Traditional international trade theories seldom consider the pursuit of power as maintaining and enlarging a country's relative strength in the process of interstate ***,in the context of great power competition,the importance of power in the trade between advanced and latecomer countries has become more *** this situation,we can establish a tractable and generalized international economic political framework for analyzing great power competition by introducing the power factor into classic two-country trade theory,treating the absolute welfare and relative welfare emphasized by economics and political science respectively as actors'dual objectives,and making use of game theory *** can be found that in a two-country game composed of an advanced and a latecomer country,the latter will prefer a strategy of"enhancing its own strength and rectifying its own weak points,"while the former will favor a strategy that""worsens the other's weak points and enhances the other's strengths."Once the technological gap that determines comparative advantage narrows,the advanced country will tend to totally suppress the latecomer and even"decouple"from it.

In the world today, regional conflicts and turbulence are frequent and escalating. A new wave of technological revolution and industrial transformation is rapidly advancing, bringing with it risks, challenges and strategic opportunities. While human civilization makes significant progress, insecurity, instability, and uncertainty are also on the *** response, the Third Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China(CPC), held in July 2024, made it clear that opening-up is a defining feature of Chinese modernization, and that we must remain committed to the basic state policy of opening to the outside world and continue to promote reform through opening-up.

In this study, we expanded upon the current benchmark model of external adjustment and dissected the concept of international financial adjustment into two distinct components: valuation effect and investment income. Our enhanced model, which we refer to as “tri-channel model,” incorporates three key elements: trade balance, valuation effect, and investment income. Using a consolidated quarterly dataset that encompassed China's balance of payments and international investment positions from 1998 to 2020, we estimated the relative importance of the three newly introduced adjustment channels to China's cyclical external imbalance. We found that the trade balance channel played a major role, accounting for approximately 76 percent of cyclical external adjustment. The contribution of the investment income channel to cyclical external adjustment (21 percent) was much greater than that of the valuation effect channel (3 percent). These findings imply that policy responses to the cyclical external imbalance in China should focus more on the trade balance and investment incomes channels rather than exploiting the valuation effects.

Composite index is always derived with the weighted aggregation of hierarchical components,which is widely utilized to distill intricate and multidimensional matters in economic and business ***,the composite indices always present inevitable anomalies at different levels oriented from the calculation and expression processes of hierarchical components,thereby impairing the precise depiction of specific economic *** this paper,we propose VisCI,a visualization framework for anomaly detection and interactive optimization of composite ***,LSTM-AE model is performed to detect anomalies from the lower level to the higher level of the composite ***,a comprehensive array of visual cues is designed to visualize anomalies,such as hierarchy and anomaly *** addition,an interactive operation is provided to ensure accurate and efficient index optimization,mitigating the adverse impact of anomalies on index calculation and ***,we implement a visualization framework with interactive interfaces,facilitating both anomaly detection and intuitive composite index *** studies based on real-world datasets and expert interviews are conducted to demonstrate the effectiveness of our VisCI in commodity index anomaly exploration and anomaly optimization.

Production Chain Length and PPI-CPI Divergence:Analysis Based on the Global Input-output Price Model

Productivity and international energy price shocks are reflected in PPI and CPI via industrial ***’s in-depth participation into the global value chains has increasingly lengthened its industrial production *** question is how the changing length of production chains will affect CPI and PPI,as well as CPI-PPI correlation?By constructing a global input-output price model,this paper offers a theoretical discussion on the impact of production chain length on the CPI-PPI *** findings suggest that the price shock of international bulk commodities has a greater impact on China’s PPI than that on *** effects on both China’s PPI and CPI estimated by using the single-country input-output model are higher than the results estimated with the global input-output ***,the difference between CPI and PPI variations estimated with the global input-output model is greater than the result estimated with the single-country input-output model,which supports the view that the lengthening of production chains,especially international production chains,leads to a divergence between CPI and *** results based on cross-national panel data also suggest that the lengthening of production chains has reduced the CPI-PPI correlation for countries,*** lengthening of production chains has increased the PPI-CPI *** is to say,policymakers should target not just CPI in maintaining price stability,but instead focus on the stability of both PPI and *** can be made to proactively adjust the price index system,and formulate the industrial chain price index.

Data on discrete,isolated attributes of the marine economy are often used in traditional marine economic ***,as the focus of urban research shifts from internal static attributes to external dynamic linkages,the importance of marine economic net-work research is beginning to *** construction of the marine economic network in China’s coastal areas is necessary to change the flow of land and sea resources and optimize regional marine economic *** data from headquarters and branches of sea-related A-share listed enterprises to construct the marine economic network in China,we use social network analysis(SNA)to discuss the characteristics of its evolution as of 2010,2015,and 2020 and its *** following results were obtained.1)In terms of topological characteristics,the scale of the marine economic network in China’s coastal areas has accelerated and expan-ded,and the connections have become increasingly close;thus,this development has complex network characteristics.2)In terms of spatial structure,the intensity of the connection fluctuates and does not form stable development support;the group structure gradually becomes clear,but the overall pattern is fragmented;there are spatial differences in marine economic agglomeration radiation;the radi-ation effect of the eastern marine economic circle is obvious;and the polarization effect of northern and southern marine economic circles is *** this basis,we construct a framework for the governance of a marine economic network with the market,the government,and industry as the three governing *** clarifying the driving factors and building objectives of marine economic network construction,this study aims to foster the high-quality development of China’s marine economy.
