Microstructures and formation mechanism of hypoeutectic white cast iron by isothermal electromagnetic rheocast process

An investigation was made on the evolution of microstructures of hypoeutectic white cast iron slurry containing 2.5wt.%C and 1.8wt.%Si produced by rheocasting in which the solidifying alloy was vigorously agitated by electromagnetic stirrer during isothermal cooling *** results indicated that under the proper agitating temperatures and speeds applied,the dendrite structures in white cast iron slurry were gradually evolved into spherical structures during a certain agitating *** also revealed that the bent dendrites were formed by either convection force or by the growth of the dendrites themselves in the bending direction;then,as they were in solidifying,they were gradually being alternated into separated particles and into more spherical structures at the end of the isothermal cooling ***,the dendrites were granulated as the bending process proceeding,which suggested that they were caused by unwanted elements such as sulfur and phosphor usually contained in engineering cast ***-ow of the melt caused corrosion on the dendritic segments where they were weaker in strength and lower in melting temperature because of higher concentration of sulfur or *** the granulation process for such dendrites formed in the melt became possible under the ***,dendrite fragments are another factors considerable to function for spherical particles formation.A new mechanism,regarding to the rheocast structure formation of white cast iron,was suggested based on the structural evolution observed in the study.

Research of the test generation algorithm based on search state dominance for combinational circuit

On the basis of EST (Equivalent STate hashing) algorithm, this paper researches a kind of test generation algorithm based on search state dominance for combinational circuit. According to the dominance relation of the E-frontier (evaluation frontier), we can prove that this algorithm can terminate unnecessary searching step of test pattern earlier than the EST algorithm through some examples, so this algorithm can reduce the time of test generation. The test patterns calculated can detect faults given through simulation.

Demyelination and remyelination have been major focal points in the study of peripheral nerve regeneration following peripheral nerve ***,the gene regulatory network of regenerated myelin differs from that of native *** of enhancer of zeste homolog 2(EZH2)hinders the differentiation,maturation,and myelination of Schwann cells in *** further determine the role of EZH2 in myelination and recovery post-peripheral nerve injury,conditional knockout mice lacking Ezh2 in Schwann cells(Ezh2^(fl/fl);Dhh-Cre and Ezh2^(fl/fl);Mpz-Cre)were *** results show that a significant proportion of axons in the sciatic nerve of Ezh2-depleted mice remain *** highlights the crucial role of Ezh2 in initiating Schwann cell ***,we observed that 21 days after inducing a sciatic nerve crush injury in these mice,most axons had remyelinated at the injury site in the control nerve,while Ezh2^(fl/fl);Mpz-Cre mice had significantly fewer remyelinated axons compared with their wild-type *** suggests that the absence of Ezh2 in Schwann cells impairs myelin formation and *** conclusion,EZH2 has emerged as a pivotal regulatory factor in the process of demyelination and myelin regeneration following peripheral nerve *** EZH2 activity during these processes may offer a promising therapeutic target for the treatment of peripheral nerve injuries.

Urban One-way Traffic Organization and Its evaluation

With its evolution advantages and disadvantages introduced its setting conditions demonstrated. The general method and processes are summarized in planning for urban one-way streets project viz. investigation drawing out and evaluation of project selecting of project and beneficial analysis. Fuzzy synthetical evaluation other fields is employed to evaluate the project. Its evaluation system and method is introduced and Delphi method is adopted to obtain evaluation index. Finally taking Harbin city as an example the application process of above-mentioned method is illuminated. Accordingly it is proved that the method is exercisable.

Study on eight-pass dual-frequency laser interferometer with nanometer precision

A new dual-frequency laser displacement measurement interferometer with nanometer precision has been developed. An eight-pass optical subdivision technology is proposed to improve resolution based on commercial interferometers. A static positioning error measuring method has been used to examine the precision and repeatability of the laser interferometer. An optical resolution of 1.24 nm and an accuracy of nanometer scale have been achieved.

Electrochemical characterization of AlPO_(4) coated LiNi_(1/3)Co_(1/3)Mn_(1/3)O_(2) cathode materials for high temperature lithium battery application

Aluminum phosphate(AlPO_(4))was used to modify the surface of LiNi_(1/3)Co_(1/3)Mn_(1/3)O_(2)(NCM)cathode *** surface structure and electrochemical properties of the coated materials were investigated by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS)and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS).The results confirm the formation of aluminum-containing solid solution on the surface of NCM *** aluminum phosphate coating blocks the Li+insertion-extraction process in cells charged at high rates at room temperature,increasing surface film resistance and decreasing discharge ***,an aluminum phosphate aids the formation of a stable solid electrolyte interface film on NCM surface and stabilizes the Rct of cell as samples electrochemically cycled at 55℃.The electrochemical studies suggest that the initial columbic efficiency is significantly *** NCM sample coated with 1.0 wt%AlPO_(4) delivers a higher discharge capacity and shows excellent capacity retention ability.

Using UNAIDS’s organizing framework to assess Nigeria’s national HIV monitoring and evaluation system

The Nigeria National Response Management Information System (NNRIMS), developed in 2004 as a framework for monitoring and evaluating the country’s response to HIV, does not function at an optimum level due to several challenges, including a confusing proliferation of vertical reporting systems, competition among sectors, and the nascent nature of the monitoring and evaluation (M&E) sub-systems within many institutions. An assessment of the existing M&E system was conducted to verify whether the system has the capacities to provide essential data for monitoring the epidemic and identifying critical programming gaps. Nigeria’s National Agency for the Control of AIDS (NACA) used an organizing framework for a national HIV M&E system developed by UNAIDS, to assess the strengths and weaknesses of the NNRIMS to generate data for evidence-based decisionmaking. The participatory approach used during an assessment workshop ensured that the process was country-led and -owned to build consensus and local capacity, and that it encouraged adoption of a single national-level multisectoral HIV M&E system. The assessment found an operable M&E system at the national level but a much weaker system at the state and local levels and across seven other sectors. There are multiple data collection and reporting tools at the facility level that lead to vertical reporting systems, which increases the burden of reporting at lower levels, especially by service providers. Human resources are being developed, but problems remain with the quantity and quality of staff. Data use, though evident at the national level, is still very weak among five of the seven sectors assessed. The assessment results have been used to develop a national costed M&E workplan to which all stakeholders contributed in a coordinated response to strengthen the system.

Phase field modeling of dendritic coarsening during isothermal solidification

Dendritic coarsening in AI-2mol%Si alloy during isothermal solidification at 880K was investigated by phase field modeling. Three coarsening mechanisms operate in the alloy：（a） melting of small dendrite arms; （b） coalescence of dendrites near the tips leading to the entrapment of liquid droplets; （c） smoothing of dendrites. Dendrite melting is found to be dominant in the stage of dendritic growth, whereas coalescence of dendrites and smoothing of dendrites are dominant during isothermal holding. The simulated results provide a better understanding of dendrite coarsening during isothermal solidification.

New filling system design for bolster casting and computer simulation

The new filling system is smooth filling without gas gap. It works well in avoiding the generation of defects such as porosity and inclusion. The pouring basin, sprue, runner and the gate of the bolster casting were designed according to the principle of the new filling system. The filling and solidifciation process of the bolster casting were also simulated. It was found that the filling process was smooth, and air entrapment and shrinkage were avoided. Finally, a further validation of the new filling system of bolster casting was carried out in a foundry.
