Effect of the initial ECAP passes on crystal texture and residual stresses of 5083 aluminum alloy

To produce a highly refined microstructure,several metals or alloys have been processed via equal-channel angular pressing(ECAP).In this work,the mechanical and microstructural changes of the 5083 aluminum alloy in H11 condition after processed by two ECAP passes were *** ECAP H13 steel die with an inner angle(α)of 120°and outer curvature(β)of 20°was *** microstructural changes were associated with the loss of texture *** morphologies of the mg2Si andα-Al(mn,Fe)Si precipitates for the sample at the initial condition were similar to those subjected to two ECAP *** peak broadening measured by X-ray diffraction revealed an increment of both grain refinement and *** the second extrusion pass,the hardness increased by 62%compared with the initial ***,the heterogeneous hardness behavior was compatible with a highly localized dislocation *** two ECAP passes,shear parallel bands were observed to be at nearly 45°to the extrusion *** evaluation of first-order residual stress as a function of the depth of the analyzed sample displayed compressive or tensile values,depending on the measured *** the plastic deformation applied,the first and second-order residual stresses exhibited significant ***-Hall plots showed positive slopes,indicating an increment in the microstrain.

Vibrational frequency analysis of finite elastic tube filled with compressible viscous fluid

The vibrational frequency analysis of finite elastic tube filled with compressible viscous fluid has received plenty of attention in recent years. To apply frequency analysis to defect detection for example, it is necessary to investigate the vibrational behavior under appropriate boundary conditions. In this paper, we present a detailed theoretical study of the three dimensional modal analysis of compressible fluid within an elastic cylinder. The dispersion equations of flexura], torsional and longitudinal modes are derived by elastodynamic theory and the unsteady Stokes equation. The symbolic software mathematica is used in order to find the coupled vibration frequencies. The dispersion equation is deduced and analytically solved. The finite element results are compared with the present method for validation and an acceptable match between them are obtained.

Over the past century,age-related diseases,such as cancer,type-2 diabetes,obesity,and mental illness,have shown a significant increase,negatively impacting overall quality of *** on aged animal models have unveiled a progressive discoordination at multiple regulatory levels,including transcriptional,translational,and post-translational processes,resulting from cellular stress and circadian *** circadian clock emerges as a key regulator,sustaining physiological homeostasis and promoting healthy aging through timely molecular coordination of pivotal cellular processes,such as stem-cell function,cellular stress responses,and inter-tissue communication,which become disrupted during *** the crucial role of hypothalamic circuits in regulating organismal physiology,metabolic control,sleep homeostasis,and circadian rhythms,and their dependence on these processes,strategies aimed at enhancing hypothalamic and circadian function,including pharmacological and non-pharmacological approaches,offer systemic benefits for healthy *** brain-directed drug administration represents a promising avenue for effectively targeting specific brain regions,like the hypothalamus,while reducing side effects associated with systemic drug delivery,thereby presenting new therapeutic possibilities for diverse age-related conditions.

CeO2 nanoscale particles:Synthesis,characterization and photocatalytic activity under UVA light irradiation

CeO2nanoparticles(NPs) were synthesized in alkaline medium via the homogeneous precipitation method and were subsequently calcined at 80 ℃/24 h(assigned as CeO2-80) and 500 ℃/2 h(assigned as CeO2-500). The as-prepared materials and the commercial ceria(assigned as CeO2-com) were characterized using TGA-mS, XRD, SEm-EDX, UV-vis DRS and IEP techniques. The photocatalytic performances of all obtained photocatalysts were assessed by the degradation of Congo red azo-dye(CR) under UVAlight irradiation at various environmental key factors(e.g., reaction time and calcination temperature).Results reveal that CeO2compounds crystalize with cubic phase, CeO2-500 exhibits smaller crystallite size(9 nm vs 117 nm) than that of bare CeO2-com. SEm analysis shows that the materials are sphericallike in shape NPs with strong assembly of CeO2NPs observed in the CeO2-500 NPs. EDX analysis confirms the stoichiometry of CeO2NPs. UV-vis DRS measurement reveals that, CeO2-500 NPs exhibits a red-shift of absorption band and a more narrow bandgap(2.6 eV vs 3.20 eV) than that of bare CeO2-com. On the contrary, Urbach energy of Eu is found to be increased from 0.12 eV(CeO2-com) to 0.17 eV(CeO2-500),highlighting an increase of crystalline size and internal microstrain in the CeO2-500 NPs sample. Zeta potential(IEP) of CeO2-500 NPs is found to be 7.2. UVA-light-responsive photocatalytic activity is observed with CeO2-500 NPs at a rate constant of 10×10-3min-1, which is four times higher than that of CeO2-com(Kapp=2.4×10-3min-1) for the degradation of CR. Pseudo-first-order kinetic model gives the best fit. On the basis of the energy band diagram positions, the enhanced photocatalytic performance of CeO2-500 nano-catalyst can be ascribed to O2-, ’OH and R’+as the primary oxidative species involved in the degradation of RC under UVA-light irradiation.

