications because of their superior high-temperature mechanical strength,but the“pest”catastrophic oxidation greatly restricts their further *** this study,a HfC–HfO2-modified silicide coating was prepared via an innovative method of halide-activated pack cementation(HAPC)combined with liquid-plasma-assisted particle deposition and sintering of niobium alloys,resulting in a composite coating with excellent hot corrosion resistance and high-temperature oxidation *** modified multilayer coating is characterized by the synergistic combination of a dense NbSi2 inner layer and a HfC–HfO2 porous outer layer,resulting in a significant improvement in high-temperature performance compared with that of the single NbSi2 *** corrosion gain of the composite coating is only 13.94 mg·cm−2 after a corrosion time of 200 h at 900℃,and an intact oxide scale surface is observed after oxidation at 1500℃for 500 *** improvement is attributed to the formation of a robust Hf-rich skeleton provided by the deposited HfC–HfO2 layer,which can accelerate the formation of a highly stable corroded layer/oxide *** addition,multiple stress release mechanisms of the composite coating at high temperatures also provide substantial contributions to long-term *** these merits make HfC–HfO2-modified composite coatings on niobium alloys competitive for the development of high/superhigh-temperature thermal protection systems for long-term service.

Multifunctional Nacre‑Like Nanocomposite Papers for Electromagnetic Interference Shielding via Heterocyclic Aramid/MXene Template‑Assisted In‑Situ Polypyrrole Assembly

Robust, ultra-flexible, and multifunctional MXene-basedelectromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding nanocomposite filmsexhibit enormous potential for applications in artificial intelligence,wireless telecommunication, and portable/wearable electronic *** this work, a nacre-inspired multifunctional heterocyclic aramid(HA)/MXene@polypyrrole (PPy) (HMP) nanocomposite paper withlarge-scale, high strength, super toughness, and excellent tolerance tocomplex conditions is fabricated through the strategy of HA/MXenehydrogel template-assisted in-situ assembly of PPy. Benefiting from the"brick-and-mortar" layered structure and the strong hydrogen-bondinginteractions among MXene, HA, and PPy, the paper exhibits remarkable mechanical performances, including high tensile strength (309.7 MPa),outstanding toughness (57.6 MJ m−3), exceptional foldability, and structural stability against ultrasonication. By using the template effect ofHA/MXene to guide the assembly of conductive polymers, the synthesized paper obtains excellent electronic conductivity. More importantly,the highly continuous conductive path enables the nanocomposite paper to achieve a splendid EMI shielding effectiveness (EMI SE) of 54.1 dBat an ultra-thin thickness (25.4 μm) and a high specific EMI SE of 17,204.7 dB cm2g−1. In addition, the papers also have excellent applicationsin electromagnetic protection, electro-/photothermal de-icing, thermal therapy, and fire safety. These findings broaden the ideas for developinghigh-performance and multifunctional MXene-based films with enormous application potential in EMI shielding and thermal management.

Effect of gradual increase of salt on performance and microbial community during granulation process

Salinity was considered to have effects on the characteristics,performance microbial communities of aerobic granular *** study investigated granulation process with gradual increase of salt under different *** identical sequencing batch reactors were operated,while the influent of Ra and Rb was subjected to stepwise increments of NaCl concentrations(0-4 g/L and 0-10 g/L).The presence of filamentous bacteria may contribute to granules formed under lower salinity conditions,potentially leading to granules *** removal efficiency achieved in both reactors although therewas a small accumulation of nitrite in Rb at later *** removal efficiencies of chemical oxygen demand(COD),total nitrogen(TN),and total phosphorus(TP)in Ra were 95.31%,93.70%and 88.66%,while the corresponding removal efficiencies in Rb were 94.19%,89.79%and 80.74%.Salinity stimulated extracellular polymeric substances(EPS)secretion and enriched EPS producing bacteria to help maintain the integrity and stability of the aerobic *** nitrifying bacteria were responsible for NH_(4)^(+)-N and NO_(2)^(-)-N oxidation of salinity systems and large number of denitrifying bacteria were detected,which ensure the high removal efficiency of TN in the systems.

