Objective:Many strategic efforts were made to address nurses'shortage in controlling Coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19),including recruiting student health *** review aimed to explore the contribution and involvement of nursing student volunteers during ***:A systematic review was registered in PROSPERO International *** databases for ar ticle search included:SCOPUS,EBSCO MEDLINE,Pub Med,Pro Quest,Springer,Sage Pub,and hand *** critical appraisal study quality using The Joanna Briggs *** extraction and synthesis used Population,Intervention,Comparison,Outcome,and Design(PICO and D)framework with thematic ***:Twelve studies were enrolled from 2545 retrieved,with 4 synthesized themes:(1)determinant of the involvement of nursing student volunteers during COVID-19,which includes 3 subthemes:motivations,perception,and barriers,(2)expectations and actual condition of nursing students as volunteers,(3)the need for nursing student volunteers,and(4)the impact and level of student volunteers'*** student volunteers contribute to providing direct or indirect services to ***:This review provides an overview of nursing student volunteers'needs useful in developing competency frameworks and the role of culturally sensitive volunteers in education and *** the future,student volunteers could choose the appropriate volunteer program and location according to their competence.

In recent years, ＂violent events against physicians＂ occurs frequently in China due to various reasons. They have been widely reported by Chinese and International media. Lancet recently published a couple of articles, entitled ＂Ending violence against doctors in China＂1 in May 2012 and ＂Appeal from Chinese doctors to end violence＂2 in November 2013. In early 2014 the BBC produced two reports about violence against physicians in China, and the Times Weekly raised the question ＂Why China＇s Doctors Are Getting Beat Up？＂, illustrating that engaging in frontline medical care in China is becoming a nightmare and disclosed the increasing harsh medical environment in China.3

Zataria multiflora Boiss is a perennial plant with a wide spectrum of biological and pharmacological activities including antidiabetic,antinociceptive,anti-asthmatic,anti-fever,anti-spastic,anti-oxidative,anti-inflammatory,and antimicrobial *** paper reviews the therapeutic effects of Zataria multiflora based on recent *** relevant reports were extracted by checking the electronic databases including PubMed,Scopus,Web of Science,and Google Scholar from the beginning of 2010 until the end of May *** neuroprotective effects of Zataria multiflora can be attributed to inhibition of acetylcholinesterase,enhancement of brain-derived neurotrophic factor,and alleviation of brain oxidative *** multiflora also exerts its protective effects on the respiratory system,liver,and kidney by reducing the level of inflammatory cytokines,scavenging the free radicals,and augmenting the antioxidant ***,Zataria multiflora accelerates wound healing via upregulating transforming growth factor-β,insulin-like growth factor 1,fibroblast growth factor 2,and vascular endothelial growth factor,and inducing angiogenesis and collagen ***,the protective impacts of Zataria multiflora on different organs are mainly attributed to its antioxidant and antiinflammatory properties.

Nursing students have uniqueness within the general university student population as they are among the primary practitioners of the “Healthy China Strategy 2030” and guardians of people’s health. Innovating and strengthening ideological and political education for nursing students, enhancing their skills in serving the people, is a significant political task for medical universities. Against the backdrop of the “Healthy China Strategy,” how to effectively improve nursing students’ professional competencies, integrate life education, medical humanities education, and general ideological and political education, and utilize life education to construct a more suitable ideological and political education system for nursing students, in order to better establish correct worldviews, values, and professional outlooks, are urgent practical issues that need to be addressed in ideological and political education in medical universities. This article takes life education as an entry point and focuses on integrating it with the internalization and unification of ideological and political education courses, aiming to explore the possibilities and new pathways for integrating life education into the ideological and political education of nursing students in the new era.

