Intra-tumor heterogeneity is now arguably one of the most-studied topics in tumor biology,as it represents a major obstacle to effective cancer *** tumor cells are highly diverse at genetic,epigenetic,and phenotypic levels,intra-tumor heterogeneity can be assumed as an important contributing factor to the nullification of chemotherapeutic effects,and recurrence of the *** on the role of heterogeneous subpopulations of cancer cells with varying cell-cycle dynamics and behavior during cancer progression and treatment;herein,we aim to establish a comprehensive definition for adaptation of neoplastic cells against *** discuss two parallel and yet distinct subpopulations of tumor cells that play pivotal roles in reducing the effects of chemotherapy:"resistant"and"tolerant"***,this review also highlights the impact of the quiescent phase of the cell cycle as a survival mechanism for cancer *** understanding the mechanisms under-lying the quiescence,it provides an insightful perspective on cancer stem cells(CsCs)and their dual and intertwined functions based on their cell cycle state in response to ***-over,CSCs,epithelial-mesenchymal transformed cells,circulating tumor cells(CTCs),and disseminated tumor cells(DTCs),which are mostly in a quiescent state of the cell cycle are proved to have multiple biological links and can be implicated in our viewpoint of cell cycle heterogeneity in ***,increasing our knowledge of cell cycle heterogeneity is a key to identifying new therapeutic solutions,and this emerging concept may provide us with new opportunities to prevent the dreadful cancer recurrence.

Prediction for permeability index of blast furnace based on VMD-PSO-BP model

The permeability index is one of the important production indicators to monitor the operation of blast *** is crucial to grasp the trends of changes in the new permeability index in *** the complex vibration spectrum of the permeability index,a prediction model of the permeability index based on the VMD-PSO-BP(variational mode decomposition-particle swarm optimization-back propagation)method was ***,the key factors that affect the permeability index of blast furnace were studied from multiple ***,the permeability index was divided into multiple sub-modes based on the difference of frequency bands by the VMD algorithm,and a PSO-BP prediction model was established for each ***,the prediction results of each sub-mode were summed to obtain the final *** results show that the composite prediction accuracy by using the VMD algorithm is 3%higher than that of the traditional prediction method,which has better applicability.

An Embedded Consensus ADMM Distribution Algorithm Based on Outer Approximation for Improved Robust State Estimation of Networked

Networked microgrids(NMGs)are critical in theaccommodation of distributed renewable ***,theexisting centralized state estimation(SE)cannot meet the demandsof NMGs in distributed energy *** currentestimator is also not robust against bad *** study introducesthe concepts of relative error to construct an improvedrobust SE(IRSE)optimization model with mixed-integer nonlinearprogramming(MINLP)that overcomes the disadvantage ofinaccurate results derived from different measurements whenthe same tolerance range is considered in the robust SE(RSE).To improve the computation efficiency of the IRSE optimizationmodel,the number of binary variables is reduced based on theprojection statistics and normalized residual methods,which effectivelyavoid the problem of slow convergence or divergenceof the algorithm caused by too many integer ***,an embedded consensus alternating direction of multiplier method(ADMM)distribution algorithm based on outer approximation(OA)is proposed to solve the IRSE optimization *** algorithm can accurately detect bad data and obtain SE resultsthat communicate only the boundary coupling informationwith *** tests show that the proposed algorithmeffectively detects bad data,obtains more accurate SE results,and ensures the protection of private information in all microgrids.

Experimental study on secondary air mixing along the bed height in a circulating fluidized bed with a multitracer-gas method

A multitracer-gas method was proposed to study the secondary air(SA)mixing along the bed height in a circulating fluidized bed(CFB)using carbon monoxide(CO),oxygen(O_(2)),and carbon dioxide(CO_(2))as tracer *** were carried out on a cold CFB test rig with a cross-section of 0.42 m×0.73 m and a height of 5.50 *** effects of superficial velocity,SA ratio,bed inventory,and particle diameter on the SA mixing were *** results indicate that there are some differences in the measurement results obtained using different tracer gases,wherein the deviation between CO and CO_(2) ranges from 42%to 66%and that between O_(2) and CO_(2) ranges from 45%to 71%in the lower part of the fluidized ***,these differences became less pronounced as the bed height ***,the high solid concentration and fine particle diameter in the CFB may weaken the *** measurement results of different tracer gases show the same trends under the variation of operating *** superficial velocity and SA ratio and decreasing particle diameter result in better mixing of the *** effect of bed inventory on SA mixing is not monotonic.

Diffusion and reaction mechanism of limestone and quartz in fluxed iron ore pellet roasting process

The increase to the proportion of fluxed pellets in the blast furnace burden is a useful way to reduce the carbon emissions in the ironmaking *** this study,the interaction between calcium carbonate and iron ore powder and the mineralization mechanism of fluxed iron ore pellet in the roasting process were investigated through diffusion couple *** electron microscopy with energy dispersive spectroscopy was used to study the elements’diffusion and phase transformation during the roasting *** results indicated that limestone decomposed into calcium oxide,and magnetite was oxidized to hematite at the early stage of *** the increase in roasting temperature,the diffusion rate of Fe and Ca was obviously accelerated,while the diffusion rate of Si was relatively *** order of magnitude of interdiffusion coefficient of Fe_(2)O_(3)-CaO diffusion couple was 10^(−10) m^(2)·s^(−1) at a roasting temperature of 1200℃for 9 ***_(2)Fe_(2)O_(5) was the initial product in the Fe_(2)O_(3)-CaO-SiO_(2) diffusion interface,and then Ca_(2)Fe_(2)O_(5) continued to react with Fe_(2)O_(3) to form CaFe_(2)O_(4).With the expansion of the diffusion region,the sillico-ferrite of calcium liquid phase was produced due to the melting of SiO_(2) into CaFe_(2)O_(4),which can strengthen the consolidation of fluxed ***,andradite would be formed around a small part of quartz particles,which is also conducive to the consolidation of fluxed *** addition,the principle diagram of limestone and quartz diffusion reaction in the process of fluxed pellet roasting was discussed.

Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)is a common liver malignancy and represents a serious cause of cancer-related mortality and *** of the favourable curative surgical therapeutic options for HCC is liver transplantation(LT)in selected patients fulfilling the known standard Milan/University of California San Francisco criteria which have shown better outcomes and longer-term *** careful adherence to the strict HCC selection criteria for LT in different transplant centres,the recurrence rate still occurs which could negatively affect HCC patients’*** HCC recurrence post-LT could predict patients’survival and prognosis,depending on the exact timing of recurrence after LT(early or late),and whether intra/extrahepatic HCC *** factors may aid in such a complication,particularly tumour-related criteria including larger sizes,higher grades or poor tumour differentiation,microvascular invasion,and elevated serum ***,managing such cases is challenging,different therapeutic options have been proposed,including curative surgical and ablative treatments that have shown better outcomes,compared to the palliative locoregional and systemic therapies,which may be helpful in those with unresectable tumour *** handle all these issues in our review.

Peri-articular elbow fracture fixations with magnesium implants and a review of current literature: A case series

BACKGROUND In recent years,the use of Magnesium alloy implants have gained renewed popularity,especially after the first commercially available ConformitéEuropéenne approved Magnesium implant became available(MAGNEZIX®CS,Syntellix)in *** To document our clinical and radiographical outcomes using magnesium implants in treating peri-articular elbow *** Our paper was based on a retrospective case series ***-operatively,a standardized surgical technique was utilized for insertion of the magnesium ***–operatively,clinic visits were standardized and physical exam findings,functional scores,and radiographs were obtained at each *** complications were *** Five patients with 6 fractures were recruited(2 coronoid,3 radial head and 1 capitellum).The mean patient age and length of follow up was 54.6 years and 11 months *** fractures healed,and none exhibited loss of reduction or complications requiring revision *** patient developed synovitis of the elbow joint or suffered electrolytic reactions when titanium implants were used *** Although there is still a paucity of literature available on the subject and further studies are required,magnesium implants appear to be a feasible tool for fixation of peri-articular elbow fractures with promising results in our *** In recent years,the use of Magnesium alloy implants in orthopaedic surgeries have gained renewed *** from being bioabsorbable,negating the need for implant removal,magnesium also has good osteoconductive properties[1-4].Biomechanically,it exhibits greater biomechanical strength than any pre-existing polymers,and reduces the stress-shielding effect associated with titanium and steel implants as it has a Young’s modulus closer to bone[4].Currently,the main utility of magnesium implants in the orthopaedic community is within the foot and ankle community where satisfactory results have been reported

Analysis of Phenotypes Associated with Deficiency of PAX6 Haplotypes in Chinese Aniridia Families

Objective:To examine the clinical phenotype and genetic deficiencies present in Chinese aniridia families with PAX6 haplotype ***:A comprehensive questionnaire and ophthalmological assessments were administered to both affected patients and unaffected *** clinical feature analysis included the evaluation of visual acuity,intraocular pressure,slit-lamp anterior segment examination,fundus photography,and spectral domain optical coherence *** identify the mutation responsible for aniridia,targeted next-generation sequencing was used as a beneficial ***:A total of 4 mutations were identified,consisting of two novel frameshift mutations(c.314delA,p.K105Sfs*33 and c.838_845dup AACACACC,p.S283Tfs*85),along with two recurring nonsense mutations(c.307C＞T,p.R103X and c.619A＞T,p.K207*).Complete iris absence,macular foveal hypoplasia,and nystagmus were consistent in these PAX6 haplotype-deficient Chinese aniridia families,while corneal lesions,cataracts,and glaucoma exhibited heterogeneity both among the families and within the same ***:In our study,two novel PAX6 mutations associated with aniridia were identified in Chinese families,which expanded the phenotypic and genotypic spectrum of PAX6 *** also analyzed the clinical characteristics of PAX6 haplotype deficiency in Chinese aniridia families.

Geostatistical seismic inversion and 3D modelling of metric flow units,porosity and permeability in Brazilian presalt reservoir

Flow units(FU)rock typing is a common technique for characterizing reservoir flow behavior,producing reliable porosity and permeability estimation even in complex geological ***,the lateral extrapolation of FU away from the well into the whole reservoir grid is commonly a difficult task and using the seismic data as constraints is rarely a subject of *** paper proposes a workflow to generate numerous possible 3D volumes of flow units,porosity and permeability below the seismic resolution limit,respecting the available seismic data at larger *** methodology is used in the Mero Field,a Brazilian presalt carbonate reservoir located in the Santos Basin,who presents a complex and heterogenic geological setting with different sedimentological processes and diagenetic *** generated metric flow units using the conventional core analysis and transposed to the well log ***,given a Markov chain Monte Carlo algorithm,the seismic data and the well log statistics,we simulated acoustic impedance,decametric flow units(DFU),metric flow units(MFU),porosity and permeability volumes in the metric *** aim is to estimate a minimum amount of MFU able to calculate realistic scenarios porosity and permeability scenarios,without losing the seismic lateral *** other words,every porosity and permeability volume simulated produces a synthetic seismic that match the real seismic of the area,even in the metric *** achieved 3D results represent a high-resolution fluid flow reservoir modelling considering the lateral control of the seismic during the process and can be directly incorporated in the dynamic characterization workflow.
