Weibo,China’s largest microblogging platform,has become one of the key information-sharing platforms in modern *** study examines topic propagation in relation to microblogging from the perspective of the“peer effect.”Using data of hot topics from Weibo,we analyze how the social effect and propagation pathway influence the topic propagation *** propose a spatial and temporal heterogeneity diffusion model that includes endogenous and exogenous social effects and is based on but different from the Bass diffusion *** find that most propagation pathways end after a single level of *** endogenous social effect in microblogs primarily influences the inflow of *** endogenous social effect,combined with the multiplier effect,motivates most users to share a microblog topic in a short period of *** exogenous social effect primarily influences the outflow of topics,and therefore,the microblog topics of a small number of popular users’account for most of the share *** results are robust to potential serial correlation,reflection problem,and potential self-selection due to user *** findings reveal that group characteristics affect individuals’behaviors and choices in relation to the topic propagation process on microblogging *** use of a spatial and temporal heterogeneity diffusion model and the robustness of the analysis process provide new information for scholars in this field.

As countries continue to deal with the global COVID-19 pandemic and its consequences, policymakers recognize that science, technology, and innovation(STI) practices offer a means of addressing many of the health problems that arise from the ongoing pandemic. Such recognition has given rise to many STI policy initiatives across various areas of science and policy, leading to a better understanding of coronavirus and the development of COVID-19 vaccines,treatments, and diagnostics. However, the practical implementation of vaccine and treatment strategies within local communities extends well beyond the laboratory. This study explored how misinformation and trust amplify or attenuate coronavirus and COVID-19 vaccine perceptions of those from ethnic minority groups deemed more susceptible to the impacts of the virus. Primary data in this study were collected in Scotland through semistructured interviews with 26 expert and nonexpert members from Scotland’s minority ethnic communities. The study findings show that risk perception is fluid and dependent on the information and evidential environment in which people find themselves. Misinformation, fake news, conspiracies, and trust or distrust(from prior experiences and historic practices) influence the perception of coronavirus and how risk messages are received, including the acceptance of coronavirus *** article reflects on Scotland’s approach to building trust and COVID-19 vaccine confidence and engagement based on the findings of this study, identifying areas of strength and areas for further improvement or research. The authors believe, as shown by our research, that vaccine engagement will be more impactful if developed by and with the public,and reflects public values, concerns, and priorities.

The adoption of a stakeholder approach to public engagement within the public sector has been extensive. However, there remain critical gaps in the understanding of stakeholder participation arising from hidden disparities that contribute to unequal access to communication channels, information, and hence ultimately knowledge and decision making. The term “epistemic injustice” has been used to describe such inequality of access and consequently, the outcome that ensues. Epistemic injustice is much overlooked in stakeholder theory. This article shows how epistemic injustice can act as a barrier to effective stakeholder engagement and hence to successful public policy formulation and implementation. We use the case of vaccine hesitancy among Scotland's African, Caribbean, and Black(ACB) communities to illustrate this problem of unequal participation. The study drew on primary data involving 85 participants and secondary data sources from extant literature and explored salient factors shaping barriers to vaccine uptake during the recent pandemic. The findings demonstrate how the failure to grasp epistemic injustice undermines the effectiveness of the stakeholder approach, even with the most wellintentioned efforts. We argue that epistemic injustice is a critical barrier to effective stakeholder approaches.

Rapid globalization has led to many studies of cross-cultural issues and their implications for management. As China＇s importance in the international economy rises, the level of international business cooperation continues to increase. This paper first identifies differences in the cultural orientations of Chinese and Canadians entering the job market and then examines how these orientations are related to their perceptions of the criteria employers use when hiring. The analyses show that the cultural differences are not consistent with Hofstede＇s previous work. Further, there are significant differences in the qualities that are considered important when seeking a job. The results of this study increase mutual understanding and improve business relationships between the two countries.

Intuitionistic fuzzy preference relations are powerful techniques used to express uncertain preference information. However, simultaneously providing the exact priority and non-priority intensities could be difficult in real applications. A credible interval intuitionistic fuzzy number (CIIFN) is introduced and a credible interval intuitionistic fuzzy reciprocal preference relation (CIIFRPR) is developed to solve this issue. Unlike intuitionistic fuzzy preference relations, the new preference relations use the CIIFNs to express the preference information such that the decision makers simply provide the priority intensity with interval-valued numbers and calculate the non-preference intensity with the transformed method, which avoids a complex evaluation of non-priority information. Furthermore, some basic operations and comparison laws are investigated, based on which three credible interval intuitionistic fuzzy aggregation operators are proposed. Two models are presented to manage the group decision-making. Finally, a practical case is used to demonstrate the feasibility and reasonability of the proposed preference relations and aggregation operators. © 2017 Beijing Institute of Aerospace Information.

Capacity acquisition and pricing decisions are a company＇s long-term strategic decisions. However, demand uncertainty and substitutability of multiple products cause the difficulty to solve capacity and pricing decision problems. In this paper, we address a multiple product pricing and multiple resource capacity acquisition problem with *** and competition. The company needs to determine capacity commitment for each resource and product prices before demands are realized so that the total profit is maximized. If the demand exceeds the committed capacity, extra amounts can be purchased from the spot market. Variable unit production costs, capacity acquisition and maintenance costs are considered. We first analyze a single company basic problem and find the optimal solutions on prices and capacity. Based on the single company model, we address the two-product, two-firm capacity commitment and pricing problem considering across product and across company price competition factors. The existence and uniqueness of equilibrium on price and capacity commitment are proved, and then we extended the results to the multiple product, multiple company case.

This paper investigates the ordering policy for the newsvendor problem with customer balking and penalties for balking and stockout. Our analysis is based on the assumption that only the mean and the variance of the demand distribution are known. In contrast to the existing research, we provide a new tradeoff tool as a replacement of the traditional one to weigh the holding cost and the goodwill cost segment： the balking penalty cost and the stockout penalty cost. Specifically, in addition to the stockout penalty, we also introduce the balking penalty, provide a new proof of the optimality of robust ordering policy to guarantee that the lower bound of expected profit obtained by us is tight, and get an robust optimal order quantity which is an exact solution but not an approximate one as before. Numerical experiments are conducted to illustrate the effect of penalties for balking and stockout.

In sequential auctions the phenomenon of declining prices is often observed, which in theory can be represented by a supermartingale. This paper employs the perspective that bidders' values may change over stages and the common priors are sequentially adjusted by the remaining bidders. It is shown that the declining price sequence can be explained by the adjustment of common priors between auctions. The adjustment of common priors is characterized by stochastic orders. Sufficient and necessary conditions for a supermartingale price sequence are derived.

Optimization approach of background value and initial item for improving prediction precision of gM(1,1) model

A combination method of optimization of the back-ground value and optimization of the initial item is proposed. The sequences of the unbiased exponential distribution are simulated and predicted through the optimization of the background value in grey differential equations. The principle of the new information priority in the grey system theory and the rationality of the initial item in the original gM（1,1） model are ful y expressed through the improvement of the initial item in the proposed time response function. A numerical example is employed to il ustrate that the proposed method is able to simulate and predict sequences of raw data with the unbiased exponential distribution and has better simulation performance and prediction precision than the original gM（1,1） model relatively.
