Changes in Activities of Glutamine Synthetase during Grain Filling and Their Relation to Rice Quality

Four japonica rice varieties differed in cooking and eating qualities were used in a pot experiment to study the relationship between the activities of glutamine synthetase during grain filling and rice quality. The activities of glutamine synthetase gradually increased and then declined as a single peak curve in the course of grain filling. The 15 th day after heading was a turning point, before which the enzymatic activities in the inferior rice varieties with high protein content were higher than those in the superior rice varietie with low protein content, and after which it was converse. The activity of glutamine synthetase in grain was correlated with the taste meter value, peak viscosity and breakdown negatively at the early stage of grain filling whereas positively at the middle and late stages. Moreover, it was correlated with the protein content of rice grain and setback positively at the early stage and negatively at the middle and late stages. The correlation degree varied with the course of grain filling. From 15 days to 20 days after heading was a critical stage, in which the direction of correlation between the activity of glutamine synthetase and taste meter value and RVA properties of rice changed.

Objectives: This study aims to present the characteristics of the undergraduate dental curriculum system using network modelling and visualisation analysis based on complex network theory, thus providing a theoretical foundation for the course development and curriculum reform. Methods: The correlation coefficient was used to quantify the intensity of the correlation between courses, and a visualisation complex network of the dental curriculum was built to explore the curriculum pattern from a dynamic perspective. Further, the statistical measurements of curriculum network were adopted to express the most relevant topological features. Subsequently, the minimum spanning tree and parallel coordinates plot were drawn to explore the curriculum community structure, quantify the key courses, and present different courses in time and space relationships. Results: The correlation analysis results show that the courses are closely related to each other. The main courses focus on pathology, pathophysiology, oral anatomy and physiology, closely connecting almost all medicine-related courses. The whole course network has an average degree value of 41.53, and a clustering coefficient of 0.78, indicating an obvious small-world characteristic. From the perspective of curriculum attributes, the number of public and theoretical courses was more than that of skills and practical courses. Moreover, the academic performance of skills and practical courses was lower than that of public and theoretical courses. Conclusion: The undergraduate dental courses have a progressive structure from basic professional knowledge to professional skills, which is reasonable for the dental education in China. However, some efforts towards curriculum reform based on this study are needed.

【目的】在全球范畴下讨论中国化学类科技期刊与学科发展的匹配度,考量中国化学类科技期刊的学科发展环境、取得的成效与存在的不足,助力中国化学期刊高水平发展。【方法】以Web of science(WoS)化学相关分类遴选SCI收录的21种中国化学科技期刊,以WoS论文为数据基础,从规模、影响力、国际显示度等维度对我国化学学科与化学科技期刊的发展情况进行定量描述。结合问卷调查,了解化学领域科研人员的国内外发文倾向、对国内期刊论文的利用度及对中国化学科技期刊的评价,以及国内化学科技期刊的稿源情况、出版速度、自身评估、与学科匹配度等方面的情况。【结果】近年来,中国化学期刊的国际影响力明显提升,但期刊整体规模偏小,中国化学期刊在国际竞争中表现不突出,尚不能匹配学科发展。【结论】依托中国化学学科的科研产出体量和水平,中国化学期刊应重视科研人员需求,合理调节所刊载的国际论文和自主论文的比例;明确自身优势,开拓差异化发展方向,加快与学科发展的融合与契合。

A Functional-Structural Model of Rice Seedling Coupled with Nitrogen Metabolism

With the ability of representing the association and inner-feedback between plant morphological structure and physiological functions, functional-structural plant modeling (FSPM) approach has been used in many works, trying to better understand the mechanisms of integrating plant functions and its structure, and their communication with environmental factors. To do so, an FSPM of rice seedling was developed in this study, including structural morphogenetic model, photosynthetic model and biomass partitioning module. It can thus describe the developmental course of the rice structure dynamically based on the processes of biomass producing and partitioning. Furthermore, the processes of nitrogen metabolism, which influence the N content and growth dynamics of the virtual rice, were also considered. The model was developed with L-system on a platform established with Java programming language, which took over the parsing and visualization of the L-system strings to 3D objects using Java 3D extended library. The physiological processes in the model can be modified and further improved to gradually meet the needs for modeling the whole life cycle of rice, e. g., considering the respiration, and interaction with other environmental factors like CO2, temperature, etc.. The model was developed to provide a platform to systematically study and understand how plant systems like rice seedling work. The model and the virtualization platform can be expanded to provide decision support on N fertilizer application for the rice seedling and the other crops.

