Pregnancy and the disease recurrence of patients previously treated for differentiated thyroid cancer:A systematic review and meta analysis

To the Editor:Owing to the heterogeneity of congenital heart disease-associated pulmonary hypertension(CHDPH)disease and the development of the pulmonary vascular system in pediatric patients,the management of CHD-PH in children is signicantly different from that in adults.[1]Early identication and intervention of CHD-PH are of great signicance for disease management in children with CHD,and non-invasive,accurate clinical tools are urgently needed to predict PH risk in children with ***,the applicability of the current risk-scoring system to pediatric CHD-PH remains ***,there are presently no user-friendly,non-invasive online tools available for predicting CHD-PH,and there is a scarcity of related studies in Asian *** study aimed to develop and validate the prediction tools for estimating the risk of pulmonary hypertension and clinical deterioration in children with congenital heart disease.

Alzheimer ’s disease(AD) is a leading cause of dementia in the ***-activated protein kinase phosphatase 1(MKP-1) plays a neuroprotective role in ***,the molecular mechanisms underlying the effects of MKP-1 on AD have not been extensively ***(miRNAs) regulate gene expression at the post-transcriptional level,thereby repressing mRNA ***,we reported that the microRNA-429-3p(miR-429-3p) was significantly increased in the brain of APP23/PS45 AD model mice and N2AAPPAD model *** further found that miR-429-3p could downregulate MKP-1 expression by directly binding to its 3’-untranslated region(3’ UTR).Inhibition of miR-429-3p by its antagomir(A-miR-429) restored the expression of MKP-1 to a control level and consequently reduced the amyloidogenic processing of APP and Aβ *** importantly,intranasal administration of A-miR-429 successfully ameliorated the deficits of hippocampal CA1 long-term potentiation and spatial learning and memory in AD model mice by suppressing extracellular signal-regulated kinase(ERK1/2)-mediated GluAl hyperphosphorylation at Ser831 site,thereby increasing the surface expression of GluAl-containing α-amino-3-hydroxy-5-methyl-4-isoxazolepropionic acid receptors(AMPARs).Together,these results demonstrate that inhibiting miR-429-3p to upregulate MKP-1 effectively improves cognitive and synaptic functions in AD model mice,suggesting that miR-429/MKP-1 pathway may be a novel therapeutic target for AD treatment.

Objective Tissue uptake and distribution of nano-/microplastics was studied at a single high dose by gavage in *** Fluorescent microspheres(100 nm,3μm,and 10μm)were given once at a dose of 200 mg/(kg∙body weight).The fluorescence intensity(FI)in observed organs was measured using the IVIS Spectrum at 0.5,1,2,and 4 h after *** was performed to corroborate these *** In the 100 nm group,the FI of the stomach and small intestine were highest at 0.5 h,and the FI of the large intestine,excrement,lung,kidney,liver,and skeletal muscles were highest at 4 h compared with the control group(P<0.05).In the 3μm group,the FI only increased in the lung at 2 h(P<0.05).In the 10μm group,the FI increased in the large intestine and excrement at 2 h,and in the kidney at 4 h(P<0.05).The presence of nano-/microplastics in tissues was further verified by *** peak time of nanoplastic absorption in blood was *** Nanoplastics translocated rapidly to observed organs/tissues through blood circulation;however,only small amounts of MPs could penetrate the organs.

SIL1,an endoplasmic reticulum(ER)-resident protein,is reported to play a protective role in Alzheimer’s disease(AD).However,the effect of SIL1 on amyloid precursor protein(APP)processing remains *** this study,the role of SIL1 in APP processing was explored both in vitro and in *** the in vitro experiment,SIL1 was either overexpressed or knocked down in cells stably expressing the human Swedish mutant *** the in vivo experiment,AAV-SIL1-EGFP or AAV-EGFP was microinjected into APP23/PS45 mice and their wild-type *** blotting(WB),immunohistochemistry,RNA sequencing(RNA-seq),and behavioral experiments were performed to evaluate the relevant *** indicated that SIL1 expression decreased in APP23/PS45 *** of SIL1 significantly decreased the protein levels of APP,presenilin-1(PS1),and C-terminal fragments(CTFs)of APP in vivo and in ***,knockdown of SIL1 increased the protein levels of APP,β-site APP cleavage enzyme 1(BACE1),PS1,and CTFs,as well as APP mRNA expression in 2EB2 ***,SIL1 overexpression reduced the number of senile plaques in APP23/PS45 ***,Y-maze and Morris Water maze tests demonstrated that SIL1 overexpression improved cognitive impairment in APP23/PS45 *** findings indicate that SIL1 improves cognitive impairment in APP23/PS45 mice by inhibiting APP amyloidogenic processing and suggest that SIL1 is a potential therapeutic target for AD by modulating APP processing.

Association of psychological stress with wives’hypertension across over 10 million Chinese married female population aged 20-49 years

Effect of male HBV infection on the outcomes of IVF/ICSI cycles:a retrospective cohort study based on propensity score matching

This study aimed to investigate the effects of male hepatitis B virus(HBV)infection on male fertility,embryonic development,and in vitro fertilization/intracytoplasmic sperm injection(IVF/ICSI)*** performed a retrospective cohort study that included 3965 infertile couples who received fresh embryo transfer cycles for the first time at the Fujian Maternity and child health Hospital(Fuzhou,China)from January 2018 to January *** couples were categorized based on their HBV infection status into the HBV group(HBV-positive men and HBV-negative women)and the control group(HBV-negative couples).A 1:1 propensity score matching was performed with relatively balanced *** characteristics,semen parameters,laboratory outcomes,clinical outcomes,and obstetric and neonatal outcomes were compared between *** propensity score matching,821 couples were included in each *** groups had similar semen parameters and obstetric and neonatal *** HBV group showed a significantly lower live birth rate than the control group(P<0.05).The HBV group had a significantly higher abortion rate than the control group(P<0.05).The rates of high-quality embryos and blastocyst formation were significantly lower in the HBV group than those in the control group(both P<0.05).In conclusion,in couples who undergo IVF/ICSI,male HBV infection reduces the live birth rate and increases the risk of ***,the incidence of low birth weight in women with IVF/ICSI does not increase with male HBV infection.

Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is the most common endocrine disease afflicting women of childbearing age. It is characterized by irregular menstruation， clinical or biochemical hyperandrogenemia， and polycystic ovary morphology. As a complex endocrine-metabolic syndrome， PCOS shares several endocrine-metabolic features with the metabolic syndrome (MS)， with insulin resistance at the core of their pathogenic mechanisms. PCOS and MS are interrelated and thus have similarities in treatment. Currently， the common treatment modalities for both are lifestyle intervention， medication， and surgery. More studies have shown that lifestyle intervention and regulation of intestinal flora are more effective and sustainable. However， progress towards treatment and cure is hampered by unclear etiology and mechanisms. This review aimed to summarize the relationship between PCOS and MS， the pathogenesis of metabolic disorders， and the current nutritional therapeutic strategies， especially lifestyle modifications and modulation of intestinal flora. Lifestyle interventions combined with the regulation of gut flora can be a new perspective for treatment. This perspective has a positive significance in the early diagnosis， adoption of personalized treatment plans， and prevention of complications in PCOS and MS. The need to prevent the occurrence of MS in patients with PCOS should be emphasized.
