Objectives:An enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA)and colloidal gold-based immunochromatographic(ICG)strip assay will be developed for the rapid and high-throughput detection of atrazine(ATZ)in medicinal ***:A monoclonal antibody against ATZ was obtained after the immunization of mice,cell fusion,and hybridoma screening,and the antibody was used to develop direct competitive ELISA(dcELISA)and the ICG strip ***:Both dcELISA and ICG strip methods were established,optimized,and validated for the detection of ATZ in Salviae miltiorrhizae radix et rhizome,Astragali radix,and Isatidis *** had a half-maximum inhibition concentration of 10.56 ng/m L(Salviae miltiorrhizae radix et rhizome),7.6 ng/m L(Astragali radix),and 8.15 ng/m L(Isatidis radix).The limit of detection(LOD)of the ICG strip assay was 12.5 ng/mL(Salviae miltiorrhizae radix et rhizome),12.5 ng/mL(Astragali radix),and 6.25 ng/mL(Isatidis radix)in different herb *** to the recognition characteristics of the monoclonal antibody for the pesticides ATZ,propazine,sebuthylazine,and prometryn,the detection results of real samples by the two immunoassays were confirmed by liquid chromatography–tandem mass spectrometry,which proved the accuracy and reliability of the established ***:The proposed dcELISA and ICG strip methods were suitable for the rapid,convenient,and high-throughput detection of ATZ in these medicinal herbs.

Pedicularis longiflora ***(Orobanchaceae)is an abundant parasitic herb mainly found in the Xiaopohu wetland of the Qinghai Lake Basin in Northwestern *** species has an important local medicinal value,and in this study,we evaluated the chemical profile of its stems,leaves and seeds using mass *** samples of stems,leaves and seeds were grinded,weighted,and used for a series of extractions with an ultrasonic device at room *** chemical profiles for each tissue were determined using Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry(GC-MS)and Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry(LC-MS).Twenty-seven amino acids and organic acids were identified and quantified from stems,leaves and *** content of amino acids detected in leaves and seeds was higher than the amount found in *** fla-vonoids were also detected,including isoorientin,orientin,luteolin-7-O-glucoside,luteolin,apigenin and *** concentrations of luteolin-7-O-glucoside,luteolin and tricin were the highest and more concentrated in leaves,while that of orientin was the lowest and mainly found in *** monosaccharides and oligosaccharides below tetramer were also examined,and our analyses detected the presence of arabitol,fructose,galacturonic acid,glucose,glucuronic acid,inositol,sucrose,and *** is the first study to identify and quantify the main components of amino acids,organic acids,flavonoids and soluble sugars from stems,leaves and seeds of *** *** of the amino acids detected are essential for humans,highlighting the medicinal importance of this *** shown here can be used as a reference case to develop future studies on the chemical constituents of Pedicularis herbs and other medicinal plants from the Tibetan region.

Plants harbor diverse microbes(including bacteria,fungi,archaea,protists,and viruses)both inside and outside their tissues,so called the plant-associated *** of research have demonstrated the importance of plant microbiome in promoting the productivity and health of the plant in natural environment because of their essential functions in improving plant nutrition and plant resistance to biotic and abiotic stresses(Trivedi,Leach,Tringe,Sa,&Singh,2020).Thus,a plant can be regarded as a holobiont comprising the host plant and the associated microbiota(Hassani,Durán,&Hacquard,2018).Within the plant microbiota,mutualistic fungal and bacterial symbionts(*** fungi and Rhizobia)are striking examples of microorganisms playing crucial roles in nutrient acquisition(Martin&van der Heijden,2024)and non-symbitic plant growth-promoting rhizobacteria or fungi(PGPR or PGPF)also have drawn interest due to their ability to improve soil properties and confer stress tolerance in plants(Upadhyay et al.,2023).

Antiviral medicinal plants found in Lanna traditional medicine

Traditional medicine uses a multitude of plants to create medicinal formulations,some of which show antiviral properties that may be of benefit in treating emerging viral diseases,including ***,an ancient Kingdom in Northern Thailand,with a thriving culture that continues to this day and has a rich history of traditional medicine using local plants that is still practiced *** find potential antiviral medicinal candidates,we examined ancient manuscripts,interviewed traditional healers practicing today,and inventoried current traditional medicines to catalogue 1400 medicinal formulations used in Lanna traditional *** then narrowed this list to find those traditionally used to treat diseases that in their original use and descriptions most likely map to those we know today to be viral *** identified the plants used in these formulations to create a list of 64 potential antiviral herbal candidates drawn from this ancient Lanna wisdom and matched these to the scientific literature to see which of these plants had already been shown to possess antiviral properties,generating a list of64 potential antiviral medicinal candidates from Lanna traditional medicine worth further investigation for treating emerging viral diseases.

