Because of its large capacity,high efficiency and energy savings,the subway has gradually become the primary mode of transportation for citizens.A high density of passengers exists within a large-passenger-flow subway station,and the number of casualties and injuries during a fire emergency is *** this paper,Pathfinder software and on-site measured data of Pingzhou station in Shenzhen(China)were utilized to simulate a fire emergency evacuation in a large-passenger-flow subway *** Required Safe Egress Time(RSET),number of passengers and flow rates of stairs and escalators were analysed for three fire evacuation scenarios:train fire,platform fire and hall *** evacuation time of the train fire,which was 1173 s,was the longest,and 3621 occupants needed to evacuate when the train was fully *** could not complete the evacuation within 6 mins in all three fire evacuation scenarios,which does not meet the current standard requirements and *** changing the number of passengers and the number of stairs for evacuation,the flow rate capacity and evacuation time were explored,which have reference values for safety management and emergency evacuation plan optimization during peak hours of subway operation.

Monitoring deformation is of critical importance for tunnel boring projects. This importance is further amplified for the metro construction project that involves boring beneath or near susceptible civil infrastructures. Here， we present a case study that uses robotic total station to preform automated deformation monitoring inside a tunnel during the excavation. Further， enabled with the Internet of Things technology， the monitoring data are streamlined through wireless internet access points and processed by a remote control center. A complete suite of software is deployed that can 1. process the monitoring data automatically. 2. set different triggering threshold reflecting various levels of hazardous incidents. 3. storing the data for further analysis that visualize the data， quantify overall risk levels and conduct predictive modelling. Built upon this automated system， a triage of risk response protocol is established that preforms reactive treatment according to the levels of reported hazards. A de-risk process， involving third party review， is also established. Overall， this report demonstrates our effort in monitoring the tunnel’s deformation with an automated system to save cost and reduce human induced errors. This report can be a useful reference for other engineers preforming metro tunneling tasks.

In this study,simulation software AnyLogic was used to establish a station simulation model for a metro ***,a basic model of the environment of the metro station was drawn,and accordingly,reasonable assumptions and simplifications were ***,a diagram of the passenger walking path was created and the simulation variables and functions for passenger flow management were *** Youfangqiao Station of Nanjing metro Line 2 in China as an example,the real passenger flow data of this station were statistically *** simulate the station passenger flow management,input parameters such as the passenger space diameter,passenger flow generation rate,delay rate of automatic fare collection equipment and security check machine,and the number of gates were *** flow management was optimized for the morning and evening peak periods,and reasonable suggestions were proposed based on the optimization results,providing a theoretical basis for the construction planning and pre-evaluation of station operation capacities of urban rail transit systems.

Numerical simulation and land subsidence control for deep foundation pit dewatering of Longyang Road Station on Shanghai metro Line 18

In terms of controlling groundwater in deep foundation pit projects, the usual methods include increasing the curtain depth, reducing the amount of pumped groundwater, and implementing integrated control, in order to reduce the drawdown and land subsidence outside pits. In dewatering design for confined water, factors including drawdown requirements, the thickness of aquifers, the depth of dewatering wells and the depth of cutoff curtains have to be considered comprehensively and numerical simulations are generally conducted for calculation and analysis. Longyang Road Station on Shanghai metro Line 18 is taken as the case study subject in this paper, a groundwater seepage model is developed according to the on-site engineering geological conditions and hydrogeological conditions, the excavation depth of the foundation pit as well as the design depth of the enclosure, hydrogeological parameters are determined via the pumping test, and the foundation pit dewatering is simulated by means of the three-dimensional finite difference method, which produces numerical results that consistent with real monitoring data as to the groundwater table. Besides, the drawdown and the land subsidence both inside and outside the pit caused by foundation pit dewatering are calculated and analyzed for various curtain depths. This study reveals that the drawdown and the land subsidence change faster near the curtain with the increase in the curtain depth, and the gradient of drawdown and land subsidence changes dwindles beyond certain depths. In this project, the curtain depth of 47/49 m is adopted, and a drawdown-land subsidence verification test is completed given hanging curtains before the excavation. The result turns out that the real measurements basically match the calculation results from the numerical simulation, and by increasing the depth of curtains, the land subsidence resulting from dewatering is effectively controlled.

