We subsequently found that rainfall,atmospheric pressure change,temperature,humidity and wind had no effect on flight behavior of E schultzei,or on their positions within *** findings suggest rainfall is not a serious hazard for *** thrips can survive raindrop collisions during flight,as impacts with water droplets are not expected to break the surface tension.

Understanding the densification behaviours and formation mechanisms of defects are essential to fabricate high quality and high strength aluminium components using selective laser melting(SLM) technology. In this work, the effects of laser power and scanning speed on the densification, defects evolution and their formation mechanisms in a SLMed 2024 aluminium(Al) alloy were investigated in consideration of the corresponding laser energy input, melting mode transition and microstructural evolution. The results showed that optimizing the processing parameters effectively reduced the porosity level below1% by avoiding the lack of fusion and keyhole melting mode, and minimizing the gas pores. However,optimization of the processing parameters could not eliminate the columnar structure associated with the SLMed 2024 Al alloy, which contributed to the hot-tearing cracks in the SLMed parts. It was found that the dependence of porosity formation on SLM processing parameters was contrary to the crack density. Hence, to further improve the SLM-processability of the 2024 Al alloy it is necessary to develop SLM methods in order avoid the hot-cracking within the optimized processing parameter window associated with the minimum porosity formation.

The importance of natural enemies as the foundation of integrated pest management （IPM） is widely accepted, but few studies conduct the manipulative field experiments necessary to directly quantify their impact on pest populations in this context. This is particularly true for predators. Studying arthropod predator-prey interactions is inherently difficult： prey items are often completely consumed, individual predator-prey interactions are ephemeral （rendering their detection difficult） and the typically fluid or soft-bodied meals cannot be easily identified visually within predator guts. Serological techniques have long been used in arthropod predator gut-contents analysis, and current enzyme linked immunosorbent assays （ELISA） are highly specific and sensitive. Recently, poly- merase chain reaction （PCR） methods for gut-contents analysis have developed rapidly and they now dominate the diagnostic methods used for gut-contents analysis in field-based research. This work has identified trophic linkages within food webs, determined predator diet breadth and preference, demonstrated the importance of cannibalism and intraguild predation within and between certain taxa, and confirmed the benefits （predator persis- tence） and potential disadvantages （reduced feeding on pest species） of the availability of alternative nonpest prey. Despite considerable efforts to calibrate gut-contents assays, these methods remain qualitative. Available techniques for predator gut-contents analysis can provide rapid, accurate, cost-effective identification of predation events. As such, they perfectly compliment the ecological methods developed to directly assess predator im- pacts on prey populations but which are imperfect at identifying the key predators. These diagnostic methods for gut-contents analysis are underexploited in agricultural research and they are almost never applied in unison with the critical field experiments to measure predator impact. The rapid increase in the proportion of cash crops and livestock production in the Yangtze River Basin has led to commensurate increases in fertilizer and pesticide inputs. Excessive application of chemical fertilizer, organophosphorus pesticides and inappropriate disposal of agricultural waste induced water pollution and potentially threaten Agriculture Green Development(AGD). To ensure food security and the food supply capacity of the Yangtze River Basin, it is important to balance green and development, while ensuring the quality of water bodies. Multiple pollutants affect the transfer, adsorption, photolysis and degradation of each other throughout the soil-plant-water system. This paper considers the impact of multi-pollutants on the nitrogen and phosphorus cycles especially for crops, which are related to achieving food security and AGD. It presents prospective on theory, modeling and multi-pollutant control in the Yangtze River Basin for AGD that are of potential value for other developing regions.

A Generic Model to Estimate Wheat LAI over Growing Season Regardless of the Soil-Type Background

It is valuable to develop a generic model that can accurately estimate the leaf area index(LAI)of wheat from unmanned aerial vehicle-based multispectral data for diverse soil backgrounds without any ground *** achieve this objective,2 strategies were investigated to improve our existing random forest regression(RFR)model,which was trained with simulations from a radiative transfer model(PROSAIL).The 2 strategies consisted of(a)broadening the reflectance domain of soil background to generate training data and(b)finding an appropriate set of indicators(band reflectance and/or vegetation indices)as inputs of the RFR *** RFR models were tested in diverse soils representing varying soil types in *** analysis indicated that adopting both strategies resulted in a generic model that can provide accurate estimation for wheat LAI and is resistant to changes in soil *** validation on 2 years of field trials,this model achieved high prediction accuracy for LAI over the entire crop cycle(LAI up to 7 m^(2)m^(−2))(root mean square error(RMSE):0.23 to 0.89 m^(2)m^(−2)),including for sparse canopy(LAI less than 0.3 m^(2)m^(−2))grown on different soil types(RMSE:0.02 to 0.25 m^(2)m^(−2)).The model reliably captured the seasonal pattern of LAI dynamics for different treatments in terms of genotypes,plant densities,and water–nitrogen managements(correlation coefficient:0.82 to 0.98).With appropriate adaptations,this framework can be adjusted to any type of sensors to estimate various traits for various species(including but not limited to LAI of wheat)in associated disciplines,e.g.,crop breeding,precision agriculture,etc.

The liquid-phase partial oxidation of propane in the presence of the Fen+/H2O2 Fenton system at 70℃ and 1.4 atm on silica supported Nafion catalysts has been investigated. The reaction proceeds via a radical reaction path the efficiency of which is improved by silica-supported Nafion catalysts. Because of the direct relationship between reaction rate and concentration of sulphonic acid sites of Nafion catalysts, it is inferred that the active phase enahnces the kinetics of propane conversion by promoting the rate of active radicals generation.

In this study, leaf-like one-dimensional InAs nanostructures were grown by the metal-organic chemical vapor deposition method. Detailed structural charac- terization suggests that the nanoleaves contain relatively low-energy {122} or {133} mirror twins acting as their midribs and narrow sections connecting the nanoleaves and their underlying bases as petioles. Importantly, the mirror twins lead to identical lateral growth of the twinned structures in terms of crystallography and polarity, which is essential for the formation of lateral symmetrical nanoleaves. It has been found that the formation of nanoleaves is driven by catalyst energy minimization. This study provides a biomimic of leaf found in nature by fabricating a semiconductor nanoleaf.
