In this paper, we propose a method to select the observation position in visual servoing with an eye-in-vehicle configuration for the manipulator. In traditional visual servoing, the images taken by the camera may have various problems, including being out of view, large perspective aberrance, improper projection area of object in images and so on. In this paper, we propose a method to determine the observation position to solve these problems. A mobile robot system with pan-tilt camera is designed, which calculates the observation position based on an observation and then moves there. Both simulation and experimental results are provided to validate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

A modified explanation of cold nuclear matter effects on J/ψ production in p+A collisions

A modified explanation of the cold nuclear matter （CNM） effects on J/ψ production in p＋A collisions is presented in this paper. The advantage of the modified explanation is that all the CNM effects implemented in this model have clear physical origins and are mostly centered on the idea of multiple parton scattering. With the CNM effects presented in this paper, we calculated the nuclear modification factor RpA in J/ψ production under different collision energies. The results are compared with the corresponding experiment data and the factors calculated with classic nuclear effects. The factors calculated with CNM effects presented in this paper can accurately reproduce almost all existing J/ψ measurements in p-A collisions, which is much better than results obtained with the factors calculated with classic nuclear effects. The new model is therefore a more suitable approach to explain CNM effects in the hardproduction of quarkonium.

Basic characteristics of active tectonics of China

During the last 20 years, studies on active tectonics in China have entered a new quan-titative research stage and made a great progress. Summing up the quantitative results, a Map of Active Tectonics of China on the scale of 1︰4 million has been compiled. In the map all types of active tectonics and their kinematic parameters are reflected in possible detail, such as active faults, active folds, active basins, active blocks, volcanoes, and earthquakes. This paper summa-rizes the basic characteristics of active tectonics of China. The Himalaya Mountains and Taiwan Island are major plate boundaries where the slip rates are larger than 15 mm/a. Tectonic activity in the continental intraplate region is characterized by block motion. The crust and lithosphere in the region were dissected into blocks with different orders. Of them the Qinghai-xizang (Tibet), xin- jiang, and North China block regions exhibit the most recent tectonic activity. The kinematic char-acteristics of more than 200 active tectonic zones indicate that the intraplate tectonic activity represents a block motion at a limited low rate. Horizontal slip rate along the tectonic boundary belts between the blocks is generally less than 10 mm/a, and 10—15 mm/a in maximum, and hence it does not support the continental escape theory of high rate of slip.

The effect of N_(2)-plasma-treated SiO_(2) interfacial layer on the interfacial and electrical characteristics of HfO_(2)/SiO_(2)/p-Si stacks grown by atomic layer deposition(ALD) was *** microstructure and interfacial chemical bonding configuration of the HfO_(2)/SiO_(2)/Si stacks were also examined by high-resolution transmission electron microscopy(HRTEM) and x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(xPS).Compared with the samples without N2-plasma treatment,it is found that the samples with N2-plasma treatment have less oxygen vacancy density for SiO_(2) interfacial layer and better HfO_(2)/SiO_(2) *** agreement with xPS analyses,electrical measurements of the samples with N2-plasma treatment show better interfacial quality,including lower interface-state density(Dit,9.3 × 1011 cm^(-2)·eV^(-1) near midgap) and lower oxidecharge density(Q_(ox),2.5 × 1012 cm^(-2)),than those of the samples without N_(2)-plasma ***,the samples with N_(2)-plasma treatment have better electrical performances,including higher saturation capacitance density(1.49 μF·cm^(-2)) and lower leakage current density(3.2 × 10^(-6) A·cm^(-2) at V_(g)=V_(fb)-1 V).Furthermore,constant voltage stress was applied on the gate electrode to investigate the reliability of these *** shows that the samples with N_(2)-plasma treatment have better electrical stability than the samples without N_(2)-plasma treatment.

Pharmacologically inactive substances have been used in medicine for more than 700 years and can trigger beneficial responses in the human body, which is referred to as the placebo effects or placebo responses. This effect is robust enough to influence psychosocial and physiological responses to the placebo and to active treatments in many settings, which has led to increased interest from researchers. In this article, we summarise th history of placebo, the characteristics of placebo effects and recent advancements reported from the studies on placebo effects and highlight placebome studies to identif various molecular biological components associated with placebo effects. Although placebos have a long history, the placebome concept is still in its infancy. Although behavioural, neurobiological and genetic studies have identified that molecules in the dopamine, opioid, serotoni and endocannabinoid systems might be targets of the placebo effect, placebome studies with a no-treatment control (NTC) are necessary to identify whole-genome genetic targets. Although bioinformatics analysis has identified the molecular placebome module, placebome studies with NTCs are also required to validate the related findings.

