Stiffness-tunable biomaterials provide a good extracellular matrix environment for axon growth and regeneration

Neuronal growth, extension, branching, and formation of neural networks are markedly influenced by the extracellular matrix—a complex network composed of proteins and carbohydrates secreted by cells. In addition to providing physical support for cells, the extracellular matrix also conveys critical mechanical stiffness cues. During the development of the nervous system, extracellular matrix stiffness plays a central role in guiding neuronal growth, particularly in the context of axonal extension, which is crucial for the formation of neural networks. In neural tissue engineering, manipulation of biomaterial stiffness is a promising strategy to provide a permissive environment for the repair and regeneration of injured nervous tissue. Recent research has fine-tuned synthetic biomaterials to fabricate scaffolds that closely replicate the stiffness profiles observed in the nervous system. In this review, we highlight the molecular mechanisms by which extracellular matrix stiffness regulates axonal growth and regeneration. We highlight the progress made in the development of stiffness-tunable biomaterials to emulate in vivo extracellular matrix environments, with an emphasis on their application in neural repair and regeneration, along with a discussion of the current limitations and future prospects. The exploration and optimization of the stiffness-tunable biomaterials has the potential to markedly advance the development of neural tissue engineering.

A Periodic Dividend Problem with Inconstant Barrier in Markovian Environment

Periodic dividend problem is a meaningful issue. Based on a compound binomial model with periodic dividend, we use a homogeneous, ergodic and irreducible discrete-time Markov chain to express the evolution from one period to the subsequent of the economic or the environmental and climatic conditions. We derive some properties about the model. A system of integral equations for the expectation and the r-th moment of discounted dividends until ruin time are obtained respectively. Moreover, by using of Contraction Mapping Principle, we solve the equation system and obtain the explicit expression.

The Applicability of Fluid Model to Electrical Breakdown and Glow Discharge Modeling in Argon

The simple fluid model, an extended fluid model, and the fluid model with nonlocal ionization are applied for the calculations of static breakdown voltages, Paschen curves and current-voltage characteristics. The best agreement with the experimental data for the Paschen curve modeling is achieved by using the model with variable secondary electron yield. The modeling of current-voltage characteristics is performed for different inter-electrode distances and the results are compared with the experimental data. The fluid model with nonlocal ionization shows an excellent agreement for all inter-electrode distances, while the extended fluid model with variable electron transport coefficients agrees well with measurements at short inter-electrode distances when ionization by fast electrons can be neglected.

THE LERAY-SCHAUDER CONDITION FOR 1-SET WEAKLY-CONTRACTIVE AND(ws)-COMPACT OPERATORS

Abstract The main purpose of this article is to prove a collection of new nxea point theorems for （ws）-compact and so-called 1-set weakly contractive operators under Leray- Schauder boundary condition. We also introduce the concept of semi-closed operator at the origin and obtain a series of new fixed point theorems for such class of operators. As consequences, we get new fixed point existence for （ws）-compact （in particular nonexpansive） self mappings unbounded closed convex subset of Banach spaces. The main condition in our results is formulated in terms of axiomatic measures of weak noncompactness. Later on, we give an application to generalized Hammerstein type integral equations.

Global Stability in a Competition Model of Plankton Allelopathy with Infinite Delay

The result shows that for this system, delay and toxic substances are harmless for the stability of the interior equilibrium point.

Some Results on Metric n-Lie Algebras

We study the structure of a metric n-Lie algebra G over the complex field C. Let G = S＋R be the Levi decomposition, where T4 is the radical of G and S is a strong semisimple subalgebra of G. Denote by re（G） the number of all minimal ideals of an indecomposable metric n-Lie algebra and R^⊥ the orthogonal complement of R. We obtain the following results. As S-modules, R^⊥ is isomorphic to the dual module of G/R. The dimension of the vector space spanned by all nondegenerate invariant symmetric bilinear forms on G is equal to that of the vector space of certain linear transformations on G; this dimension is greater than or equal to rn（G）＋ 1. The centralizer of T4 in G is equal to the sum of all minimal ideals; it is the direct sum of R^⊥and the center of G. Finally, G has no strong semisimple ideals if and only if R^⊥ R.

On two Hall algebra approaches to odd periodic triangulated categories

Given an odd-periodic algebraic triangulated category, we compare Bridgeland's Hall algebra in the sense of Bridgeland(2013) and Gorsky(2014), and the derived Hall algebra in the sense of Ten(2006), Xiao and Xu(2008) and Xu and Chen(2013), and show that the former one is the twisted form of the tensor product of the latter one and a suitable group algebra.

Vehicular Ad hoc Networks(VANETs) are special kind of Mobile Ad hoc Networks(MANETs),where vehicles communicate with each other in ad hoc formation. VANETs consist of Vehicles and Road Side Units(RSUs) that assist in the network management. Vehicles communicate with each other and RSUs, with the aim to provide infotainment and safety services on road. Security is an important consideration in VANETs as safety of humans(passengers) is an important issue. Vehicular Public Key Infrastructure(VPKI) is an adapted form of Public Key Infrastructure(PKI) used to achieve the key management and security services in *** generation and revocation is one of the primary functions of VPKI. Certificate revocation is used for revoking the malicious nodes and terminate their access rights to the network. In this paper we classify revocation schemes in a novel way into centralized and decentralized manners. This paper covers a survey of different certificate revocation schemes, and provides an overview of the research in the area of certificate revocation in VANETs.