14-3-3γ is a multifunctional acidic protein that is induced by ischemia in neural cells,including astrocytes,and has a neuroprotective *** ischemia,a lack of oxygen（hypoxia） and glucose,and an accumulation of toxins,*** order to elucidate which ischemia components caused the damage to astrocytes and the induction of the protective protein 14-3-3γ,we examined the effects of hypoxia,glucose deprivation,and the accumulation of toxins,separately,and compared the degree of damage to ischemia *** caused a rapid upregulation of 14-3-3γthat occurred within 1 to 4 *** alone elevated 14-3-3γ expression,while glucose deprivation did not cause a detectable change in the 14-3-3γ mRNA and protein *** changes of toxic metabolites barely affected14-3-3γ gene and protein expression in the time course *** addition,comparing the activation of the ERK1/2,Akt,P38 and JNK signaling pathways under ischemia and hypoxia in astrocytes revealed mat ischemia activated all four pathways,while hypoxia had little effect on any of *** also observed how glutamate（Glu） and arachidonic acid（AA）,the main toxic substances released by neural cells during ischemia injury,affected the expression of the14-3-3 protein *** all members of the 14-3-3 family,β and γ were up-regulated rapidly after 3 hr of treatment with G1u or AA,while η and ε increased until 6 hr and ζ increased after *** results demonstrated that the three components of ischemia played diverse roles in the regulation of 14-3-3Y) that different isoforms of the 14-3-3family showed disparate responses to Glu and AA treatments,and that the JNK/c-Jun/AP-1 signaling pathway was involved in 14-3-3γ up-regulation.

Objective: To provide a decision-making basis for sustainable and effective development of cervical cancer ***: This cross-sectional study assesses the service capacity to conduct cervical cancer screening with a sample of 310 medical staff, medical institutions and affiliated township health centers from 20 countylevel/district-level areas in 14 Chinese provinces in ***: The county-level/district-level institutions were the main prescreening institutions for cervical cancer screening. More medical staff have become engaged in screening, with a significantly higher amounts in urban than in rural areas(Pcourse of the project. HPV testing took less time than cytology to complete the same number of screening tasks in both urban and rural areas. The proportion of mid-level professionals was the highest among the medical staff, 40.0% in urban and 44.7% in rural areas(P=0.406), and most medical staff had a Bachelor’s degree, accounting for 76.3% in urban and 52.0% in rural areas(P<0.001). In urban areas, 75.0% were qualified medical staff, compared with 68.0% in rural areas, among which the lowest proportion was observed for rural cytology inspectors(22.7%). The medical equipment for cervical pathology diagnosis in urban areas was better(P<0.001). HPV testing equipment was relatively adequate(typing test equipment was 70% in urban areas, and non-typing testing equipment was 70% in rural areas).Conclusions: The service capacity of cervical cancer screening is insufficient for the health needs of the Chinese population. HPV testing might be an optimal choice to fill the needs of cervical cancer screening given current Chinese medical health service capacity.

Analysis on Regulation Effect of Water Conservancy Project in Upper Reaches of Wujiang River,Guizhou on Runoff

Based on monthly runoff data of Hongjiadu,Guizhou from October 2013 to June 2015 and monthly runoff data of Yachi River,Guizhou from April 2014 to May 2015,using REOF and multiple linear regression analysis,regulation effect of water conservancy project in upper reaches of Wujiang River on monthly runoff of the river was analyzed. Seasonal temporal-spatial change of monthly runoff in Hongjiadu and Yachi River mainly contained two kinds of modalities. The first modality was that of Yachi River,which was main component of seasonal change of monthly runoff,and peak appeared in July. Space load of Yachi River modality was larger than Hongjiadu,and manual control ability of monthly runoff in Hongjiadu was larger than Yachi River. The second modality was that of Hongjiadu,and peak appeared in December. Space load of Hongjiadu modality was larger than Yachi River,and manual control ability of monthly runoff in Yachi River was larger than Hongjiadu. Seasonal changes of time components of two modalities had significant inverse phase. Regulation effect of Hongjiadu modality advanced Yachi River modality,and regulation effect of water conservancy project in Hongjiadu modality was larger than that of Yachi River modality,and seasonal distribution characteristics of regional rainfall was basically eliminated in Hongjiadu modality. Some seasonal distribution characteristics of regional rainfall were maintained in Yachi River modality. Monthly runoff modality of Yachi River had water storage regulation effect on a smaller part of regional monthly rainfall modality. Monthly runoff modality of Hongjiadu mainly had water storage regulation effect on south-north type of component of regional monthly rainfall,while most components of regional monthly rainfall modality did not have significant impact on monthly runoff modality of Hongjiadu.