The solvent-free in situ polymerization technique has the potential to tailor-make conformal interfaces that are essential for developing durable and safe lithium metal polymer batteries(LmPBs).Hence,much attention has been given to the eco-friendly and rapid ultraviolet(UV)-induced in situ photopolymerization process to prepare solid-state polymer *** this respect,an innovative method is proposed here to overcome the challenges of UV-induced photopolymerization(UV-curing)in the zones where UV-light cannot penetrate,especially in LmPBs where thick electrodes are *** proposed frontal-inspired photopolymerization(FIPP)process is a diverged frontal-based technique that uses two classes(dual)of initiators to improve the slow reaction kinetics of allyl-based monomers/oligomers by at least 50%compared with the conventional UV-curing *** possible reaction mechanism occurring in FIPP is demonstrated using density functional theory calculations and spectroscopic ***,the initiation mechanism identified for the FIPP relies on a photochemical pathway rather than an exothermic propagating front forms during the UV-irradiation step as the case with the classical frontal photopolymerization ***,the FIPP-based in situ cell fabrication using dual initiators is advantageous over both the sandwich cell assembly and conventional in situ photopolymerization in overcoming the limitations of mass transport and active material utilization in high energy and high power LmPBs that use thick ***,the LmPB cells fabricated using the in situ-FIPP process with high mass loading LiFePO_(4)electrodes(5.2 mg cm^(-2))demonstrate higher rate capability,and a 50%increase in specific capacity against a sandwich cell encouraging the use of this innovative process in large-scale solid-state battery production.

management of glaucoma in pregnancy:risks or choices,a dilemma?

The treatment of glaucoma in and around pregnancy offers the unique challenge of balancing the risk of vision loss to the mother as against the potential harm to the fetus or newborn. most anti-glaucoma drugs（***-blockers, prostaglandin analogues, carbonic anhydrase inhibitors topical and systemic, cholinergics,anticholinesterases, and apraclonidine） are considered category C agents and ophthalmologists are usually limited to treating patients with the category B drugs of brimonidine and dipivefrin. Brimonidine is generally the preferred first-line drug in the first, second and early third trimester. Late in the third trimester, brimonidine should be discontinued because it can induce central nervous system depression in newborns wherein topical carbonic anhydrase inhibitors may be the optimal *** surgery can be performed with caution in second and third trimester if the patients have a strong indication for the procedure. However, anesthetics,sedative agents, and antimetabolites still have potential risk for the fetus. Argon laser trabeculoplasty（ALT） or selective laser trabeculoplasty（SLT） is an alternative treatment that can be performed in all *** anhydrase inhibitors and β-blockers are certified by the American Academy of Pediatrics for use during nursing. However, low doses of these medications should be considered when used in the breast feeding period. Optimum treatment for glaucoma in pregnancy must not be withheld so as to prevent any further deterioration in progressive vision loss and quality of life.

Lysosomal acid lipase(LAL) deficiency is an underrecognized lysosomal disease caused by deficient enzymatic activity of *** this report we describe two affected female mexican siblings with early hepatic *** two months of age,the first sibling presented with alternating episodes of diarrhea and constipation,and later with hepatomegaly,elevated transaminases,high levels of total and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol,and low levels of highdensity *** hypertension and grade 2 esophageal varices were detected at four years of *** second sibling presented with hepatomegaly,elevated transaminases and mildly elevated lowdensity lipoprotein and low high-density lipoprotein at six months of *** activity was deficient in both *** of LIPA revealed two previously unreported heterozygous mutations in exon 4:c.253C>A and c.294C>*** cases highlight the clinical continuum between the so-called Wolman disease and cholesteryl ester storage disease,and underscore that LAL deficiency represents a single disease with a degree of clinical heterogeneity.

On Strong metric Dimension of Graphs and Their Complements

A vertex x in a graph G strongly resolves a pair of vertices v, w if there exists a shortest x-w path containing v or a shortest x-v path containing w in G. A set of vertices SV（G） is a strong resolving set of G if every pair of distinct vertices of G is strongly resolved by some vertex in S. The strong metric dimension of G, denoted by sdim（G）, is the minimum cardinality over all strong resolving sets of G. For a connected graph G of order n≥2, we characterize G such that sdim（G） equals 1, n-1, or n-2, respectively. We give a Nordhaus–Gaddum-type result for the strong metric dimension of a graph and its complement： for a graph G and its complement G, each of order n≥4 and connected, we show that 2≤sdim（G）＋sdim（G）≤2（ n-2）. It is readily seen that sdim（G）＋sdim（G）=2 if and only if n=4; we show that, when G is a tree or a unicyclic graph, sdim（G）＋sdim（G）=2（n 2） if and only if n=5 and G ～=G ～=C5, the cycle on five vertices. For connected graphs G and G of order n≥5, we show that 3≤sdim（G）＋sdim（G）≤2（n-3） if G is a tree; we also show that 4≤sdim（G）＋sdim（G）≤2（n-3） if G is a unicyclic graph of order n≥6. Furthermore, we characterize graphs G satisfying sdim（G）＋sdim（G）=2（n-3） when G is a tree or a unicyclic graph.

An update on the molecular biology of glioblastoma,with clinical implications and progress in its treatment

On the Combination of Silica Fume and Ceramic Waste for the Sustainable Production of mortar

The combined use of silica fume(SF)and ceramic waste(CW)for the production of mortar is *** is replaced by 5%,10%,15%and 20%of CW while a fixed 5%percentage(%wt of cement)of SF is *** results show that the best results are obtained by using silica fume and ceramic waste sand with 15%weight of sand and 5%wt of *** the addition of sand ceramic waste(SCW),the mortar compressive strength and density increase,while the porosity displays an opposite *** experimental analysis is complemented with theoretical considerations on the matrix strength and related improvements in mechanical *** is shown that the agreement between the experimental values and the estimated values is good.
