Ulcerative colitis(UC)is a recurrent inflammatory bowel disease that imposes a severe burden on families and *** recent years,exploiting the potential of marine bioactive peptides for the treatment of diseases has become a topic of intense research *** study revealed the mechanism underlying the protective effect of the dominant polypeptide PKKVV(Pro-Lys-Lys-Val-Val)of Rhopilema esculentum cnidoblasts against DSS-induced UC through a combined analysis of the metagenome and serum ***,the polypeptide composition of *** cnidoblasts was determined by matrix-assisted laser desorption ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry(MALDI-TOF/TOF-MS).Molecular docking showed that the dominant peptide PKKVV could bind better with tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α)than the original *** animal experiments suggested that PKKVV could modulate disorganized gut microorganisms in mice with UC;affect serum metabolites through the arachidonic acid,glycerophospholipid and linoleic acid metabolism pathways;and further alleviate UC *** study provides a reference for the comprehensive development of marine bioactive substances and nonpharmaceutical treatments for UC.

The precise measurement of Al, Mg, Ca, and Zn composition in copper slag is crucial for effective process control of copper pyrometallurgy. In this study, a remote laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy(LIBS) system was utilized for the spectral analysis of copper slag samples at a distance of 2.5 m. The composition of copper slag was then analyzed using both the calibration curve(CC) method and the partial least squares regression(PLSR) analysis method based on the characteristic spectral intensity ratio. The performance of the two analysis methods was gauged through the determination coefficient(R^(2)), average relative error(ARE), root mean square error of calibration(RMSEC), and root mean square error of prediction(RMSEP). The results demonstrate that the PLSR method significantly improved both R^(2) for the calibration and test sets while reducing ARE, RMSEC, and RMSEP by 50% compared to the CC method. The results suggest that the combination of LIBS and PLSR is a viable approach for effectively detecting the elemental concentration in copper slag and holds potential for online detection of the elemental composition of high-temperature molten copper slag.

Single particle aerosol mass spectrometry can effectively analyze the chemical composition of metals, organic and inorganic in individual particles[1～4]. However, due to the limitation of mass spectrometry resolution and the influence of laser ionization, the identification of metal ion peaks by single particle mass spectrometry is often greatly affected by the peak of organic matter fragments of the same mass. For example, the peaks of mass-to-charge ratios 51 and 67 are often used as vanadium-containing features, whereas C H with the same mass-to-charge ratio of 51 interferes with the identification of V+, leading to uncertainty in the results. In this study, a high-performance single-particle mass spectrometer(HP-SPAMS) was used. The instrument combined with bipolar pulse delay extraction and high dynamic range data acquisition technology greatly improved the resolution and sensitivity of the instrument and effectively distinguished C H and V. Through the analysis of six kinds of vanadium-containing particles(V, Ve, VC, VC, VCOC, VEC) in the atmosphere of the Patio Mountain in Shaoguan, it is shown that HP-SPAMS can accurately identify almost all vanadium-containing particles, including the influence of organic matter fragments. VCOC, VC and other particles. This method not only improves the recognition accuracy of vanadium-containing particles, but also helps to distinguish the source of some organic substances.

Decomposition mass loss and pyrolysis products analyses of particles sampled at various locations along the tailpipe of a Euro-IV diesel engine were performed using a thermo gravimetry in conjunction with Fourier transformation infrared spectrometrymass *** particles were collected at the same location with and without diesel oxidation catalyst(DOC)mounted on the test engine *** three poles in thermal gravity-differential thermal gravity images suggested that the decomposition process of diesel particles could be divided into three stages which correspond to the decompositions of lower boiling substances,higher boiling substances and soot *** is noticed that no matter whether DOC was mounted or not,the further the particles were sampled away from the engine block,the lower the peak temperatures and the heavier the mass losses within the first two stages,which indicated that the soluble organic fraction in the particle samples increased and therefore lowering the activation energy of thermal ***,ammonia,C_xH_y fragments,benzene,toluene,and phenol were found to be the primary products of particle decomposition,which didn’t change with the location of particle sample *** employment of DOC increased the activation energy for particle oxidation and resulted in a higher peak temperature and lower mass loss within the ***,the C=O stretching bands of aldehyde and ketone at 1771 cm-1 was only detected without a DOC,while the N02 peak at 1634 cm-1 was solely noticed with the presence of *** to the first-stage pyrolysis products,more polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons and less C_xH_y fragments were seen in the second-stage.

OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the effect of compound Gaoziban tablet(复方高滋斑片, CGZBT) on depression, and to investigate the underlying mechanism. METHODS: The components of CGZBT were analysed by high-performance liquid chromatography. Then, we assessed the effects of varying doses of CGZBT on an established chronic unpredictable mild stress(CUMS) model in rats. Whether animals were depressed was evaluated by sucrose preference test, open field test and forced swimming test. Neurotransmitters of hippocampus were detected by liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry. Serum levels of tumor necrosis factor-alpha(TNF-α), interleukin(IL)-1β, IL-6, IL-4, and IL-10 were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Expressions of toll-like receptor 4(TLR4), myeloid differentiation factor 88(My D88), phospho-nuclear factorkappa B(p-NF-κB), cyclooxygenase-2(COX-2), ionized calcium binding adapter molecule-1(IBA-1) were assessed by immunohistochemical staining and western blotting. RESULTS: Eight compounds were identified from CGZBT, moreover, our results showed that CGZBT effectively reversed the CUMS-induced decrease in sucrose preference, shortened the movement distance and prolonged immobility time. CGZBT significantly increased levels of 5-hydroxytryptamine, dopamine, norepinephrine, 5-hydroxyindoleacetic acid levels, and reduced the expression of TNF-α, IL-1β, IL-6, yet increased IL-4 and IL-10. Furthermore, the expressions of TLR4, My D88, COX-2, p-NF-κB and IBA-1 in hippocampus were effectively reversed after treatment with CGZBT. CONCLUSIONS: These results indicated that CGZBT could, at least in part, alleviate depression induced by CUMS via the TLR4/My D88/NF-κB pathway, suggesting its potential as an antidepressant drug.

In recent years, the research on pipeline laser-arc hybrid welding technology has been the important and difficult in the field of welding all over the world. China Petroleum Pipeline Research Institute Co. ltd. has firstly developed pipeline laser-arc hybrid welding system in China, and executed the welding tests based on X70/X80 steel. Preliminary experiment results showed that hybrid welding could meet the requirements of related standards such as API1104,ASME,etc., the mechanical properties of girth seam are qualified in the case that there were no internal defects. With the development of high-power fiber laser and the continuous improvement of welding equipment, laser-arc hybrid welding technology for pipeline field welding will be available soon.

Antimicrobial peptides(AMPs)have recently been exploited to fabricate anti-infective medical devices due to their biocompatibility and ability to combat multidrug-resistant *** medical devices should be thoroughly sterilised before use to avoid cross-infection and disease transmission,consequently it is essential to evaluate whether AMPs withstand the sterilisation process or *** this study,the effect of radiation sterilisation on the structure and properties of AMPs was *** AMPs formed from different monomers with different topologies were synthesised by ring-opening polymerisation of *** results of solubility testing showed that the star-shaped AMPs changed from water-soluble to water-insoluble after irradiation,while the solubility of linear AMPs remained ***-assisted laser desorption/ionisation time of flight mass spectrometry showed that the molecular weight of the linear AMPs underwent minimal changes after *** results of minimum inhibitory concentration assay also illustrated that radiation sterilisation had little effect on the antibacterial properties of the linear ***,radiation sterilisation may be a feasible method for the sterilisation of AMPs,which have promising commercial applications in medical devices.