A binary eutectic electrolyte design for high-temperature interface-compatible Zn-ion batteries

The deterioration of aqueous zinc-ion batteries（AZIBs） is confronted with challenges such as unregulated Zn2+diffusion,dendrite growth and severe decay in battery performance under harsh ***,a design concept of eutectic electrolyte is presented by mixing long chain polymer molecules,polyethylene glycol dimethyl ether（PEGDME）,with H2O based on zinc trifluoromethyl sulfonate(Zn（OTf）2),to reconstruct the Zn2+solvated structure and in situ modified the adsorption layer on Zn electrode *** dynamics simulations（MD）,density functional theory（DFT） calculations were combined with experiment to prove that the long-chain polymer-PEGDME could effectively reduce side reactions,change the solvation structure of the electrolyte and priority absorbed on Zn（002）,achieving a stable dendrite-free Zn *** to the comprehensive regulation of solvation structure and zinc deposition by PEGDME,it can stably cycle for over 3200 h at room temperature at 0.5 mA/cm2and 0.5 mAh/*** at high-temperature environments of 60℃,it can steadily work for more than 800 cycles（1600 h）.Improved cyclic stability and rate performance of aqueous Zn‖VO2batteries in modified electrolyte were also achieved at both room and high *** that,the demonstration of stable and high-capacity Zn‖VO2pouch cells also implies its practical application.

The increasingly stringent performance requirement in integrated circuit manufacturing, characterized by smaller feature sizes and higher productivity, necessitates the wafer stage executing a extreme motion with the accuracy in terms of nanometers. This demanding requirement witnesses a widespread application of iterative learning control(ILC), given the repetitive nature of wafer scanning. ILC enables substantial performance improvement by using past measurement data in combination with the system model knowledge. However, challenges arise in cases where the data is contaminated by the stochastic noise, or when the system model exhibits significant uncertainties, constraining the achievable performance. In response to this issue, an extended state observer(ESO) based adaptive ILC approach is proposed in the frequency *** being model-based, it utilizes only a rough system model and then compensates for the resulting model uncertainties using an ESO, thereby achieving high robustness against uncertainties with minimal modeling effort. Additionally, an adaptive learning law is developed to mitigate the limited performance in the presence of stochastic noise, yielding high convergence accuracy yet without compromising convergence speed. Simulation and experimental comparisons with existing model-based and data-driven inversion-based ILC validate the effectiveness as well as the superiority of the proposed method.

Enhancing microbial superoxide generation and conversion to hydroxyl radicals for enhanced bioremediation using iron-binding ligands

Harnessing bacteria for superoxide production in bioremediation holds immense promise,yet its practical application is hindered by slow production rates and the relatively weak redox potential of *** study delves into a cost-effective approach to amplify superoxide production using an Arthrobacter strain,a prevalent soil bacterial *** research reveals that introducing a carbon source along with specific iron-binding ligands,including deferoxamine(DFO),diethylenetriamine pentaacetate(DTPA),citrate,and oxalate,robustly augments microbial superoxide ***,our findings suggest that these iron-binding ligands play a pivotal role in converting superoxide into hydroxyl radicals by modulating the electron transfer rate between Fe(Ⅲ)/Fe(Ⅱ)and ***,among the tested ligands,only DTPA emerges as a potent promoter of this conversion process when complexed with Fe(Ⅲ).We identify an optimal Fe(Ⅲ)to DTPA ratio of approximately 1:1 for enhancing hydroxyl radical production within the Arthrobacter *** research underscores the efficacy of simultaneously introducing carbon sources and DTPA in facilitating superoxide production and its subsequent conversion to hydroxyl radicals,significantly elevating bioremediation ***,our study reveals that DTPA augments superoxide production in cultures of diverse soils,with various soil microorganisms beyond Arthrobacter identified as contributors to superoxide *** emphasizes the universal applicability of DTPA across multiple bacterial *** conclusion,our study introduces a promising methodology for enhancing microbial superoxide production and its conversion into hydroxyl *** findings hold substantial implications for the deployment of microbial reactive oxygen species in bioremediation,offering innovative solutions for addressing environmental contamination challenges.

