Printed Surface Defect Detection Model Based on Positive Samples

For a long time, the detection and extraction of printed surfacedefects has been a hot issue in the print industry. Nowadays, defect detectionof a large number of products still relies on traditional image processingalgorithms such as scale invariant feature transform (SIFT) and orientedfast and rotated brief (ORB), and researchers need to design algorithms forspecific products. At present, a large number of defect detection algorithmsbased on object detection have been applied but need lots of labeling sampleswith defects. Besides, there are many kinds of defects in printed surface,so it is difficult to enumerate all defects. Most defect detection based onunsupervised learning of positive samples use generative adversarial networks(GAN) and variational auto-encoders (VAE) algorithms, but these methodsare not effective for complex printed surface. Aiming at these problems, Inthis paper, an unsupervised defect detection and extraction algorithm forprinted surface based on positive samples in the complex printed surface isproposed innovatively. We propose a kind of defect detection and extractionnetwork based on image matching network. This network is divided into thefull convolution network of feature points extraction, and the graph attentionnetwork using self attention and cross attention. Though the key pointsextraction network, we can get robustness key points in the complex printedimages, and the graph network can solve the problem of the deviation becauseof different camera positions and the influence of defect in the differentproduction lines. Just one positive sample image is needed as the benchmarkto detect the defects. The algorithm in this paper has been proved in “TheFirst ZhengTu Cup on Campus Machine Vision AI Competition” and gotexcellent results in the finals. We are working with the company to apply it inproduction.

Health Awareness: A Significant Factor in Chronic Diseases Prevention and Access to Care

Health literacy and awareness are essential strategies in promoting global health and improving access to care. While seen as an essential tool for promoting population health awareness to improve early detection and treatment of chronic diseases, it is yet to be emphasized in most African countries. Health literacy is an essential practice to promote chronic disease prevention and reduce the growing threat to population health. Incidences and mortalities from chronic diseases commonly arise from limited knowledge of the causative risk factors and access to health facilities. Without knowledge about causes, health impacts, and available health services, people continue to indulge in the habits that worsen their health conditions and fail to access care timely. By using health literacy and awareness as a tool for chronic disease prevention, healthcare professionals will develop strategic health awareness programs that fit the socio-demographics of the population they serve. This article explored the significant role health awareness occupies in individual and community health prevention through health promotion and education. It reviewed the concept and dimensions of chronic disease prevention, cultural beliefs and impact on chronic diseases, gaps created by low health literacy, and the significance of health literacy in disease prevention and health promotion. Furthermore, it recommends that health systems and local communities form partnerships to address common and emerging health problems, and health systems should be properly funded.

Child Neurodevelopment on Mars

This review article aims to gather differences and similarities between planet Mars and planet Earth to determine the necessities for the proper growth and development of the neonatal brain. Factors such as Environmental, Nutritional, Social, Stress, and Education are juxtaposed to understand the difference between pediatric neurodevelopment on both planets. The variation between each factor was analyzed to determine how significant the impact is on neurodevelopment for children. The factors to be discussed were generated based on extensive research on what is most important for proper early neurodevelopment. The five factors are the main categories branched out into subcategories to delve into more detail regarding neurodevelopment. Factors may vary based on the location on each planet, but the best average was cultivated to create a fair evaluation of the differences. Although each factor influences a different part of the brain, each factor (Environmental, Nutritional, Social, Stress, and Education) is equally vital for development anatomy and physiology of the brain.

Analysis of Alignment Influence on 3-D Anthropometric Statistics

Three-dimensional （3-D） surface anthropometry can provide much more useful information for many applications such as ergonomic product design than traditional individual body dimension measurements. However, the traditional definition of the percentile calculation is designed only for 1-D anthropometric data estimates. The same approach cannot be applied directly to 3-D anthropometric statistics otherwise it could lead to misinterpretations. In this paper, the influence of alignment references on 3-D anthropometric statistics is analyzed mathematically, which shows that different alignment reference points （for example, landmarks） for translation alignment could result in different object shapes if 3-D anthropometric data are processed for percentile values based on coordinates and that dimension percentile calculations based on coordinate statistics are incompatible with those traditionally based on individual dimensions.

