One-neutron stripping process between^(6)Li and^(209)Bi was studied at 28,30,and 34 MeV using the in-beamγ-ray spectroscopy ***γ-γcoincident analysis clearly identified twoγ-rays feeding the ground and long-lived isomeric states,which were employed to determine the cross *** one-neutron stripping cross sections were similar to the cross sections of complete fusion in the^(6)Li+^(209)Bi system,but the one-neutron stripping cross sections decreased more gradually at the sub-barrier region.A coupled-reaction-channel calculation was performed to study the detailed reaction mechanism of the one-neutron stripping process in^(6)*** calculations indicated that the first excited state of 5 Li is critical in the actual one-neutron transfer mechanism,and the valence proton of 209Bi can be excited to the low-lying excited state in(^(6)Li,^(5)Li)reaction,unlike in the(d,p)reaction.

The impact of the COVID-19 prevention and economic interventions on express delivery industry:Evidence from China

As a fundamental logistics service,the express delivery(ED)industry provides production and consumption activities to maintain efficient supply chain *** plays an important role in promoting industrial development and maintaining daily life and *** study examined the effects of COVID-19 on the ED industry using ED package delivery data from 31 provinces(autonomous regions and municipalities)in *** a difference-in-differences method,the COVID-19 outbreak was found to have a positive effect and epidemic prevention and control(EPC)policies were found to have negative effects on the development of the ED *** addition to EPC policies,the Chinese government has implemented other short-term economic interventions(SEI),such as the resumption of work and production(RWP),policies to balance economic growth,and epidemic *** study divided the pandemic period into three stages to analyze the different impacts of EPC and SEI policy changes on the ED *** RWP policies adopted during the pandemic positively impacted the volume and income of packages delivered to the ED *** conclusions of this study are significant for the ED industry in addressing public health emergencies and for the Chinese government to formulate EPC and SEI policies during epidemic periods.

Evaluation of COVID-19 Cases and Vaccinations in the State of Georgia, United States: A Spatial Perspective

This study evaluates the distribution of COVID-19 cases and mass vaccination campaigns from January 2020 to April 2023. There are over 235,000 COVID-19 cases and over 733,000 vaccinations across the 159 counties in the state of Georgia. Data on COVID-19 was acquired from *** while the vaccination records were obtained from COVID-19 vaccination tracker. The spatial patterns across the counties were analyzed using spatial statistical techniques which include both global and local spatial autocorrelation. The study further evaluates the effect of vaccination and selected socio-economic predictors on COVID-19 cases across the study area. The result of hotspot analysis reveals that the epicenters of COVID-19 are distributed across Cobb, Fulton, Gwinnett, and deKalb counties. It was also affirmed that the vaccination records followed the same pattern as COVID-19 cases’ epicenters. The result of the spatial error model performed well and accounted for a considerable percentage of the regression with an adjusted R squared of 0.68, Akaike Information Criterion (AIC) 387.682 and Breusch-Pagan of 9.8091. ESDA was employed to select the main explanatory variables. The selected variables include vaccination, population density, percentage of people that do not have health insurance, black race, Hispanic and these variables accounted for 68% of the number of COVID-19 cases in the state of Georgia during the study period. The study concludes that both COVID-19 cases and vaccinated individuals have spatial peculiarities across counties in Georgia state. Lastly, socio-economic variables and vaccination are very important to reduce the vulnerability of individuals to COVID-19 disease.

Broadband photodetection,spanning from ultraviolet(UV)to infrared(IR),is pivotal in diverse technological domains including astronomy,remote sensing,environmental monitoring,and medical ***,current commercially available broadband photodetectors,predominately based on conventional narrow-bandgap semiconductors,exhibit limited sensitivity in the UV *** limitation,stemming from the significant energy disparity between the semiconductor bandgap and UV photon,narrows their application ***,we report an innovative approach involving the in-situ van der Waals(vdW)integration of two-dimensional(2D)GeSe_(2)layers onto a Si *** process yields a high-quality GeSe_(2)/Si vdW heterojunction device,which features a broad response range covering from UV to near-IR(NIR)with a greatly-enhanced sensitivity in the UV *** device possesses high responsivities of 325 and 533.4 mA/W,large detectivities of 1.24×10^(13)and 2.57×10^(13)Jones,and fast response speeds of 20.6/82.1 and 17.7/81.0μs under 360 and 980 nm,***,the broadband image sensing and secure invisible optical communication capabilities of the GeSe_(2)/Si heterojunction device are *** work provides a viable approach for UV-enhanced broadband photodetection technology,opening up new possibilities and applications across various scientific and technological domains.

Researchers are paying increasing attention to the development of low-cost and microcontroller-based accelerometers,in order to make structural health monitoring feasible for conventional bridges with limited monitoring *** with the low-cost sensor development,the use of the embedded accelerometers of smartphones for eigenfrequency analysis of bridges is becoming popular in the civil engineering *** paper,for the first time in the literature,studies these two promising technologies by comparing the noise density and eigenfrequency analysis of a self-developed,validated and calibrated low-cost Internet of things based accelerometer LARA(low cost adaptable reliable accelerometer)with those of a state of the art smartphone(iPhone XR).The eigenfrequency analysis of a footbridge in san Sebastian,Spain,showed that the embedded accelerometer of the iPhone XR can measure the natural frequencies of the under study bridge.

Surface acoustic wave(SAW)resonators based on lithium tantalate(LT,LiTaO_(3))wafers are crucial elements of mobile communication *** use of intrinsic LT wafers typically brings about low fabrication accuracy of SAW resonators due to strong UV reflection in the lithography *** hinders their resonance frequency control seriously in industrial *** doping and chemical reduction could be applied to decrease the UV reflection of LT wafers for high lithographic ***,conventional methods fail to provide a fast and nondestructive approach to identify the UV performance of standard single-side polished LT wafers for highprecision frequency ***,we propose a convenient on-line sensing scheme based on the colorimetry of reduced Fe-doped LT wafers and build up an automatic testing system for industrial *** levels of Fe doping and chemical reduction are evaluated by the lightness and color difference of LT-based *** correlation between the wafer visible colorimetry and UV reflection is established to refine the lithography process and specifically manipulate the frequency performance of SAW *** study provides a powerful tool for the fabrication control of SAW resonators and will inspire more applications on sophisticated devices of mobile communication.

Synthesis and Characterization of Hydrogels Based on Potato Starch/Poly(vinyl Alcohol)/N,N′-Methylenebisacrylamide

Several hydrogels were synthesized by free-radical polymerization in an aqueous medium based on potato starch(PS),poly(vinyl alcohol)(PVA),and N,N′-Methylenebisacrylamide(MBAm),being possible to study these hydrogels as a function of the proportion of components *** this way,the products generated from the synthesis were characterized by swelling and deswelling kinetics,the first swelling being verified with Schott and statistical models,allowing to contrast the proximity between the experimental and theoretical ***,water retention in soil(R%),spectroscopy(FTIR),morphological(SEM),and thermal(TGA and DSC)analysis allowing to know the intrinsic characteristics of the material,increasing in general terms the knowledge of this type of *** this context,it was possible to verify the characteristics and effectiveness of the synthesis and crosslinking of the main *** experimental results obtained show that the synthesized hydrogels present representative swellings consistent with kinetic and statistical models,optimal thermal stability depending on the amount of crosslinker,and excellent water retention in environments such as soil,presenting it as an excellent alternative to be used in agro-industrial applications in an eco-friendly way.

Anti-Byzantine Attacks Enabled Vehicle Selection for Asynchronous Federated Learning in Vehicular Edge Computing
