The Korteweg-de Vries(Kd V)-type equations have been seen in fluid mechanics,plasma physics and lattice dynamics,etc. This paper will address the bilinearization problem for some higher-order Kd V equations. Based on the relationship between the bilinear method and Bell-polynomial scheme,with introducing an auxiliary independent variable,we will present the general bilinear forms. By virtue of the symbolic computation,one-and two-soliton solutions are derived.

This paper is to investigate a variable-coefficient modified Kortweg-de Vries （vc-mKdV） model, which describes some situations from fluid mechanics, ocean dynamics, and plasma mechanics. By the AblowRz-Kaup-NewellSegur procedure and symbolic computation, the Lax pair of the vc-MKdV model is derived. Then, based on the aforementioned Lax pair, the Darboux transformation is constructed and a new one-soliton-like solution is obtained as weft Features of the one-soliton-like solution are analyzed and graphically discussed to illustrate the influence of the variable coefficients in the solitonlike propagation.

Applicable in fluid dynamics and plasmas, a generalized variable-coefficient Korteweg-de Vries （vcKdV） model is investigated. The bilinear form and analytic N-soliton-like solution for such a model are derived by the Hirota method and Wronskian technique. Additionally, the bilinear auto-Bǎcklund transformation between （N-1）- soliton-like and N-soliton-like solutions is verified.

As a result of the necessity of aircraft engineering design and the progress of computational fluid dynamics (CFD), techniques of accurately predicting aero- dynamic drag are being increasingly explored. According to the momentum bal- ance, the drag can be represented by an integral over a cross-flow plane (called wake integration method) at an arbitrary distance behind the configuration. A for- mulation to reduce the size of the wake cross plane region required for calculating the drag is developed by using cutoff parameters of vorticity and entropy. This in- creases the calculation accuracy and decreases the computation time required. Numerical experiments are made to obtain the threshold values of these cutoff pa- rameters. The wake integration method is applied to predict drags of some exam- ples including airfoil, a variety of wings and wing-body combination. Numerical results are compared with those of traditional surface integration method, showing that the predicting drag values with the wake integration method are closer to the experimental data. The results also show that drag prediction within engineering accuracy is possible by using CFD and the numerical drag optimization of complex aircraft configurations is possible, too.

In this study,analytical and numerical methods are applied to investigate the dynamic response of an axially moving plate subjected to parametric and forced *** on the classical thin plate theory,the governing equation of the plate coupled with fluid is established and further discretized through the Galerkin *** equations are solved using the method of multiple scales to obtain amplitude-frequency curves and phase-frequency *** stability of steady-state response is examined using Lyapunov’s stability *** addition,numerical analysis is employed to validate the results of analytical solutions based on the Runge-Kutta *** multi-value and stability of periodic solutions are verified through stable periodic *** parametric studies show that proper selection of system parameters enables the system to stay in primary resonance or simultaneous resonance,and the state of the system can switch among different periodic motions,contributing to the optimization of fluid-structure interaction system.

The dynamics and stability of fluid-conveying corrugated pipes are investigated. The flow velocity is assumed to harmonically vary along the pipe rather than with time. The dimensionless equation is discretized with the differential quadrature method (DQM). Subsequently, the effects of the mean flow velocity and two key parameters of the corrugated pipe, i.e., the amplitude of the corrugations and the total number of the corrugations, are studied. The results show that the corrugated pipe will lose stability by flutter even if it has been supported at both ends. When the total number of the corrugations is sufficient, this flutter instability occurs at a micro flow velocity. These phenomena are verified via the Runge-Kutta method. The critical flow velocity of divergence is analyzed in detail. Compared with uniform pipes, the critical velocity will be reduced due to the corrugations, thus accelerating the divergence instability. Specifically, the critical flow velocity decreases if the amplitude of the corrugations increases. However, the critical flow velocity cannot be monotonously reduced with the increase in the total number of the corrugations. An extreme point appears, which can be used to realize the parameter optimization of corrugated pipes in practical applications.

The formation of self-organizing single-line particle train in a channel flow of a power-law fluid is studied using the lattice Boltzmann method with power-law index 0.6≤n≤1.2,particle volume concentration 0.8%≤Φ≤6.4%,Reynolds number 10≤Re≤100,and blockage ratio 0.2≤k≤*** numerical method is validated by comparing the present results with the previous *** effect n,Φ,Re and k on the interparticle spacing and parallelism of particle train is *** results showed that the randomly distributed particles would migrate towards the vicinity of the equilibrium position and form the ordered particle train in the power-law *** equilibrium position of particles is closer to the channel centerline in the shear-thickening fluid than that in the Newtonian fluid and shear-thinning *** particles are not perfectly parallel in the equilibrium position,hence IH is used to describe the inclination of the line linking the equilibrium position of each *** self-organizing single-line particle train is formed,the particle train has a better parallelism and hence benefit for particle focusing in the shearthickening fluid at highΦ,low Re and small ***,the interparticle spacing is the largest and hence benefit for particle separation in the shear-thinning fluid at lowΦ,low Re and small k.