Double Grouping-Based Group Handover Scheme for Mega LEO Satellite Networks

The rapid development of mega low earth orbit(LEO)satellite networks is expected to have a significant impact on 6G *** terrestrial networks,due to the high-speed movement of satellites,users will frequently hand over between satellites even if their positions remain ***,the extensive coverage characteristic of satellites leads to massive users executing handovers *** address these challenges,we propose a novel double grouping-based group handover scheme(DGGH)specifically tailored for mega LEO satellite ***,we develop a user grouping strategy based on beam-limited hierarchical clustering to divide users into distinct ***,we reframe the challenge of managing multiple users’simultaneous handovers as a single-objective optimization problem,solving it with a satellite grouping strategy that leverages the accuracy of greedy algorithms and the simplicity of dynamic ***,we develop a group handover algorithm based on minimal handover waiting time to improve the satellite grouping process *** detailed steps of the DGGH scheme’s handover procedure are meticulously *** simulations show that the proposed DGGH scheme outperforms single-user handover schemes in terms of handover signaling over-head and handover success rate.

Intratumoral injection of two dosage forms of paclitaxel nanoparticles combined with photothermal therapy for breast cancer

Objective:In order to enhance the efficacy of anti-breast cancer,paclitaxel nanoparticles（PTX NPs） and polypyrrole nanoparticles（PPy NPs） were combined with photothermal therapy and *** the same time,the two dosage forms of PTX NPs and PTX NPs gel were ***:PTX NPs were prepared by self-assembly method,and then the cytotoxicity in vitro was investigated by Methyl thiazolyl tetrazolium（MTT） and other methods,and the efficacy and side effects in vivo were further ***:The average hydrated diameter,PDI and electric potential of PTX NPs were（210.20±1.57） nm,（0.081±0.003） mV and（15.80±0.35） mV,*** results showed that the IC50value of PTX NPs on 4 T1 cells was 0.490 μg/mL,while that of PTX injection was 1.737 μg/*** cell inhibitory effect of PTX NPs was about 3.5 times higher than that of PTX *** tumor inhibition rates of PTX NPs and gel were 48.64% and 56.79%,*** with local photothermal stimulation,the tumor inhibition rate of the PTX NPs reached 91.05%,surpassing that of the gel under the same conditions（48.98%）,moreover,the organ index and H&E staining results of PTX NPs showed a decrease in ***:This combination therapy can significantly enhance the effect of anti-breast cancer,and the synergistic effect of chemotherapy and light and heat provides a feasible and effective strategy for the treatment of tumor.

Modulated waveforms for harmonic minimization of far-field signals in amplitude-modulated heating of the ionosphere

This paper establishes an amplitude modulation heating model, simulating the far-field radiation of ELF/VLF signals generated by modulation heating, as well as the specific location and longitudinal extent of the radiation source. We consider various modulation waveforms and find that square-wave modulation has the highest excitation efficiency for ELF/VLF signals, and that square-wave modulation with a smaller duty cycle(<50%) exhibits higher excitation efficiency for ELF/VLF signals, while the sin2t waveform modulation yields the lowest proportion of harmonic energy in the generated signals. The amplitude of the second harmonic generated by the sin2t waveform is less than one-tenth that of the fundamental frequency, and the energy of higher-frequency harmonics can be negligibly small compared with those of the fundamental wave. It is a challenging task to achieve a balance between enhancing the excitation efficiency of ELF/VLF signals and also suppressing harmonics generated by the modulated heating process. This is because the harmonics are correspondingly enhanced as the excitation efficiency of the signals is increased. However, we find that under conditions of varying effective radiant power and modulation frequency, as long as the modulation waveform is unchanged, the energy ratio between the fundamental frequency signal generated by modulated heating and each harmonic is relatively fixed, with changes only in signal intensity and the location of the radiation source zone. This implies that one can first select modulation waveforms that make the signal less prone to distortion, then increase the effective radiated power to enhance the signal strength, without concern for harmonic interference of the fundamental signal.