New Nurse Perceptions of Preparedness: Elements of Academic-Practice Gap

The education-practice gap, also known as the academic-practice gap is recognized as the difference between what a nursing student is taught and what the new nurse will experience in practice. This study evaluated specific education outcomes of schools of nursing in New Hampshire through surveys of new nurses and their employers. The responses were explored in relation to identified factors such as curriculum and clinical hours. The findings suggest that the new nurses felt prepared for practice, except in relationship to provision of care and medication administration for six or more patients. Of note is that 61% percent of participants were involved in errors and of these, 37.5% indicated that their education did not prepare them to administer medications to large groups. Evaluation of employer responses points to at least one and sometimes two levels of lower perception of perceived preparedness by the employer. The results highlight the differences between perceptions of preparedness of new nurse and employer, differences in perception of preparedness based on program type for specific gap elements, and the high rate of errors among new nurses. These results underscore the need for further research regarding the education practice gap, error factors, perceptions of preparedness for practice, and practice-readiness expectations of employers.

Effects of Polygala fallax Hemsl Water Extract on a Mouse Model of Gastric Motility Disorders

[Objectives]To explore the effects of Polygona fallax Hemsl water extract on gastrointestinal motility in normal mice and gastric motility disorder model mice and approximate mechanism.[Methods]Using normal mice and mice with gastric motility disorders(modeled with atropine),the effects of different mass concentration groups of *** Hemsl water extract(0.125,0.250,0.500 g/mL)and domperidone groups on gastric residual rate,small intestine propulsion rate,serum motilin(MLT),vasoactive intestinal peptide(VIP),and tissue morphology were studied.[Results]There was a highly significant difference(P<0.01)in the small intestine propulsion rate of liquid in normal mice among the different concentration groups of *** Hemsl water extract compared to the blank *** small intestine propulsion rate and gastric residue rate of semi-solid paste were statistically significant compared to the blank group(P<0.05).Among them,there was a highly significant difference between the high concentration group(67.75%±7.65%,46.5%±10.62%)and the medium concentration group(60.90%±5.87%,59.27%±7.82%)(P<0.01).There was statistical significance in normal mouse serum MLT content in the high concentration group(P<0.05).There was no effect on serum VIP levels in normal mice;no effect on the morphology of stomach and intestinal tissues of normal *** small intestine propulsion rate and gastric residue rate of liquid and semi-solid paste in mice with gastric motility disorders were statistically significant compared to the atropine group,with extremely significant differences(P<0.01).[Conclusions]*** Hemsl water extract has a promoting effect on gastrointestinal *** of the specific mechanisms by which *** Hemsl promotes gastrointestinal motility in normal mice may be related to the content of MLT in mouse *** mechanism of action in atropine induced gastric paresis mice may be related to the reactivation of M receptors,and the action mechanism of *** Hemsl d

Hepatitis B Vaccination in medical and Dental students: A Cross-Sectional Study

Background: medical and dental students are at risk of Hepatitis B Virus (HBV) infection. The study aimed to assess the vaccination status against Hepatitis B Virus of students in clinical and non-clinical years of a private medical and dental college, and their knowledge, attitude, and awareness about the subject. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted using a pretested, self-administered questionnaire among 203 medical and dental students of CMH Lahore medical College and Institute of Dentistry (CMH LMC & IOD) in Lahore, Pakistan. Participants were evaluated for their knowledge and vaccination status against Hepatitis B Virus. students were considered to be fully vaccinated (recipients of 3 doses), partially vaccinated (recipients of 1 or 2 doses), and unvaccinated. Comparisons were made between students of clinical and non-clinical years. Data was entered and analysed using Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) version 23. Results: Only 66% (n = 134) of the 203 participants had ever received a Hepatitis B Virus vaccine out of which a meagre 17.2% (n = 35) were fully vaccinated. No significant difference was found in vaccine uptake between students of clinical and non-clinical years (p-value = 0.181) despite significant differences seen in the knowledge of vaccination schedule (p-value = 0.001), the prevalence of needle-stick injuries (p-value = 0.001), and knowledge of protocols to be followed after a needle-stick injury (p-value = 0.001). Conclusion: Our study found that a large proportion of the student population is vulnerable to HBV infection. There is a need to create awareness regarding the subject to increase vaccine uptake. HBV vaccination should be offered to all currently enrolled students and be made mandatory at the time of admission in the future.
