Effects of irrigation and planting geometry on cotton(Gossypium hirsutum L.)fiber quality and seed composition

Background:Cotton fiber quality and seed composition play vital roles in the economics of cotton production systems and the cottonseed meal *** research aimed to examine the effects of different irrigation levels and planting geometries on fiber quality and seed composition of cotton(Gossypium hirsutum L.).We conducted a 2-year study in 2018 and 2019 in a warm,humid area in the Southeast united States on Dundee silt loam *** were three irrigation treatments in the *** treatments included irrigating every furrow,or full irrigation(FI),every alternate furrow,or half irrigation(HI),and no irrigation,or rain-fed(RF).Planting geometries were on ridges spaced 102 cm apart and either a single-row(SR)or twin-rows(TR).Results:The results of high-volume instrument(HVI),advanced fiber information systems(AFIS)and near-infrared reflectance spectroscopy(NIRS)showed that irrigation and planting treatments played a significant role in fiber quality and seed *** irrigation treatments,significant differences were seen in fiber properties,including fineness,maturity ratio,micronaire,neps,short fiber,strength,uniformity,upper half mean length(UHML),upper quartile length by weight(UQLw),and yellowness(+b).Irrigation and planting geometry(PG)had a significant effect on micronaire,strength,and UHML while their interaction was significant only for *** micronaire was negatively affected by irrigation as FI-SR,FI-TR,HI-SR,and HI-TR recorded 11%~12%lower over the RF-SR and TR *** PG played a minor role in determining fiber quality traits like micronaire and nep *** treatments produced significantly lower(3%~4%)protein content than rain-fed,while oil content increased significantly(6%~10%).Conclusions:The study results indicate a potential for improving cotton fiber and seed qualities by managing irrigation and planting geometries in cotton production systems in the Mississippi(MS)Delta *** HI-TR system appears pr

In this paper,an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle(UAV)-assisted relay communication system is studied,where a UAV is served as a flying relay to maintain a communication link between a mobile source node and a remote destination ***,an average outage probability minimization problem is formulated firstly,with the constraints on the transmission power of the source node,the maximum energy consumption budget,the transmission power,the speed and acceleration of the flying UAV ***,the closed-form of outage probability is derived,under the hybrid line-of-sight and non-line-of-sight probability channel *** deal with the formulated nonconvex optimization,a long-term proactive optimization mechanism is *** particular,firstly,an approximation for line-of-sight probability and a reformulation of the primal problem are given,***,the reformulated problem is transformed into two subproblems:one is the transmission power optimization with given UAV’s trajectory and the other is the trajectory optimization with given transmission power ***,two subproblems are tackled via tailoring primal–dual subgradient method and successive convex approximation,***,a proactive optimization algorithm is proposed to jointly optimize the transmission power allocation and the three-dimensional ***,simulation results demonstrate the performance of the proposed algorithm under various parameter configurations.

Design architecture is the edifice that strengthens the functionalities as well as the security of web *** order to facilitate architectural security from the web application’s design phase itself,practitioners are now adopting the novel mechanism of security *** the intent to conduct a research from the perspective of security tactics,the present study employs a hybrid multi-criteria decision-making approach named fuzzy analytic hierarchy process-technique for order preference by similarity ideal solution(AHP-TOPSIS)method for selecting and assessing multi-criteria *** adopted methodology is a blend of fuzzy analytic hierarchy process(fuzzy AHP)and fuzzy technique for order preference by similarity ideal solution(fuzzy TOPSIS).To establish the efficacy of this methodology,the results are obtained after the evaluation have been tested on fifteen different web application projects(Online Quiz competition,Entrance Test,and others)of the Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University,Lucknow,*** tabulated outcomes demonstrate that the methodology of the Multi-Level Fuzzy Hybrid system is highly effective in providing accurate estimation for strengthening the security of web *** proposed study will help experts and developers in developing and managing security from any web application design phase for better accuracy and higher security.

The rapid increase in resource sharing across domains in the cloud computing environment makes the task of managing inter-domain access control policy integration difficult for the security administrators. Although a number of policy integration and security analysis mechanisms have been developed, few focus on enabling the average administrator by providing an intuitive cognitive sense about the integrated policies, which considerably undermines the usability factor. In this paper we propose a visualization framework for inter-domain access control policy integration, which integrates Role Based Access Control (RBAC) policies on the basis of role-mapping and then visualizes the integrated result. The role mapping algorithm in the framework considers the hybrid role hierarchy. It can not only satisfy the security constraints of non-cyclic inheritance and separation of duty but also make visualization easier. The framework uses role-permission trees and semantic substrates to visualize the integrated policies. Through the interactive policy query visualization, the average administrator can gain an intuitive understanding of the policy integration result.

Internet of Medical Things(IoMT)plays an essential role in collecting and managing personal medical *** recent years,blockchain technology has put power in traditional IoMT systems for data sharing between different medical institutions and improved the utilization of medical ***,some problems in the information transfer process between wireless medical devices and mobile medical apps,such as information leakage and privacy *** paper first designs a cross-device key agreement model for blockchain-enabled *** model can establish a key agreement mechanism for secure medical data ***,a certificateless authenticated key agreement(KA)protocol has been proposed to strengthen the information transfer security in the cross-device key agreement *** proposed KA protocol only requires one exchange of messages between the two parties,which can improve the protocol execution ***,any unauthorized tampering of the transmitted signed message sent by the sender can be detected by the receiver,so this can guarantee the success of the establishment of a session key between the strange *** blockchain ledger can ensure that the medical data cannot be tampered with,and the certificateless mechanism can weaken the key escrow ***,the security proof and performance analysis are given,which show that the proposed model and KA protocol are more secure and efficient than other schemes in similar literature.

Although Global Navigation Satellite System(GNSS)terminal has been widely used for fleet management,it cannot satisfy the need of managing changes of laborer and implement during farm operation,which are important for social service cooperatives comparing to family farms in *** objective of this study was to explore a precise,low cost and easy-to-use method for vehicle fleet management of large scale farm machinery cooperatives.A smartphone based application software(APP)named Precise Monitoring System(PMS)was developed to record the farm operation information including tractor,implement and laborer by scanning their Quick Response codes(QR codes),and obtain real time GNSS positions by using built-in GNSS chip of *** the convenience usage for farmers,only two buttons,“start/pause/continue”and“stop”were designed to record farm operation ***,IDs,positions and operation status were combined and transferred to the server through GPRS/3G/*** kinds of experiments were designed and conducted to verify the *** results showed that PMS can realize the basic functions such as precise and real-time monitoring,operation quality tracing,operation mileage and operation area calculating,and U-turn *** method and APP could record complex combination of production factors precisely and accurately,which is suitable for the management of vehicle fleet,and can replace GNSS terminal to some extent.

The Kidney and Oncology Departments at Zagazig University Hospital are suffering from increased demand and limited *** patients who find all beds occupied are simply turned away,i.e.,no waiting is *** paper investigates the impact of an early discharge approach that can be applied to patients that have been scheduled to discharge within 5 h.A discrete event simulation(DES)model is built using empirical distributions based on real *** model has been validated against real data and the results have shown that the proposed early discharge approach can reduce the number of turned away patients by 10%in the Kidney Department,equivalent to 182 patients annually and by 11%in the Oncology Department,equivalent to 150 patients annually.
