Constipation is common in the diseases of the digestive system in *** the change in diet structure and the increase in life pressure,the prevalence rate increases year by *** traditional Chinese medicine(TCM),the location of the disease of constipation is in the large intestine,which is related to the dysfunction of lung,spleen,liver,kidney and other *** pathogenesis is conductive dysfunction of large *** on the theory,Shouhui Tongbian Capsule(SHTB)is composed of eight traditional Chinese medicines,including Polygoni multiflori Radix(Heshouwu in Chinese),Aloe(Luhui in Chinese),Cassiae Semen(Juemingzi in Chinese),Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma(Renshen in Chinese),Lycii Fructus(Gouqizi in Chinese),Asini Corii Colla(Ejiao in Chinese),Aurantii Fructus Immaturus(Zhishi in Chinese),and Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma(Baizhu in Chinese),which could help to release excessive turbid,and nourishing yin and supplementing qi in the *** study has been carried out to review the latest advances of SHTB in the treatment of *** results showed that significant effect of SHTB was found in the treatment of constipation,such as functional constipation,and constipation associated with tumor chemotherapy,colitis,type 2 diabetes and chronic cardiac ***,obvious adverse reactions were not *** could effectively treat five types of constipation,provide direction for the future exploration of SHTB in the treatment of other types of constipation。

BACKGROUND Differences in the preoperative characteristics and weight loss outcomes after sleeve gastrectomy(SG)between patients with familial aggregation of obesity(FAO)and patients with sporadic obesity(SO)have not been *** To explore the impact of SG on weight loss and the alleviation of obesity-related comorbidities in individuals with *** A total of 193 patients with obesity who underwent SG were *** with FAO/SO were matched 1:1 by propensity score matching and were categorized into 4 groups based on the number of first-degree relatives with obesity(1 SO vs 1FAO,2SO vs 2FAO).The baseline characteristics,weight loss outcomes,prevalence of obesity-related comorbidities and incidence of major surgeryrelated complications were compared between *** We defined FAO as the presence of two or more first-degree relatives with *** with FAO did not initially show significant differences in baseline data,short-term postoperative weight loss,or obesity-related comorbidities when compared to patients with SO ***,distinctions between the two groups became evident at the two-year mark,with statistically significant differences in both percentage of total weight loss(P=0.006)and percentage of excess weight loss(Pgroup exhibited weaker remission of type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM)(P=0.031),hyperlipidemia(P=0.012),and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD)(P=0.003)as well as a lower incidence of acid reflux(P=0.038).CONCLUSION FAO patients is associated with decreased mid-to-long-term weight loss outcomes;the alleviation of T2DM,hyperlipidemia and NAFLD;and decreased incidence of acid reflux postoperatively.

Two new C-glucoside oxanthrones from Rumex gmelini

Static and dynamic studies of adsorption by four macroporous resins to enrich oridonin from Rabdosia rubescens

Oridonin,one of the active ingredients in Rabdosia rubescens(***),has been reported to induce cell apoptosis and cell cycle arrest in many *** extraction methods tend to result in unsatisfied enrichment and poor quality of oridonin present in a given *** paper aims to evaluate the performance and separation characteristics of four different macroporous resins to arrive at the most suitable methodology for the isolation and purification of highquality *** absorption kinetics,thermodynamic and dynamic adsorption were ***20 was selected for further study due to its high adsorption capacity of 32 mgg 1 and desorption ratio with 98.5%.The pseudosecondorder model was considered to be the most suitable for kinetic results,and Langmuir model was chosen to better describe the absorption *** optimum conditions(flow rate of 4 ml min 1,bed depth with 6 cm and initial concentration of 2.15 mg·ml^1),the effective content of oridonin increased from 33.9%to 79.1%in the dry extract with a recovery of 81%and the purity of oridonin improved from 76%to 93%.The results confirm that HP20 provides an efficient method to purify most oridonin from ***.

Preparation and Activity Identification of Recombinant Protein PACAP-PTD

[Objective] This study aimed to prepare recombinant protein PACAP-PTD and measure its activity. [Method] The gene that encodes fusion protein PACAP-PTD was cloned into the expression vector pKYB to construct recombinant expression vector pKYB-PACAP-PTD, which was then transformed into E. coli ER2566. The fusion protein consisting of PACAP-PTD, intein and chitin was expressed under the induction of IPTG. Finally, the target fusion protein PACAP-PTD was purified with IMPACT system （ Intein Mediated Purification with an Affinity of chitin-binding Tag）, and its activities to cross blood-brain barrier and to promote cell proliferation were measured. [ Result~ The molecular weight of the fusion protein PACAP-PTD determined with laser time-of-flight mass spectrometry was con- sistent with the theoretical value. In addition, the protein could effectively cross the blood-brain barrier and promote cell proliferation as well. [ Conclusion] The construction and preparation of the fusion protein PACAP-PTD not only lays foundation for further study on its biological function, but also improves the route of PACAP administration, and thus expands its scope of application.

Plant Regeneration through Somatic Embryo in Herpetospermum pedunculosum, an Endangered Tibetan Medicinal Herb

Objective An effective reproducible protocol for complete plant regeneration via somatic embryogenesis has been developed for Herpetospermum pedunculosum, an endangered Tibetan medicinal herb. Methods The cotyledon explants used in this study were excised from seedlings germinated in vitro. Callus was induced from cotyledon explants on Murashige and Skoog’s medium, supplemented with 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2,4-D, 0.1–1.0 mg/L) alone or in combination with 6-benzylaminopurine (BA, 0.5, 1.0, and 2.0 mg/L). Results The calli showed differentiation of globular embryos after three weeks of incubation on MS medium supplemented with various combinations of BA and NAA. Sixty-two percent of the embryogenic calli produced somatic embryos in MS basal medium supplemented with BA (1.0 mg/L) + NAA (2.0 mg/L). The addition of KN (0.5 mg/L) to MS medium containing both BA and NAA (2.0 mg/L each) significantly increased the frequency of somatic embryogenesis. The maximum percentage of embryogenic calli formation was 83%, and globular embryos formed and germinated successfully in this medium. Then, transferring the regenerated plants from this medium to hormone-free MS medium will further enhanced the development of the plants, and the healthy plantlets are formed successfully within four weeks. The plantlets were transferred to soil to acclimatize under greenhouse conditions and 75% survived. Conclusion Somatic embryogenesis protocol as reported here can play a key role in the propagation and conservation of this endangered species.

Synthesis of novel β-amino ketones containing a p-aminobenzoic acid moiety and evaluation of their antidiabetic activities

The synthesis of two series of [3-amino ketones containing a p-aminobenzoic acid moiety （TM.1 and TM-2） using a modified protocol of the Mannich reaction is reported. The molecular structures of a total of tweenty three new target compounds were characterized by ~H NMR, 1~C NMR, ESI-MS and HR-MS. Subsequently, their antidiabetic activities were screened in vitro. The c^-glucodase inhibition （c^-GI） activity of compound le reached a remarkable level of 66.50%. The peroxisome proliferator- activated receptor （PPAR） relative activation activities of six compounds are above 80%, and in particular 2i displays an un- precedentedly high PPAR of 130.91%. The structure-activity relationships of the compounds were established. 2i is also sub- ject to further in-depth investigation.

Development of liquiritigenin-phospholipid complex with the enhanced oral bioavailability
