Good information is the basis for good *** many invaluable salmon species,chemical information is necessary to guide and fine-tune their migrations to and from freshwater mating grounds.A problem is that salmon of the current world are running a gauntlet of toxic chemicals arising from diverse anthropogenic inputs and these chemicals are known to disrupt *** is sufficient evidence that effluents from cities,mines,agriculture and industry contain chemicals that can rapidly,and sometimes irreversibly,impair the olfactory sense that salmon use to gather *** toxic inputs may not only be strong enough to impair migration,but be strong enough to redirect salmon away from their *** is also evidence that some synthetic chemicals may serve as the basis for ‘new’ information and be useful in making correct migratory *** the plus side,there are examples of new regulations that limit the input of chemicals of known olfactory toxicity,but on the minus side,increased urbanization and global climate change will likely increase the number and/or severity of some neurotoxic *** we identify the specific avenues of chemical risks to information disruption and in so doing prioritize and rank the risks to migrating *** data collected here can be used to lay the foundation for modelling the effects of anthropogenic inputs on information disruption in diverse salmonid species from around the world and therefore help secure their longevity in a changing chemical environment.

The present study focuses on the synthesis and characterization of lanthanum(La3+)-doped calcium nanoferrites(CaLaxFe2-xO4:x=0.025,0.050,0.075 and 0.100) using the sonochemical *** techniques were employed to analyze the effect of La3+infusion,Raman spectroscopy confirms the presence of active A1g,T2gand Egmodes in the CaLaxFe2-xO4nanoferrite,indicating the formation of an active ferrite *** introduction of La3+doping results in a significant increase in the band gap energy,rendering the nanoferrites insulating（3.23-3,57 eV）.At higher frequencies,the impedance studies reveal minimal losses and better AC conductivity,pointing to improved dielectric *** higher frequencies,the Q-factor of La-doped calcium nanoferrites shows lower electromagnetic *** m-H curve exhibits ferromagnetic behavior,with La3+-doped calcium nano ferrites displaying a saturation magnetization ranging from 12.72 to 18.10 emu/*** incorporation of La3+also induces enhanced electrical polarization,leading to notable dielectric loss and increased absorption of electromagnetic ***,these CaLaxFe2-xO4nanoferrites demonstrate potential as effective microwave absorbers across a wide frequency range,with significant shielding absorption observed at 8.8-9.1 GHz.

A double paddle blender's flow patterns and mixing mechanisms were analyzed using discrete element method(DEm)and *** mixing performance of this type of the blender containing bi-disperse particles has been rarely studied in the ***-burman design of experiments(DoE)methodology was used to calibrate the DEm input ***,the impact of the particle number ratio,vessel fill level,and paddle rotational speed on mixing performance was investigated using the calibrated DEm *** mixing performance was assessed using relative standard deviation and segregation *** performance was significantly affected by the paddle rotational speed and particle number ***,the Peclet number and diffusivity coefficient were used to evaluate the mixing mechanism in the *** revealed that the diffusion was the predominant mixing mechanism,and the best mixing performance was observed when the diffusivity coefficients of 3 mm and 5 mm particles were almost equal.

many chemical engineering processes deal with dense suspensions of large solid particles in *** of such systems are difficult to predict because the many solid particles strongly affect the hydrodynamics produced by the *** main objective was to assess the performances of the PbT,A310,and PF3 impellers in agitating highly concentrated slurries of large *** resistance tomography was used to determine the degree of homogeneity and solid particle distribution within the slurry *** gain more insight into the complex behavior of the flow inside the dense suspensions,computational fluid dynamics simulations were conducted using a Eulerian-Eulerian multiphase *** qualitative and quantitative analyses were performed to obtain details on the dispersed solid phase distribution and its effect on the mixing *** found that the PbT impeller was the most efficient in terms of consuming power and generating velocity and turbulent kinetic energy within the mixing tank.

Despite the wide applications of powder and solid mixing in industry, knowledge on the mixing of polydisperse solid particles in rotary drum blenders is lacking. This study investigates the mixing of monodisperse, bidisperse, tridisperse, and polydisperse solid particles in a rotary drum using the dis- crete element method. To validate the model developed in this study, experimental and simulation results were compared. The validated model was then employed to investigate the effects of the drum rotational speed, particle size, and initial loading method on the mixing quality. The degree of mixing of polydis- perse particles was smaller than that for monodisperse particles owing to the segregation phenomenon. The mixing index increased from an initial value to a maximum and decreased slightly before reaching a plateau for bidisperse, tridisperse, and polydisperse particles as a direct result of the segregation of par- ticles of different sizes. Final mixing indices were higher for polydisperse particles than for tridisperse and bidisperse particles. Additionally, segregation was weakened by introducing additional particles of intermediate size. The best mixing of bidisperse and tridisperse particles was achieved for top-bottom smaller-to-larger initial loading, while that of polydisperse systems was achieved using top-bottom smaller-to-larger and top-bottom larger-to-smaller initial loading methods.

