Background Necrotizing enterocolitis(NEC)is the most common severe gastrointestinal emergency in *** designed this study to identify the pathogenic microorganisms of NEC in the microbiota of the small intestine of *** Using the 16S ribosomal DNA(rDNA)sequencing method,we compared and analyzed the structure and diversity of microbiotas in the intestinal feces of different groups of neonates:patients undergoing jejunostomy to treat NEC(NP group),neonates undergoing jejunostomy to treat other conditions(NN group),and neonates with NEC undergoing conservative treatment(NC group).We took intestinal feces and saliva samples from patients at different time *** The beta diversities of the NP,NN,and NC groups were all *** comparing the beta diversities between different time points in the NP group,we found similar beta diversities at time points El to E3 but significant differences between the E2-E3 and E4 time points:the abundances of Klebsiella and Enterococcus(Proteobacteria)were higher at the E1-E3 time points;the abundance of Escherichia-Shigella(Proteobacteria)increased at the E2 time point,and the abundance of Klebsiella decreased significantly,whereas that of Streptococcus increased significantly at the E4 time *** Our results suggest that the pathological changes of intestinal necrosis in the small intestine of infants with NEC are not directly caused by excessive proliferation of pathogenic bacteria in the small *** sources of microbiota in the small intestine of neonates,especially in premature infants,may be affected by multiple factors.

Tribological performance of organic cadmium compound as lubricant additive

The oil-soluble cadmium dipropyldithiophosphate additive was synthesized. A four-ball tester was used to evaluate the tribological performance of the additive in a mineral oil under different loads and lubricant grease synthesized compared with some commercial additives. The results show that it exhibits excellent antiwear and load-carrying capacities and is better than other additives. The surface analytical tools such as scanning electron microscope (SEM) with energy dispersive X-ray (EDX), X-ray photoelectron spectrometer (XPS) were used to investigate the topography, the compositions, and chemical states of some typical elements on the rubbing surface of worn *** and light topography of worn scar further confirms that the additive shows good antiwear capacities. The results of EDX and XPS analyses indicate that tribochemical mixed protective films consisting of atomic cadmium, sulphides, sulphates and phosphates are formed on the rubbing surface, which contribute to improving the tribological properties of lubricant and grease. Particularly, the soft cadmium film formed plays an important role in improving antiwear properties of oils. Finally, antiwear mechanism of the additive and formation scheme of atomic cadmium was proposed.

Effects of Nitrogen-Containing Biodegradation Enhancers on Sorption of n-Hexadecane in Soil-Water System

Effects of nitrogen-containing biodegradation enhancers(methyl diethanolamine oleate(MDEAO) and oleic diethanolamide(ODEA)) on the adsorption of n-hexadecane in soil were studied by laboratory batch experiments. The partition coefficients(K_d values) of n-hexadecane sorption in soil-water system and those partition coefficients normalized to organic matter(K_(oc) values) were both determined. The adsorption isotherm curve of n-hexadecane in soil-water system was plotted. The measured results demonstrated that K_(oc) values changed in the soil-water system with different enhancers but are relatively invariant for the soil at the same site. The K_d values rose with the increase of the organic matter content in different soil. The average values of K_(oc) in the soil-water system with MDEAO, ODEA,and blank soil were 0.412, 0.252,and 0.309, respectively. The critical micelle concentration of ODEA and MDEAO was 0.7 mg/L and 1.9 mg/L, respectively,denoting that the solubilization capacity of ODEA was much stronger than MDEAO in the soil-water system. Consequently,the adsorption of MDEAO onto the solid surface increased the organic matter content in soil,which could make it more effective in enhancing the n-hexadecane adsorption. On the contrary, ODEA could inhibit the adsorption of n-hexadecane because of its less adsorption rate onto the soil particle surface and higher concentration in the soil-water system. According to the correlation coefficients, it was found that both the Henry linear and the Freundlich nonlinear isotherm sorption models were fitted to the data very well, however the Freundlich model was better than the Henry model.

Resource Planning and Allocation Problem Under Uncertain Environment

This paper generalizes the classic resource allocation problem to the resource planning and allocation problem, in which the resource itself is a decision variable and the cost of each activity is uncertain when the resource is determined. The authors formulate this problem as a two-stage stochastic programming. The authors first propose an efficient algorithm for the case with finite ***, a sudgradient method is proposed for the general case and it is shown that the simple algorithm for the unique state case can be used to compute the subgradient of the objective function. Numerical experiments are conducted to show the effectiveness of the model.

