Review:Assessing potential dietary toxicity of heavy metals in selected vegetables and food crops

Heavy metals, such as cadmium, copper, lead, chromium and mercury, are important environmental pollutants, particularly in areas with high anthropogenic pressure. Their presence in the atmosphere, soil and water, even in traces can cause serious problems to all organisms, and heavy metal bioaccumulation in the food chain especially can be highly dangerous to human health. Heavy metals enter the human body mainly through two routes namely: inhalation and ingestion, ingestion being the main route of exposure to these elements in human population. Heavy metals intake by human populations through food chain has been reported in many countries. Soil threshold for heavy metal toxicity is an important factor affecting soil environmental capacity of heavy metal and determines heavy metal cumulative loading limits. For soil-plant system, heavy metal toxicity threshold is the highest permissible content in the soil (total or bioavailable concentration) that does not pose any phytotoxic effects or heavy metals in the edible parts of the crops does not exceed food hygiene standards. Factors affecting the thresholds of dietary toxicity of heavy metal in soil-crop system include: soil type which includes soil pH, organic matter content, clay mineral and other soil chemical and biochemical properties; and crop species or cultivars regulated by genetic basis for heavy metal transport and accumulation in plants. In addition, the interactions of soil-plant root-microbes play important roles in regulating heavy metal movement from soil to the edible parts of crops. Agronomic practices such as fertilizer and water managements as well as crop rotation system can affect bioavailability and crop accumulation of heavy metals, thus influencing the thresholds for assessing dietary toxicity of heavy metals in the food chain. Naphthalimide-modified near-infrared cyanine dye with a large stokes shift and its application in bioimaging

Developing the novel fluorescent dyes with a larger Stokes shift is still a challenge in the research of fluorescence probes. In this work, a naphthalimide-modified near-infrared cyanine dye with an emission at 785 nm has been synthesized for lysosome-targeting imaging. This fluorescent dye showed a large Stokes shift（up to 165 nm） and favorable lysosome-targeting property, which facilitated it to be a potential candidate for studying of lysosomal functions. The result also indicated that the probe is a promising contrast agent for in vivo imaging in mouse models.

2-乙基己基磷酸单(2-乙基己基)酯(HEHEHP)对4 mol/L HCl稀土溶液中的钪具有极高的选择性,其分离系数βSc/REEs超过了8000,且在20 min内达到萃取平衡。萃取后的钪在363 K下,利用5 mol/L NaOH作为洗脱剂,洗脱率达到92.1%。利用斜率法、饱和萃取法、红外光谱分析和核磁共振分析阐明了萃取机理。结果表明,HEHEHP在4 mol/L HCl溶液中萃取Sc主要是以P—O—H中的H与Sc的离子交换过程,以及P=O与Sc的配位过程为主导,且6个萃取剂分子作为二聚体参与萃取。最后,提出了从离子吸附型稀土精矿中回收钪的工艺流程,并在实验室进行了验证。

Non-rigid 3D models retrieval based on hierarchical matching

In 3D models retrieval, feature description and retrieval of non-rigid model face more complex problems due to the isometry transformation of itself. We introduce the hierarchical combination matching into the feature comparison, and build a map between the divided regions of two models, and then achieve accurate feature matching based on patch-by-patch, which successfully introduces the spatial information into feature matching. Verified by experiment, the 3D model retrieval method proposed in this paper based on hierarchical combination matching can make sure more accurate feature matching, so as to enhance the precision of retrieval.

Based on the sensitivity analysis on risk factors, the risk response strategies were consequently proposed, and the basic theories of the strategies were introduced in detail. The main procedure of the strategies includes listing the risks to cope with, estimating the main risk resistance capability, developing the risk consistent measures and formulating alternative risk response strategies. Some principles were followed during the strategy formulation such as appropriateness, timeliness, consensus agreement, clear responsibility and optimization. Risk response strategies can be put forward from the following several aspects with consideration: risk management program, risk control strategy, project control, labor control and management control. To select risk response strategies, the risk loss as well as the nature and composition of the cost needs to be analyzed considerately. Finally, the countermeasures for risk mitigation were suggested, namely risk transfer strategies and risk retention measures.

Mechanism of separating pyrite and dolomite by flotation

To study the mechanism of separating pyrite and dolomite by flotation, the acting mechanisms of WHL depressor and both the minerals were studied by means of thermogravimetric and differential thermal analysis （TG-DTA）, Fourier transform infrareddiffuse reflection spectroscopy （PTIR-DRS）, and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy （XPS）. The results indicated that WHL formed metal salts with metal ions dissolved in water from dolomite and pyrite, which then deposited on their surfaces. Both of the minerals could be depressed by WHL. In the process of flotation, sulfur was created besides the WIlL being absorbed on the surface of the sulfur concentrate, and its recovery rate was slightly affected.

The current COVID-19 pandemic has heavily burdened the global public health system and may keep simmering for *** frequent emergence of immune escape variants have spurred the search for prophylactic vaccines and therapeutic antibodies that confer broad protection against SARS-CoV-2 *** we show that the bivalency of an affinity maturated fully human singledomain antibody(n3113.1-Fc)exhibits exquisite neutralizing potency against SARS-CoV-2 pseudovirus,and confers effective prophylactic and therapeutic protection against authentic SARS-CoV-2 in the host cell receptor angiotensin-converting enzyme 2(ACE2)humanized *** crystal structure of n3113 in complex with the receptor-binding domain(RBD)of SARS-CoV-2,combined with the cryo-EM structures of n3113 and spike ecto-domain,reveals that n3113 binds to the side surface of up-state RBD with no competition with *** binding of n3113 to this novel epitope stabilizes spike in up-state conformations but inhibits SARS-CoV-2 S mediated membrane fusion,expanding our recognition of neutralization by antibodies against *** assay and pseudovirus neutralization assay show no evasion of recently prevalent SARS-CoV-2 lineages,including Alpha(B.1.1.7),Beta(B.1.351),Gamma(P.1),and Delta(B.1.617.2)for n3113.1-Fc with Y58L mutation,demonstrating the potential of n3113.1-Fc(Y58L)as a promising candidate for clinical development to treat COVID-19.

Magnetic and topological transitions in three-dimensional topological Kondo insulator

Using an extended slave-boson method,we draw a global phase diagram summarizing both magnetic phases and paramagnetic（PM） topological insulators（TIs） in a three-dimensional topological Kondo insulator（TKI）. By including electron hopping（EH） up to the third neighbors, we identify four strong TI（STI） phases and two weak TI（WTI） phases. Then, the PM phase diagrams characterizing topological transitions between these TIs are depicted as functions of EH,f-electron energy level,and hybridization constant. We also find an insulator-metal transition from an STI phase that has surface Fermi rings and spin textures in qualitative agreement with the TKI candidate SmBs. In the weak hybridization regime, antiferromagnetic（AF） order naturally arises in the phase diagrams. Depending on how the magnetic boundary crosses the PM topological transition lines,AF phases are classified into the AF topological insulator（AFTI） and the non-topological AF insulator, according to their Z2 indices. In two small regions of parameter space, two distinct topological transition processes between AF phases occur, leading to two types of AFTIs showing distinguishable surface dispersions around their Dirac points.
