underground pumped storage power plant(uPSP)is an innovative concept for space recycling of abandoned *** realization requires better understanding of the dynamic performance and durability of reservoir *** paper conducted ultrasonic detection,split Hopkinson pressure bar(SHPB)impact,mercury intrusion porosimetry(mIP),and backscatter electron observation(BSE)tests to investigate the dynamical behaviour and microstructure of sandstone with cyclical dry-wet damage.A coupling FEm-DEm model was constructed for reappearing mesoscopic structure *** results show that dry-wet cycles decrease the dynamic compressive strength(DCS)with a maximum reduction of 39.40%,the elastic limit strength is reduced from 41.75 to 25.62 *** sieved fragments obtain the highest crack growth rate during the 23rd dry-wet cycle with a predictable life of 25 cycles for each rock *** pore fractal features of the macropores and micro-meso pores show great differences between the early and late cycles,which verifies the computational statistics analysis of particle *** numerical results show that the failure patterns are governed by the strain in pre-peak stage and the shear cracks are *** dry-wet cycles reduce the energy transfer efficiency and lead to the discretization of force chain and crack fields.

In this paper the author presents a new class of nonlineaxity for which the global existence of small solutions is ensured. For example global existence of small solutions for arbitrary cubic termsarbitrary cubic termswill be established provided that c12 ≠c22.

Consider a system of nonlinear wave equations (e)2t-c2i△xui=Fi(u,(e)u,(e)x(e)u) in (0,∞)×(R)3 for i=1,┈,m,where Fi(i=1,┈,m) are smooth functions of degree 2 near the origin of their arguments, and u=(u1,┈,um),while (e)u and (e)x(e)u represent the first and (second derivatives of u, respectively. In this paper, the author presents a new class of nonlinearity for which the global existence of small solutions is ensured. For example, global existence of small solutions for((e)2t- c21Δx)u1 = u2((e)tu2) + arbitrary cubic terms,((e)2t - c22Δx)u2=u1((e)tu2) + ((e)tu1)u2 + arbitrary cubic termswill be established, provided that c21 ≠ c22.

Seed germination with selenium(Se)is promising for producing Se-biofortiﬁed ***(Vigna radiata(L.)Wilczek)sprout is freshly eaten as a salad dressed with sauce,making it superior for Se biofortiﬁ*** the Se safety range for the human body is extremely narrow,it is imperative to evaluate the genotypic responses of mungbean sprouts to *** study evaluated the Se enrichment capacity and interaction withﬂavonoids and antioxidant systems in sprouts of 20 mungbean *** treatment was done by immersing mung-bean seeds in 20μm sodium selenite solution for 8 ***,the biomass,Se amounts,ﬂavonoid(particularly vitexin and isovitexin)contents,antioxidant capacity,and key biosynthetic gene expressions were *** Se content was 2.0-7.0μg g^(-1) DW among the 20 mungbean *** treatment differentially affected the biomass,totalﬂavonoid,vitexin,isovitexin,antioxidant enzyme activities,and antioxidant capacities of the mungbean *** germplasms showed increased biomass(put 13 did not phenotypically respond to Se *** and six germplasms showed varied levels of vitexin and isovitexin increment after Se treatment,the highest measuring 2.67-and 2.87-folds for vitexin and isovitexin,*** mungbeanﬂavonoid biosynthesis genes,chalcone synthase(VrCHS)and chalcone isomerase(VrCHI)were signiﬁcantly up-regulated in the germplasms with increased vitexin and isovitexin levels(pmoreover,Se enrichment capacity was signiﬁcantly correlated with the vitexin,isovitexin,and antiox-idant *** conclusion,mungbean sprouts could be a useful Se-biofortiﬁed food,but the Se enrichment capacity and nutritional response must be determined for each germplasm before commercialization.

ORGANIZATIONAL LEARNING AND VENDOR SuPPORT QuALITY BY THE uSAGE OF APPLICATION SOFTWARE PACKAGES:A STuDY OF ASIAN ENTREPRENEuRS

In this paper we study how organizational learning impacts organizational behavior, and how vendor support quality enhances product adoption and usage behavior. These constructs were verified using Application Software Packages (ASP) - a prewritten, precoded, commercially available set of programs that eliminates the need for individuals or organizations to write their own software programs for certain functions. The relationship between ASP usage, usage outcomes and use processes were also investigated. Two hundred and ninety-five Chinese, Indian, and malay entrepreneurships were studied. It was found that usage outcome strongly determines usage, while use process has only an indirect relationship (via outcome) on usage. The impact of organizational learning and vendor service quality on usage, usage outcome, and use process were robust. Theoretical and practical implications of the research are discussed.

THE INTERFACE EFFECT AND THE FORmATION OF A LOW-LEVEL JET ALONG THE EAST SIDE OF THE ROCKY mOuNTAINS

Based upon the analysis of several different causes for the low-level jet along the east side of the Rocky mountains, the concept of "Interface Effect" is established. The basic mechanism for the formation of the low-level jet in North America has been found to be the compression and divergence, under the driving of ageostrophic winds, of the air columns between two surfaces-the ground and the bottom of inversion-which slope with different patterns in a cross-section normal to the jet stream. As a result, the air parcel is accelerated along the streamline and the anticyclonic shear of the current increased. Also, the diurnal variation of the jet is determined by the interface effect.

Concurrency debugging is an extremely important yet challenging problem that has been hampering developer productivity and software reliability in the multicore era. We have worked on this problem in the past eight years and have developed several effective methods and automated tools for helping developers debugging shared memory concurrent programs. This article discusses challenges in concurrency debugging and summarizes our research contributions in four important directions： concurrency bug reproduction, detection, understanding, and fixing. It also discusses other recent advances in tackling these challenges.

Cardiogenic shock (CS) is a leading cause of mortality worldwide. CS presentation and management in the current era have been widely depicted in epidemiological studies. Its treatment is codified and relies on medical care and extracorporeal life support (ECLS) in the bridge to recovery, chronic mechanical device therapy, or transplantation. Recent improvements have changed the landscape of CS. The present analysis aims to review current medical treatments of CS in light of recent literature, including addressing excitation–contraction coupling and specific physiology on applied hemodynamics. Inotropism, vasopressor use, and immunomodulation are discussed as pre-clinical and clinical studies have focused on new therapeutic options to improve patient outcomes. Certain underlying conditions of CS, such as hypertrophic or Takotsubo cardiomyopathy, warrant specifically tailored management that will be overviewed in this review.