The basic composition and working principle of wireless collision avoidance and early warning system based on spread spectrum ranging which is used in urban mass transit is introduced in this paper. Some performance indicators such as maximum measured distance and range errors are theoretically analyzed and numerically calculated. According to the characteristics of the urban mass transit, the applicability of the system is evaluated.

With the rapid development of rail transit,effectively developing urban underground space(UUS)in the metro zone has become an important approach to expanding urban ***,UUS is currently facing problems,such as an uneven distribution or even loss of vitality,which restricts the utilization efficiency of the ***,we established a UUS environmental assessment system based on the‘‘comfort-aesthetic-function-traffic-structure”using space syntax,instrumental measurement,and questionnaire *** constructing a partial-least-square structural equation model,the internal relationships between the UUS environment and corresponding space vitality and space perception under different study areas,namely the underground transportation-oriented space(transportation space for short)and the underground commercial-oriented space(commercial space for short),were studied in detail throughout the working *** indicate the following:(1)the UUS in the metro zone environment influences spatial *** vitality distribution of transportation space is significantly affected by the spatial traffic and *** vitality distribution of commercial space is significantly affected by the spatial function and traffic.(2)The environment of UUSs in the metro zone influences users’s *** perception of transportation space is significantly affected by aesthetics and *** perception of commercial space is significantly affected by aesthetic,comfort,and spatial functions.(3)The user’s perception affects vitality,and the effect is more significant in commercial *** study provides an in-depth understanding of the relationship between the complex environment and its spatial vitality as well as the spatial perception of the UUS in metro *** research results provide a novel approach and theoretical basis for the development and application of UUS vitality in various cities.

Security situation awareness is a new technology about security. This paper brings it to the assessment of security situation of metro station which serves as a new way to secure the security of passengers as well as the operation of the metro station. This paper sets up an index system for assessing the security situation awareness and makes a prediction model for the security situation of metro station based on PSO/SVM after doing lots of researches and analyses. Furthermore, through case studies, we find that the model has high accuracy and ability to accurately predict the security situation of metro station in the future and a certain practical value.

To evaluate the effects of possible ground explosion on a shallow-buried metro tunnel, this paper attempts to analyze the dynamic responses of the operating metro tunnel in soft soil, using a widely applied explicit dynamic nonlinear finite element software ANSYS/LS-DYNA. The blast induced wave propagation in the soil and the tunnel, and the von Mises effective stress and acceleration of the tunnel lining were presented, and the safety of the tunnel lining was evaluated based on the failure criterion. Besides, the parametric study of the soil was also carried out. The numerical results indicate that the upper part of the tunnel lining cross-section with directions ranging from 0° to 22.5° and horizontal distances 0 to 7 m away from the explosive center are the vulnerable areas, and the metro tunnel might be safe when tunnel depth is more than 7 m and TNT charge on the ground is no more than 500 kg, and the selection of soil parameters should be paid more attentions to conduct a more precise analysis.

To visualize and analyze the impact of uncertainty on the geological subsurface,on the term of the geological attribute probabilities(GAP),a vector parameters-based method is *** local data with error distribution,a GAP isosurface suite is first obtained by the Monte Carlo *** vector parameters including normal vector,curvatures and their entropy are used to measure uncertainties of the isosurface *** vector parameters except curvature and curvature entropy are visualized as line features by distributing them over their respective equivalent structure surfaces or concentrating on the initial *** curvature and curvature entropy presented with color map to reveal the geometrical variation on the perturbed *** multiple-dimensional scaling(MDS)method is used to map GAP isosurfaces to a set of points in lowdimensional space to obtain the total diversity among these equivalent probability *** example of a bedrock surface structure in a metro station shows that the presented method is applicable to quantitative description and visualization of uncertainties in geological *** plots shows differences of total diversity caused by different error distribution parameters or different distribution types.