A crucial part of proposed earthquake early warning systems is a rapid estimate for earthquake *** of these methods are focused on the first part of the P-wave train,the earlier and less destructive part of the ground motion that follows an earthquake.A method has been proposed by using the period of the P-wave to determine the magnitude of a large earthquake at local distance,and a specific relation for the Sichuan region was calibrated according to acceleration records of Wenchuan *** Mw 6.6 earthquake hit Lushan County,Sichuan,on April 20,2013 and the largest aftershocks provide a useful dataset to validate the proposed relation and discuss the risks connected to the extrapolation of magnitude relations with a poor dataset of large earthquake waveforms.A discrepancy between the local magnitude(ML)estimated by means ofτc evaluation and the standard ML(6.4 vs.7.0)suggests using caution when ML vs.τc calibrations do not include a relevant dataset of large *** from large residuals could be mitigated or removed by introducing selection rules onτc function,by regionalizing the ML vs.τc function in the presence of significant tectonic or geological heterogeneity,and by using probabilistic and evolutionary methods.

A new direction toward the future of orthopedic implants is to combine biodegradable Mg alloys with permanent Ti to produce selectively biodegradable hybrid joints for advanced tissue ***,the strong galvanic corrosion between Mg and Ti is a major issue to be *** work aims to explore plasma electrolytic oxidation(PEO)as a single-step coating treatment to allow for an acceptable degradation behavior of MgTi hybrid *** this end,MgTi hybrid joints were produced through the heat treatment of Mg-0.6Ca and commercially pure Ti specimens at 640°C for 8 h.A single-step PEO treatment was then employed to create a protective layer on the surface of hybrid *** though the scanning electron microscopy(SEM)images showed only a porosity of 6%and 12%within the PEO layers on single Mg and MgTi couples,3D investigation of the synchrotron-based microtomography data demonstrated a porosity of 18%and 30%with a considerable number of interconnected *** to the electrochemical impedance spectroscopy measurements,the impedance modulus at all frequencies on coated MgTi coupled specimens was lower than that on the coated single Mg-0.6Ca and pure ***,the application of PEO treatment significantly decreased the strong galvanic degradation of Mg-0.6Ca in contact with *** results of hydrogen evolution tests revealed that PEO-treated MgTi couples showed a similar degradation behavior as the single alloy during the first day of immersion.

Micromorphology of solonetz species with special attention to natric horizon was studied in microcatenas at the Dzhanybek Research Station (northwestern Caspian Lowland). The solonetzic (natric) horizon is easily identified, and it occurs at varying depths, which are the criteria for subdividing solonetzes into 4 species, namely, crusty, shallow, medium and deep. In this sequence, the depth of humus-accumulative horizons increases, and the upper boundary of salinity manifestations goes down. The following micromorphological features are assumed as typical for natric horizons: angular blocky microstructures with partially accommodated aggregates having sharp boundaries and narrow plane-like packing voids; b-fabric speckled in the aggregates' centers and monostriated at their peripheries merging into stress coatings; very few interpedal voids; organo-clay coatings; humusenriched infillings; no calcite and gypsum pedofeatures. A complete set of "natric" features was found only in the crusty solonetz; the shallow solonetz lacks only illuviation coatings, while the medium and deep species have several modifications of fabric elements: blocky aggregates have a rounded shape and are penetrated by biogenic channels favoring their further biogenic reworking; plant residues became more abundant and diverse, and blackened tissues occur; illuviation clay coatings evolved into papules; stress coatings gave birth to striated b- fabrics, thus maintaining a high plasma orientation. The thin sections of natric horizons made 50 and 20 years ago were examined to study the influence of environmental changes (increase in precipitation and rise of ground water table) on micropedofeatures. The following processes took place: (i) in the topsoil: humus accumulation and biogenic structurization; (ii) in the natric horizon-re-arrangement of clay coatings into micromass b-fabrics; and (iii) in the lower part of the natric horizon-development of pseudosand fabric, calcite and gypsum formation.