são Paulo state has witnessed CO_(2)storage-based investigations considering the availability of suitable geologic structures and proximity to primary CO_(2)source sinks related to bioenergy and carbon capture and storage(bECCs)*** current study presents the hydrocarbon viability evaluations and CO_(2)storage prospects,focusing on the sandstone units of the Rio bonito *** objective is to apply petrophysical evaluations with geochemical inputs in predicting future hydrocarbon(gas)production to boost CO_(2)storage within the study *** study used data from eleven wells with associated wireline logs(gamma ray,resistivity,density,neutron,and sonic)to predict potential hydrocarbon accumulation and fluid mobility in the investigated *** samples(shale and carbonate)obtained from depths>200 m within the study location have shown bitumen *** geochemistry data of the Rio bonito Formation shale beds suggest they are potential hydrocarbon source rocks and could have contributed to the gas accumulations within the sandstone *** drilled well data,e.g.,Cb-1-sP and TI-1-sP,show hydrocarbon(gas)presence based on the typical resistivity and the combined neutron-density responses at depths up to 3400 m,indicating the possibility of other hydrocarbon members apart from the heavy oil(bitumen)observed from the near-surface rocks *** the three-dimensional(3-D)model,the free fluid indicator(FFI)is more significant towards the southwest and southeast of the area with deeper depths of occurrence,indicating portions with reasonable hydrocarbon recovery rates and good prospects for CO_(2)injection,circulation and permanent ***,future studies based on contemporary datasets are required to establish the hydrocarbon viability further,foster gas production events,and enhance CO_(2)storage possibilities within the region.

Introduction:The Canadian Forest Fire Danger Rating system(CFFDRs)is a globally known wildland fire risk assessment system,and two major components,the fire weather index system and the fire behavior prediction system,have been extensively used both nationally and internationally to aid operational wildland fire decision ***:In this paper,we present an overview of an R package cffdrs,which is developed to calculate components of the CFFDRs,and highlight some of its *** particular,we demonstrate how these functions could be used for large data *** and Discussion:With this cffdrs package,we provide a portal for not only a collection of R functions dealing with all available components in CFFDRs but also a platform for various additional developments that are useful for the understanding of fire occurrence and *** is the first time that all relevant CFFDRs methods are incorporated into the same platform,which can be accessed by both the management and research communities.

Granulitic lunar meteorites offer rare insights into the timing and nature of igneous,metamorphic and impact processes in the lunar *** dating the different events recorded by these materials is very challenging,however,due to low trace element abundances (***,Nd,Lu,Hf),rare micrometerscale U-Th-bearing accessory minerals,and disturbed Ar-Ar systematics following a multi-stage history of shock and thermal *** we report on micro-baddeleyite grains in granulitic mafic breccia NWA 3163 for the first time and show that targeted microstructural analysis (electron backscatter diffraction) and nanoscale geochronology (atom probe tomography) can overcome these barriers to lunar chronology.A twinned (-90°/) baddeleyite domain yields a 232Th/208Pb age of 4328 ± 309 ma,which overlaps with a robust secondary ion mass spectrometry (sIms) 207Pb/206Pb age of 4308± 18.6 ma and is interpreted here as the crystallization age for the igneous protolith of NWA 3163.A second microstructural domain,mm in width,contains patchy overprinting baddeleyite and yields a Th-Pb age of 2175± 143 ma,interpreted as dating the last substantial impact event to affect the *** finding demonstrates the potential of combining microstructural characterization with nanoscale geochronology when resolving complex P-T-t histories in planetary materials,here yielding the oldest measured crystallization age for components of lunar granulite NWA 3163 and placing further constraints on the formation and evolution of lunar crust.

A model of Grid service Capacity

Computational grids （CGs） are large scale networks of geographically distributed aggregates of resource clusters that may be contributed by distinct organizations for the provision of computing services such as model simulation, compute cycle and data mining. Traditionally, the decision-making strategies underlying the grid management mechanisms rely on the physical view of the grid resource model. This entails the need for complex multi-dimensional search strategies and a considerable level of resource state information exchange between the grid management domains. In this paper we argue that with the adoption of service oriented grid architectures, a logical service-oriented view of the resource model provides a more appropriate level of abstraction to express the grid capacity to handle incoming service requests. In this respect, we propose a quantification model of the aggregated service capacity of the hosting environment that is updated based on the monitored state of the various environmental resources required by the hosted services. A comparative experimental validation of the model shows its performance towards enabling an adequate exploitation of provisioned services.