Effect of Oleic Acid Tris-(2-hydroxyethyl) isocyanurate Phosphate Ester on Biodegradability and Tribological Performance of Mineral Lubricating Oil

The oil solubility of synthetic oleic acid tris-(2-hydroxyethyl) isocyanurate phosphate ester(abbreviated as OHTP hereinafter) and its influence on the biodegradability and tribological performance of 400 SN mineral oil were investigated on a tester and a four-ball tribotester,respectively,for fast evaluating the biodegradability of ***,the morphologies and tribochemical species of the worn surfaces lubricated by OHTP-doped oil were studied by scanning electron microscope(SEM) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscope(XPS).The results indicated that OHTP possessed good oil solubility and could improve obviously the biodegradability,the extreme pressure properties,the anti-wear properties and friction-reducing properties of the 400 SN mineral *** analytical results of XPS spectra showed that the composite boundary lubrication films were mainly composed of absorbed films and tribochemical species such as FePO-4,Fe_3(PO_4)_2,Fe_2O_3 and Fe_3O_4,which contributed to improving the tribological performances.

THE IMPACTS OF PRICING SCHEMES ON DECENTRALIZED ASSEMBLY SYSTEMS

We study an assembly system where one assembler produces a final product to satisfy the price sensitive and uncertain demands. One unit of final product needs inputs from n complementary components each provided from a distinct supplier. The assembler orders from the suppliers and their relationships are governed by price-only contracts. The assembler practices two alternative pricing schemes： a fixed pricing scheme by which she fixes a retail price in all market situations, and a responsive pricing scheme by which she adjusts retail prices after observing actual demand curves. We find that, when the assembler practices the two pricing schemes, the suppliers charge the same wholesale prices, channel profit is allocated among the firms according to the same proportions, and the relative performances of the system under decentralized decision makings with respect to those under centralized decision makings are the same. Furthermore, responsive pricing improves the assembler＇s absolute performance, and the gains pass over to the suppliers in terms of higher profits and to the customers in terms of enhanced product availability and lowered market price.

Unmanned aerial vehicles(UAVs),commonly known as drones,have drawn significant consideration thanks to their agility,mobility,and flexibility *** play a crucial role in modern reconnaissance,inspection,intelligence,and surveillance *** path planning(CPP)which is one of the crucial aspects that determines an intelligent system’s quality seeks an optimal trajectory to fully cover the region of interest(ROI).However,the flight time of the UAV is limited due to a battery limitation and may not cover the whole region,especially in large ***,energy consumption is one of the most challenging issues that need to be *** this paper,we propose an energy-efficient coverage path planning algorithm to solve the CPP *** objective is to generate a collision-free coverage path that minimizes the overall energy consumption and guarantees covering the whole *** do so,the flight path is optimized and the number of turns is reduced to minimize the energy *** proposed approach first decomposes the ROI into a set of cells depending on a UAV camera ***,the coverage path planning problem is formulated,where the exact solution is determined using the CPLEX *** small-scale problems,the CPLEX shows a better solution in a reasonable ***,the CPLEX solver fails to generate the solution within a reasonable time for large-scale ***,to solve the model for large-scale problems,simulated annealing forCPP is *** results show that heuristic approaches yield a better solution for large-scale problems within amuch shorter execution time than the CPLEX ***,we compare the simulated annealing against the greedy *** results show that simulated annealing outperforms the greedy algorithm in generating better solution quality.

Minimalistic approach to left atrial appendage occlusion guided by cardiac computed tomography angiography

OBJECTIVE To assess the feasibility and safety of the minimalistic approach to left atrial appendage occlusion(LAAO) guided by cardiac computed tomography angiography(CCTA).METHODS Ninety consecutive patients who underwent LAAO, with or without CCTA-guided, were matched(1:2). Each step of the LAAO procedure in the computed tomography(CT) guidance group(CT group) was directed by preprocedural CT planning. In the control group, LAAO was performed using the standard method. All patients were followed up for 12 months, and device surveillance was conducted using *** A total of 90 patients were included in the analysis, with 30 patients in the CT group and 60 matched patients in the control group. All patients were successfully implanted with Watchman devices. The mean ages for the CT group and the control group were 70.0 ± 9.4 years and 68.4 ± 11.9 years(P = 0.52), respectively. The procedure duration(45.6 ± 10.7 min vs. 58.8 ± 13.0 min,P < 0.001) and hospital stay(7.5 ± 2.4 day vs. 9.6 ± 2.8 day, P = 0.001) in the CT group was significantly shorter compared to the control group. However, the total radiation dose was higher in the CT group compared to the control group(904.9 ± 348.0 m Gy vs.711.9 ± 211.2 m Gy, P = 0.002). There were no significant differences in periprocedural pericardial effusion(3.3% vs. 6.3%, P = 0.8) between the two groups. The rate of postprocedural adverse events(13.3% vs. 18.3%, P = 0.55) were comparable between both groups at 12 months *** CCTA is capable of detailed LAAO procedure planning. Minimalistic LAAO with preprocedural CCTA planning was feasible and safe, with shortened procedure time and acceptable increased radiation and contras consumption. For patients with contraindications to general anesthesia and/or transesophageal echocardiography, this promising method may be an alternative to conventional LAAO.
