Relevance of Hepatocyte Growth Factor and Fibroblast Growth Factor on Mouse Preimplantation Embryo Development

Objective To explore the effect of hepatocyte growth factor （HGF） and fibroblast growth factor （FGF） on preimplantation embryo development of mouse.Methods Mated mice were killed by cervical dislocation to collect two pronucleous （2 PN） zygotes from oviduct of pregnant 1 d NMRI mice and were cultured to the hatching blastocyst stage and the number of embryo in different stages was recorded under an invert microscope. The cleavage rates of formed 2 PN zygotes were compared with blastocyst and hatching blastocyst stage in drops of T6 medium with or without HGF or FGF （0 ng/ml, 10 ng/ml, 20 ng/ml, 50 ng/ml, 1 000 ng/ml）. Results HGF and FGF enriched embryo culture media promotea the aevetopment from 2 PN stage embryos to blastocyst. Adding 20 ng/ml of FGF or HGF to the culture medium significantly increased the percentage of 2PN embryos that developed into blastocysts （P〈0.05）, but culture of embryos in drops of T6 medium with HGF （20 ng/ml） had no improvement in in-vitro hatching.Conclusion Exogenous HGF and FGF at low concentrations promote in-vitro mouse blastocyst formation.

BACKGROUND Among the most frequent hip fractures are trochanteric fractures,which usually occur from low-energy trauma like minor falls,especially in older people with osteoporotic *** To evaluate the treatment efficacy of dynamic condylar screws(DCS)and proximal femoral nails(PFN)for unstable intertrochanteric *** To find pertinent randomized controlled trials and retrospective observational studies comparing PFN with DCS for the management of unstable femoral intertrochanteric fractures,a thorough search was carried *** research studies published between January 1996 and April 2024,PubMed,EMBASE,Scopus,Web of Science,Cochrane Library,and Google Scholar were all *** complete texts of the papers were retrieved,vetted,and independently examined by two *** were settled by consensus,and any disagreements that persisted were arbitrated by a third *** This study included six articles,comprising a total of 173 *** to the DCS,the PFN had a shorter operation time[mean difference(MD):-41.7 min,95%confidence interval(95%CI):-63.04 to-20.35,P=0.0001],higher success rates with closed reduction techniques[risk ratio(RR):34.05,95%CI:11.12-104.31,P<0.00001],and required less intraoperative blood transfusion(MD:-1.4 units,95%CI:-1.80 to-1.00,P<0.00001).Additionally,the PFN showed shorter fracture union time(MD:-6.92 wk,95%CI:-10.27 to-3.57,P<0.0001)and a lower incidence of reoperation(RR:0.37,95%CI:0.17-0.82,P=0.01).However,there was no discernible variation regarding hospital stay,implant-related complications,and *** Compared to DCS,PFN offers shorter operative times,reduces the blood transfusions requirements,achieves higher closed reduction success,enables faster fracture healing,and lowers reoperation incidence.

Background: Postpartum depression is the most common psychological health problem among females;it begins after the birth of the child and can occur at any time during the first year of delivery. The COVID-19 pandemic is a novel virus that is highly infectious and has several negative psychological impacts on individuals globally. Aim: Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has been reported to increase the incidence rate of depression. We investigated the prevalence rate and associated factors of postpartum depression (PPD) among women in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, during the COVID-19 period, thereby attempting to determine whether and how COVID-19 affected PPD. Methods: This is a cross-sectional study that was conducted on women at one week to six months postpartum using an online questionnaire. SPSS program was used for analyzing data. Results: This study included 150 participated women;49.3% were in the age range of 25 - 34 years old. There were 30.7% reported being primigravida. Background: Breast cancer is the most common malignancy among women in Saudi Arabia. Despite the availability of early detection methods to diagnose breast cancer, a huge number of women are still unaware about these methods. This study was conducted to identify the attitude of women in Medina toward breast cancer screening methods, including breast self-examination (BSE), clinical breast examination (CBE) and mammography. Methods and Materials: A cross-sectional survey has been conducted on 124 women aged from 39 and older, who attended Taibah medical Center for cancer screening either by doctor’s recommendation, family or friends advice, or by herself. Face to face questionnaire was used to collect data. All data were analyzed by statistical analysis system software. Results: The results showed only 35.5%, 27.4% and 37.8% of participants reported that they practiced BSE, CBE and annual mammography, respectively. Only 27.3% of women practiced BSE once per month, and 8.8% visited doctor annually for CBE. Both educational level (p = 0.004) and family history (p = 0.01) were significantly related to BSE. 57.7% of the participants who had positive family history practiced BSE, and 56.0% of the participants who practiced BSE were highly educated. Lacking awareness about BSE is the most important barrier in not practicing BSE, while not having a breast lump was the reason for not undergoing either clinical breast examination (38.7%) or periodic mammography (54.9%). Conclusion: This study emphasized the need for massive health education program to increase awareness, and improve the attitude of women toward breast cancer screening methods.

Objective:To analyze and explore the clinical application of gamma globulin in premature ***:We performed retrospective analysis of 83 premature infants with intravenous gamma globulin(IVIG) treatment in our hospital from December 2012 to December 2013 and compared the serum lg G levels and CRP levels of 61 patients of premature infant before and after gamma globulin *** also analyzed the potential association of the lg G levels and occurrence of infections in 16 cases of infection prevention in preterm children before and after *** further analyzed safety,effectiveness,and the cost of gamma globulin ***:Serum Ig G levels was significantly higher after gamma globulin treatment in comparison to the base line level before treatment(P <0.01).CRP levels were significantly reduced(P <0.01) in the 61 cases of infection in premature infants after *** premature infants received gamma globulin for infection *** them,9 cases(56.3%) developed ***:IVIG is an effective method for the treatment of infection in premature ***,IVIG may have dual roles,enhancing and suppressing,in the immune systems in children with preterm low birth weight(VLBW).Therefore,it is not recommended to use IVIG in VLBW *** of IVIG to premature infants must be strictly controlled.
