Facile fabrication of covalent organic framework functionalized superhydrophobic porous sponges for highly efficient water/oil separation

Considering the serious environmental pollution and economic losses caused by increasing oil spills and chemical leaks,effective and eco-friendly methods of oil/water separation should be urgently ***,a facile strategy(about 20 min)was developed for integrating covalent organic framework(COF)particles with melamine sponges(MS)by covalent bonding,and then a superhydrophobic COF/MS composite(denoted OA-CP@MS)could be further obtained by following modification with a 1-octadecylamine/water ***,the synthesis process was developed under a mild condition that avoids the need for sealing and high-temperature *** was proven that the fabricated OA-CP@MS presented a prominent absorption capacity for various organic reagents,in which adsorption capacity of chloroform could be up to 173 g/*** to its excellent chemical robustness in strong alkaline and saline environments and in various organic solvents,the prepared OACP@MS showed a great potential to perform oil/water separation in complex practical *** rapid preparation process,fluorine-free treatment,and water-based modification would extend the application of COF materials in oil/water separation.

The activation of gold by environmental neutrons through the reaction 197Au (n,γ) 198Au was used to study the effect of concrete buildings on the neutron flux, and to estimate the thermal neutron flux inside and outside these buildings. The results showed that three ceilings of thickness 34 g/cm2 decrease the fast neutrons to 26% from its original value. However, the same reinforced concrete decreases the slow neturon flux to only 62% of its original value. The thermal neutron flux at 283 m from the center of Training Reactor of Kinki University, was twice higher than the environmental neutron background.

Applying the extreme low-level γ-ray spectroscopic analysis the environmental neutron flux is measured using different moderator construction and environment through the reaction 197Au (n, γ) 198Au. The contribution of thermal and resonance neutrons is separated using the cadmium difference technique, while fast neutrons are measured by the paraffin moderator. The results of altitude dependence of the neutron flux are discussed. The thermal neutron flux near the surface of sea water is less than its value at 100 cm over ground near sea water, while the value over the surfaces of fresh water is higher than that near the surface of sea water. Also the thermal neutron flux at 5 cm soil depth increases, then decreases to its original value at 10 cm depth and still constant until 25 cm, then decreases rapidly to reach 27% of its original value at 60 cm depth. The soil compositions, corresponding neutron temperatures and effective absorption cross sections of earth are the most effective factors on the equilibrium region of thermal neutrons in the ground.

A 150-nm-thick CaN photocathode with a Mg doping concentration of 1.6 × 1017 cm-3 is activated by Cs/O in an ultrahigh vacuum chamber, and a quantum efficiency （QE） curve of the negative electron affinity transmission-mode （t-mode） of the GaN photocathode is obtained. The maximum QE reaches 13.0% at 290 nm. According to the t-mode QE equation solved from the diffusion equation, the QE curve is fitted. From the fitting results, the electron escape probability is 0.32, the back-interface recombination velocity is 5 ×104 cm. s^-1, and the electron diffusion length is 116 nm. Based on these parameters, the influence of CaN thickness on t-mode QE is simulated. The simulation shows that the optimal thickness of GaN is 90 nm, which is better than the 150-nm GaN.

The tensile strain in inorganic perovskite films induced by thermal annealing is one of the primary factors contributing to the inefficiency and instability of inorganic perovskite solar cells （IPSCs）,which reduces the defect formation ***,a flexible molecule 5-maleimidovaleric acid （5-MVA） was introduced as a strain buffer to release the residual strain of *** anhydride and carboxyl groups in 5-MVA interact strongly with the uncoordinated Pb2+through Lewis acid-base reaction,thus tightly“pull”the perovskite *** in-between soft carbon chain increased the structural flexibility of CsPbI2.85Br0.15perovskite materials,which effectively relieved the intrinsic internal strain of CsPbI2.85Br0.15,resisted the corrosion of external strain,and also reduced the formation of defects such as VIand *** addition,the introduction of 5-MVA improved crystal quality,passivated residual defects,and narrowed energy level ***,power conversion efficiency （PCE） of NiOxbased inverted IPSCs increased from 19.25% to 20.82% with the open-circuit voltage enhanced from 1.164 V to 1.230 *** release of strain also improved the stability of CsPbI2.85Br0.15perovskite films and devices.

This study presents a novel method to fabricate metal-decorated,sulfur-doped layered double hydroxides （M/SLDH） through spontaneous redox and sulfurization *** developed Ag/SLDH and Pt/SLDH catalysts with abundant heterogeneous interfaces and hierarchical nanostructures demonstrated outstanding oxygen evolution reaction （OER） and hydrogen evolution reaction （HER） performance,achieving low overpotentials of 212 and 35 mV at 10 mA cm-2in 1 M KOH,*** both anode and cathode in water splitting,they required only 1.47 V to reach 10 mA cm-2and exhibited high structural robustness,maintaining stability at 1000 mA cm-2for 300 ***-situ Raman analysis revealed that the synergistic effects of metal nanoparticles and S doping significantly promote the transformation into the S-Co1-xFexOOH layer,which serves as the active phase for water ***,ultraviolet photoelectron spectroscopy （UPS） and density functional theory （DFT） analyses indicated that incorporating metal nanoparticles and S doping increase electron density near the Fermi level and reduce reaction energy barriers,thus enhancing intrinsic OER and HER *** study provides a scalable strategy for synthesizing high-performance electrocatalysts for water splitting,with promising potential for broader applications.

In order to develop the photodetector for effective blue-green response, the 18-mm-diameter vacuum image tube combined with the transmission-mode Alo.7Gao.3Aso.9Po.1/GaAso.9Po.1 photocathode grown by molecular beam epitaxy is tentatively fabricated. A comparison of photoelectric property, spectral characteristic and performance parameter be- tween the transmission-mode GaAsP-based and blue-extended GaAs-based photocathodes shows that the GaAsP-based photocathode possesses better absorption and higher quantum efficiency in the blue-green waveband, combined with a larger surface electron escape probability. Especially, the quantum efficiency at 532 nm for the GaAsP-based photocathode achieves as high as 59%, nearly twice that for the blue-extended GaAs-based one, which would be more conducive to the underwater range-gated imaging based on laser illumination. Moreover, the simulation results show that the favorable blue-green response can be achieved by optimizing the emission-layer thickness in a range of 0.4 μm-0.6 μm.

The quantum yield formula for uniform-doping GaAIAs/GaAs transmission-mode photocathodes is revised by taking into account the light absorption in the window *** using the revised quantum yield formula,the domestic and ITT's experimental quantum yield curves are fitted and the fitted curves match well with the experimental *** addition,the fit results show that the integral sensitivity and quantum yield of domestic image intensifier tube has achieved 2130μA/lm and 45%,nearly reaching ITT's third generation level in 2002,whereas the discrepancy in cathode performance is mainly embodied in the electron diffusion length and back interface recombination velocity.

Mycobacterium tuberculosis(***) and human immunodeficiency virus(HIV) co-infection has become a public health issue worldwide. Up to now, there have been many unresolved issues either in the clinical diagnosis and treatment of ***/HIV coinfection or in the basic understanding of the mechanisms for the impairments to the immune system by interactions of these two pathogens. One important reason for these unsolved issues is the lack of appropriate animal models for the study of ***/HIV coinfection. This paper reviews the recent development of research on the animal models of ***/HIV co-infection, with a focus on the non-human primate models.
