Epilepsy is a severe,relapsing,and multifactorial neurological *** regarding the accurate diagnosis,prognosis,and in-depth pathogenesis are crucial for the precise and effective treatment of *** pathogenesis of epilepsy is complex and involves alterations in variables such as gene expression,protein expression,ion channel activity,energy metabolites,and gut microbiota *** results are lacking for conventional treatments for *** resection of lesions,drug therapy,and non-drug interventions are mainly used in clinical practice to treat pain associated with ***-pharmacological treatments,such as a ketogenic diet,gene therapy for nerve regeneration,and neural regulation,are currently areas of research *** review provides a comprehensive overview of the pathogenesis,diagnostic methods,and treatments of *** also elaborates on the theoretical basis,treatment modes,and effects of invasive nerve stimulation in neurotherapy,including percutaneous vagus nerve stimulation,deep brain electrical stimulation,repetitive nerve electrical stimulation,in addition to non-invasive transcranial magnetic stimulation and transcranial direct current *** studies have shown that electromagnetic stimulation-mediated neuromodulation therapy can markedly improve neurological function and reduce the frequency of epileptic ***,many new technologies for the diagnosis and treatment of epilepsy are being ***,current research is mainly focused on analyzing patients’clinical manifestations and exploring relevant diagnostic and treatment methods to study the pathogenesis at a molecular level,which has led to a lack of consensus regarding the mechanisms related to the disease.

Appreciation of soft-tissue thickness(STT)at surgical sites is an increasingly recognized aspect of arthroplasty procedures as it may potentially impacting postoperative *** research has focused on the predictive value of preoperative STT measurements for complications following various forms of arthroplasty,particularly infections,across procedures such as total knee,hip,shoulder,and ankle *** studies have indicated that increased STT is associated with a higher risk of complications,including infection and wound healing *** assessment of STT before surgery could play a crucial role in identifying patients at a higher risk of complications and may be instru-mental in guiding preoperative planning to optimize outcomes in arthroplasty *** measurement techniques and further research are essential to enhance the reliability and clinical utility of STT assessment for arthro-plasty surgery.

G-quadruplexes(GQs) are guanine-rich, non-canonical nucleic acid structures that play fundamental roles in biological processes. The topology of GQs is associated with the sequences and lengths of DNA, the types of linking loops, and the associated metal cations. However, our understanding on the basic physical properties of the formation process and the stability of GQs is rather limited. In this work, we employed ab initio, molecular dynamics(MD), and steered MD(SMD)simulations to study the interaction between loop bases and ions, and the effect on the stability of G-quadruplex DNA, the Drude oscillator model was used in MD and SMD simulations as a computationally efficient manner method for modeling electronic polarization in DNA ion solutions. We observed that the binding energy between DNA bases and ions(K^(+)/Na^(+))is about the base stacking free energies indicates that there will be a competition among the binding of M^(+)-base, H-bonds between bases, and the base-stacking while ions were bound in loop of GQs. Our SMD simulations indicated that the side loop inclined to form the base stacking while the loop sequence was Thy or Ade, and the cross-link loop upon the G-tetrads was not easy to form the base stacking. The base stacking side loop complex K+was found to have a good stabilization synergy. Although a stronger interaction was observed to exist between Cyt and K+, such an interaction was unable to promote the stability of the loop with the sequence Cyt.

G-quadruplexes(GQs) are guanine-rich, non-canonical nucleic acid structures that play fundamental roles in biological processes. Their structure and function are strongly influenced by their hydration shells. Although extensively studied through various experimental and computational methods, hydration patterns near DNA remain under debate due to the chemically and topologically heterogeneous nature of the exposed surface. In this work, we employed all-atom molecular dynamics(MD) simulation to study the hydration patterns of GQ DNA. The Drude oscillator model was used in MD simulation as a computationally efficient method for modeling electronic polarization in DNA ion solutions. Hydration structure was analyzed in terms of radial distribution functions and high-density three-dimensional hydration sites. Analysis of hydration dynamics focused on self-diffusion rates and orientation time correlation at different structural regions of GQ *** results show highly heterogeneous hydration patterns in both structure and dynamics;for example, there are several insular high-density sites in the inner channel, and ‘spine of water’ in the groove. For water inside the loop, anomalous diffusion is present over a long time scale, but for water around the phosphate group and groove, diffusion becomes normal after ~30 ps. These essentially correspond to deeply buried structural water and strong interaction with DNA, respectively.

Axial-flow pumps are widely employed in urban flood control and drainage pumping *** inlet vortex is one factor that seriously threaten the safe,stable and efficient operation of axial-flow pump *** this paper,the vortex recognition performances of two vortex identification methods,the Q—criterion and Liutex methods,are compared based on an axial-flow pump,and the interactions between the impeller and vortex are explored.A flat plate vortex generator is installed in front of the impeller to continuously induce a stable *** numerical simulation results show that the Liutex method can not only simultaneously identify strong and weak vortices but also reduce the influence of shear force at the *** vortex and the impeller influence each *** the influence of rotating blades,the vortex changes from a low frequency to the blade frequency,and the vortex significantly changes the tangential velocity inside the *** accuracy of the numerical simulation results is verified by experiments on the external and internal characteristics.

The hydrogenic donor impurity states and intersubband optical absorption spectra in monolayer transition metal dichalcogenides(ML TMDs) under dielectric environments are theoretically investigated based on a two-dimensional(2D)nonorthogonal associated Laguerre basis set. The 2D quantum confinement effect together with the strongly reduced dielectric screening results in the strong attractive Coulomb potential between electron and donor ion, with exceptionally large impurity binding energy and huge intersubband oscillator strength. These lead to the strong interaction of the electron with light in a 2D regime. The intersubband optical absorption spectra exhibit strong absorption lines of the non-hydrogenic Rydberg series in the mid-infrared range of light. The strength of the Coulomb potential can be controlled by changing the dielectric environment. The electron affinity difference leads to charge transfer between ML TMD and the dielectric environment, generating the polarization-electric field in ML TMD accompanied by weakening the Coulomb interaction strength. The larger the dielectric constant of the dielectric environment, the more the charge transfer is, accompanied by the larger polarization-electric field and the stronger dielectric screening. The dielectric environment is shown to provide an efficient tool to tune the wavelength and output of the mid-infrared intersubband devices based on ML TMDs.