NEAR-INFRARED MONITORING OF THE LUMBAR ERECTOR SPINAE MUSCLE IN HEALTHY MEN AND WOMEN DURING STATIC AND DYNAMIC ENDURANCE WORK

Understanding muscle hemodynamics using near-infrared spectroscopy is increasingly evident in the recent spinal disorders-related ***,none of these human studies addressed the issue of physiological limits for the lumbar muscle within the same participants during various exercise *** purpose of this study is to evaluate physiological limits for the lumbar muscle during dynamic and static endurance *** three separate days,22 healthy men and women performed three endurance protocols(static prone trunk extension,arm cranking,and pushingpulling)until volitional *** each protocol,minimum and maximum oxygenation and blood volume responses from the right lumbar erector spinae were obtained using a continuous dual wavelength near-infrared spectroscopy(Micro-Runman,NIM Inc.,PA,USA).Statistical analysis showed that greatest reduction in oxygenation(minimum)were obtained during dynamic exercises:pushingpulling(2.1 times)and arm cranking(2.03 times)versus static test (P<0:05).Physiological change(calculated as the difference between maximum during recovery and minimum at the point of volitional exhaustion)during static test was lower[(66-75%for oxygenation)and(34-46%for blood volume)]than dynamic exercises (P<0:05).Contrary to the theory that sufficient occlusion of bloodflow to the lumbar muscle is possible with static trunk extension,it was concluded that a dynamic protocol until volitional exhaustion might be a good alternative in establishing near-infrared spectroscopy-derived physiological limits to the lumbar *** research is essential to identify an optimal calibration procedure for establishing true hypoxic values for the human lumbar muscle.

Analysis of Childhood Obesity in Alabama and Delaware: A Cohort Study

Objective: The objective is to evaluate data sets for children aged 24 to 59 months that identified the risk factors of being obese and overweight and compare it between two U.S. states (Alabama and Delaware). Methods: An analysis of survey data sets published between 2013 and 2017, comparing the factors of obesity and its prevalence amongst different races of 50,760 children aged 24 to 59 months in the U.S., was conducted using Microsoft Excel 2016 and IBM SPSS version 1.0.0. Results: Hispanic children have the highest rate of obesity in the U.S compared to all other races. Children aged 2 - 4 years old from Alabama were more at risk for being overweight and obese compared to those from Delaware. Those between the ages of 48 - 59 months of age were more at risk than the other age groups. Conclusions: Childhood obesity is a predisposing factor for adult obesity. There is a need to identify the risk factors of obesity early in a person’s life and address them appropriately.

High MRSA Carriage Rate among Nursing Microbiology Students

Staphylococcus aureus is a common cause of disease, particularly in colonized persons. Although methicillin-resistant S. aureus (MRSA) infections have become increasingly reported, population- based studies of students preparing for the health professions having S. aureus and MRSA colonization are lacking. We have found that students in microbiology classes having more contact with individuals in a healthcare setting are more likely to carry MRSA in their nares and axilla. The classes who had the highest rate of MRSA carriage during the school year, 2013-2014, were those with nursing students, who had a greater exposure to clinical settings and nursing homes. The class which had the highest rate of S. aureus carriage, had nearly 50% of the infected students had been involved a clinical setting. Since the majority of the students in the nursing and biology courses are looking to pursue a career in medicine, this sampling was very beneficial to inform them and others if they were a carrier of S. aureus and MRSA and the preventative measures to reduce the risk of infection.

A Proposed Exercise to Reinforce Abstract Thinking for Upper-Division Computer and Electrical Engineering Students: Modeling a High-Speed Inverter Using Cognitive Representations and Abstract Algebra

In mathematics, physics, and engineering, abstract concepts are an indispensable foundation for the study and comprehension of concrete models. As concepts within these fields become increasingly detached from physical entities and more associated with mental events, thinking shifts from analytical to conceptual-abstract. Fundamental topics taken from the abstract algebra (aka: modern algebra) are unquestionably abstract. Historically, fundamental concepts taught from the abstract algebra are detached from physical reality with one exception: Boolean operations. Even so, many abstract algebra texts present Boolean operations from a purely mathematical operator perspective that is detached from physical entities. Some texts on the abstract algebra introduce logic gate circuits, but treat them as perceptual symbols. For majors of pure or applied mathematics, detachments from physical entities is not relevant. For students of Computer and Electrical Engineering (CpE/EE), mental associations of Boolean operations are essential, and one might argue that studying pure Boolean axioms are unnecessary mental abstractions. But by its nature, the CpE/EE field tends to be more mentally abstract than the other engineering disciplines. The depth of the mathematical abstractions that we teach to upper-division CpE/EE majors is certainly up for questioning.