Endophytes from medicinal plants and their potential for producing indole acetic acid, improving seed germination and mitigating oxidative stress

medicinal plants have been used by marginal communities to treat various ailments. However, the potential of endophytes within these bio-prospective medicinal plants remains unknown. The present study elucidates the endophytic diversity of medicinal plants（Caralluma acutangula, Rhazya stricta, and Moringa peregrina） and the endophyte role in seed growth and oxidative stress. Various organs of medicinal plants yielded ten endophytes, which were identified as Phoma sp.（6 isolates）, Alternaria sp.（2）, Bipolaris sp.（1）, and Cladosporium sp.（1） based on 18 S rD NA sequencing and phylogenetic analysis. The culture filtrates（CFs; 25%, 50%, and 100% concentrations） from these endophytes were tested against the growth of normal and dwarf mutant rice lines. Endophytic CF exhibited dose-dependent growth stimulation and suppression effects. CF（100%） of Phoma sp. significantly increased rice seed germination and growth compared to controls and other endophytes. This growth-promoting effect was due to the presence of indole acetic acid in endophytic CF. The gas chromatography/mass spectrometry（GC/MS） analysis showed the highest indole acetic acid content（（54.31±0.21） μmol/L） in Bipolaris sp. In addition, the isolate of Bipolaris sp. exhibited significantly higher radical scavenging and anti-lipid peroxidation activity than the other isolates. Bipolaris sp. and Phoma sp. also exhibited significantly higher flavonoid and phenolic contents. The medicinal plants exhibited the presence of bio-prospective endophytic strains, which could be used for the improvement of crop growth and the mitigation of oxidative stresses.

Evaluation and prediction of ecological suitability of medicinal plant American ginseng (panax quinquefolius)

Objective： American ginseng is a medicinal plant with large market demands,however,its producing areas are shrinking because of the continuous cropping obstacles in ***,it is urgent to establish a suitable model to determine the new producing *** we evaluated and predicted the suitable areas of American ginseng using the maximum entropy model（Max Ent）.Methods： Based on the 37 environmental variables over thirty years from 1970 to 20 0 0 and 226 global distribution points of American ginseng,Max Ent was used to determine the global ecological suitable areas for American *** Receiver Operating Curve（ROC）was used to evaluate the model prediction ***,an innovative ecological variable,the precipitation–temperature ratio,was established to indicate the climate characteristic in the American ginseng suitable areas based on the monthly precipitation and ***： The potential ecological suitable areas of American ginseng were primarily in Appalachian Mountain in America and Changbai Mountain in China,about in the range of 35 °N–50 °N,60 °W–120 °W and 35 °N–50 °N,110 °E–145 °E,respectively,including the United States,Canada,China,North Korea,South Korea,Russia and *** Korea and Japan were the potential producing *** precipitation–temperature ratios were stable at（0.22,0.56）of the vigorous growth period（April–October）in the best suitable areas of American ginseng,serving as characteristic parameters to optimize the prediction *** model showed that the common soil parameters were pH 4.5–7.2,Base Saturation（BS）above 80%,Cation Exchange Capacity（CEC）10–20 cmol/kg,organic carbon（OC）〈 1.4%,and the soil types were sandy loam or ***： An optimized Max Ent model was established to predict the producing area for American ginseng that needed to be validated by a field test.

medicinal plants of Chinese Pharmacopoeia and Daodi:Insights fromphylogeny and biogeography

Objective: The Chinese Pharmacopoeia(2015) includes 584 plant medicines, of which 284 also contain high quality subsets, so called "Daodi" components, where Daodi denotes superior clinical properties compared to non-Daodi counterparts despite being sourced from the same species. Commercial and clinical drivers of selection for Daodi have been described elsewhere. Our objective is to investigate the overall composition of Daodi to determine in what ways medicines with Daodi as a whole differ from the other plants of the Chinese Pharmacopoeia. A further objective is to characterise the Chinese Pharmacopoeia and Daodi in terms of the plant species including their traits and ***: We used trait analysis to identify whether Daodi species were significantly different from the remaining Chinese Pharmacopoeia plant species in any traits. We used biogeographic methods and an existing classification of Daodi into 10 regions to identify spatial patterns amongst the species. Regression and binomial analyses were used to test for over-and under-use of plant families and endemic *** for lineages were visualized using phylogenetic ***: We found that Daodi species(species with any Daodi subset) were more likely to be roots that are "hot" or "warm", and less likely to be "oxic", according to traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) concepts. Roots were over-represented in the Bei region, and whole plants over-represented in Guang. Both the Chinese Pharmacopoeia and Daodi indicated preferences for families not common in previously studied ethnopharmacopoeias, and fewer endemic species were represented than expected by ***: Using the phylogenetic and biogeographical methods, we highlighted patterns of plant use,and the biological characters of Daodi medicinal plants. Our study points towards cultural preferences in need of scientific explanation.

medicinal plants,since times immemorial,have been used in virtually all cultures for therapeutic *** arvensis(L.)is a well-known medicinal plant traditionally utilized for a varied range of disorders including wound healing,lung problems,kidney stones,urinary tract infections,gout,and rheumatic *** review is an attempt to summarize and comprehend the fragmented information until now published in the literature on the biochemical and toxicological perspective of *** literature was searched electronically from PubMed,EMBASE,Scopus,Science Direct,Ovid MEDLINE and Google *** was found that ethnomedical uses of *** plant and parts have been recorded throughout the world,where it has been used against a panoply of *** search has led to the identification of flavonoids,terpenoids,triterpenoid glycosides,phytosterols as main classes of secondary metabolites with a few other classes.A wide spectrum of in vivo and in vitro pharmacological activities have been reported from fresh plant material and its crude extracts and/or *** there is currently a dearth of structure-activity studies of the isolated compounds and mechanistic studies from this *** plant has also been reported for in vivo *** is clear from this review ***,though traditionally used by various cultures harbour a plethora of bioactive compounds exhibiting multifarious biological effects that could be exploited as ***,additional research work and structure-activity studies arekey prerequisite to transmute the empirical claims on the utilization of *** in folklore medicines and a food plant into scientific shreds of evidence.
