On October 10,2020,3 cases of coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)were detected via routine preadmission nucleic acid screening of inpatients and their visitors at Qingdao Central *** 3 cases were all related to the Qingdao Chest *** additional 9 cases were discovered and confirmed through tracing and testing contacts of the 3 initial *** isolates from all 12 cases were found to have high degrees of genetic homology with the viral isolate from a dockworker at Qingdao Port,referred to as Patient A in this report.A joint investigation team was formed to determine the source of infection and the scale of the outbreak,and to prevent further spread of the virus.

Background:It is estimated that there are about 74,000 primary multidrug-resistant tuberculosis(MDR-TB)patients per year according to the prevalence of MDR-TB of 5.7%among new TB patients in ***,the risks of primary transmission of MDR-TB require further *** study aimed to identify the factors associated with primary transmission of MDR-TB in Henan province,where the number of new TB patients is ranked second highest in ***:A 1:1 matched case–control study was conducted in Henan,*** were primary MDR-TB patients who were individually matched with a healthy control without TB from the same *** study was conducted from July 2013 to June *** case and control were matched by age(±5 years)and *** logistic regression was used to compute adjusted odds ratios(AORs)with corresponding 95%confidence intervals(CIs)for risk factors associated with primary ***:For the study,146 pairs of participants were *** final multivariable logistic regression model disclosed that after adjusting for age and sex,primary MDR-TB cases were more likely to be single(AOR,5.4;95%CI,1.4–20.7),earn an annual income of≤12,000 yuan(RMB)(AOR,9.9;95%CI,2.0–48.1),experience more life pressure/stress(AOR,10.8;95%CI,2.8–41.5),not be medically insured(AOR,50.1;95%CI,8.2–306.8),and suffer from diabetes,cardiovascular disease or other respiratory diseases,or cancer(AOR,57.1;95%CI,8.6–424.2).Conclusions:In order to control primary transmission of MDR-TB in China,we recommend that improving the social support,living standards and medical security of the lower social class become a priority.

Pathogens like bacteria and protozoa,which affect human and animal health worldwide,can be transmitted by vectors like *** investigate the epidemiology and genetic diversity of bacteria and protozoans carried by ticks in Chengmai county of Hainan province,China,285 adult hard ticks belonging to two species[Rhipicephalus sanguineus(sensu lato):183,64.21%and Rhipicephalus microplus:102,35.79%]from dogs,cattle,and goats were *** families were identified in these ticks by amplifying the 18 S r RNA,16 S r RNA(rrs),citrate synthase(glt A),and heat shock protein(gro EL)*** data revealed the presence of four recognized species and two Candidatus *** Anaplasmataceae and *** sum,these data reveal an extensive diversity of Anaplasmataceae bacteria,Coxiellaceae bacteria,Babesiidae,and Hepatozoidae in ticks from Hainan Island,highlighting the need to understand the tickborne pathogen infection in local animals and humans.

Background:It is of great challenge to raise the public coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)related health literacy(CRHL)in impoverished regions due to the limits of poor infrastructure,large proportion of vulnerable groups,***,those limits cannot be solved in the short ***,this study chose liangshan Yi Autonomous prefecture,one of the poorest areas in China,as a pilot,to reveal the quantitative relationships among diferent dimensions under the COVID-19 health education framework,clarify the key points for health promotion,and provide specifc suggestions for COVID-19 health education strategy in impoverished ***:A cross-sectional questionnaire survey was conducted in fve regions of liangshan Yi Autonomous prefecture in *** were 2,100 individuals sampled by multi-stage *** survey mainly measured the four dimensions:CRHL,COVID-19 related tense psychological reactions(CRTPR),COVID-19 related information report acquisition(CRIRA),and general health literacy(GHL).The multivariate logistic regression was used to explore the infuence of demographic characteristics on each ***,to quantify the relationships among different dimensions,this study employed the structural equation model(SEM),and analyzed the mediating efects of CRHL and CRIRA as well as the moderating efects of regional characteristic ***:The CRHL played an important role in promoting COVID-19 health education,reaching 52.5%in liangshan Yi Autonomous *** GHL(β=0.336)and age(β=0.136)had statistically positive impacts on *** CRHL afected CRTPR negatively(β=−0.198)and CRIRA positively(β=0.052).The CRHL played signifcant mediating roles among the four dimensions(Pprevention and control as well as the ethnicity moderated not only the relationships between CRHL and other dimensions,but also the mediating efect of CRHL(P<0.05).People with lower income and education levels had lower GHL(β=0.286,1

In Garze Tibetan autonomous prefecture inSichuan province, China, 41 echinococciasis patientswho had received surgical treatment were recruitedin the study, and 82 health persons who had livedin Garze for at least 10 years were selected ascontrols. The serum levels of Zn, Se and Cu of thecases and controls were detected. The resultsshowed that most echinococciasis cases weredistributed in Shiqu county （17.1%, 7/41）, and only1 case was distributed in Yajiang county （2.4%）. Themale to female ratio of the cases was 1：1.56. Theechinococciasis patients were mainly aged 30-39years （36.59%, 15/41）. And, the cases aged 20-49years accounted for 68.29% （28/41）. Comparedwith health controls, the serum levels of Zn and Seof the cases significantly declined. However, theserum level of Cu of the cases had no significantlychange. It was confirmed that the serum levels ofZn and Se were interrelated with the prevalence ofechinococciasis.

Background:Echinococcosis is a parasitic zoonosis caused by Echinococcus larvae parasitism causing high *** Tibetan Region of Sichuan Province is a high prevalence area for echinococcosis in *** the geographic distribution pattern is necessary for precise control and *** this study,a spatial analysis was conducted to explore the town-level epidemiology of echinococcosis in the Sichuan Tibetan Region and to provide guidance for formulating regional prevention and control ***:The study was based on reported echinococcosis cases by the end of 2017,and each case was geo-coded at the town *** empirical Bayes smoothing and global spatial autocorrelation were used to detect the spatial distribution *** scan statistics were applied to examine local ***:The spatial distribution of echinococcosis in the Sichuan Tibetan Region was mapped at the town level in terms of the crude prevalence rate,excess hazard and spatial smoothed prevalence *** spatial distribution of echinococcosis was non-random and clustered with the significant global spatial autocorrelation(I=0.7301,P=0.001).Additionally,five significant spatial clusters were detected through the spatial scan ***:There was evidence for the existence of significant echinococcosis clusters in the Tibetan Region of Sichuan Province,*** results of this study may assist local health departments with developing better prevention strategies and prompt more efficient public health interventions.
