Studying the influence of shale gas exploration and development on groundwater environment is the basis of guiding water environment protection in the process of shale gas exploration and *** environmental pollution is concealed,complex and *** it is difficult to control the pollution,the current commercial shale gas development zones in Sichuan Basin that are mostly located in karst areas and highly sensitive to groundwater will be vulnerable to the impact of shale gas exploration and *** on the hydrogeological conditions of shale gas exploration and development area and combined with engineering analysis of exploration and development,various risk pathways that may affect the groundwater environment during process of shale gas exploration,mining well construction,mining operations and other stages were identified in this *** existing risk pathways were proved by verification of typical areas and should not be *** on the actual situation of typical areas,the countermeasures of groundwater environmental protection in the process of shale gas exploration and development in karst areas were *** is believed that the groundwater environment can be better protected by strengthening administration,research and application of new technologies,precise design,hydrogeological conditions,and research and feedback of groundwater environmental protection.

APPLICATION OF WRF/UCM IN THE SIMULATION OF A HEAT WAVE EVENT AND URBAN HEAT ISLAND AROUND GUANGZHOU

This paper evaluated the performance of a coupled modeling system,Weather Research and Forecasting(WRF)/Urban Canopy Model(UCM),in the simulation of a heat wave event which occurred around Guangzhou during late June through early July,*** from three experiments reveal that the UCM with new land data(hereafter referred to as E-UCM)reproduces the best 2-m temperature evolution and the smallest minimum absolute average error as compared with the other two experiments,the BPA-Bulk Parameterization Approach with new land data(E-BPA)and the UCM with original U.S. geological survey land data(E-NOU).The E-UCM is more useful in capturing the temporal and spatial distribution of the nighttime Urban Heat Island(UHI).Differences in surface energy balance between the urban and suburban areas show that low daytime albedo causes more absorption of solar radiation by urban *** to the lack of vegetation which inhibits cooling by evapotranspiration,most of the incoming energy over urban areas is partitioned into sensible heat flux and therefore heats the surface and enhances the heat *** nighttime,the energy in the urban area is mainly from soil heat *** some energy is partitioned as outgoing long wave radiation,most of the soil heat flux is partitioned into sensible heat flux due to the small latent heat flux at *** leads to the development of nighttime UHI and the increase of the magnitude and duration of heat waves within the municipality.

Landsat 8 Oli,ASTER,and Sentinel 2A satellite images processing was used to map geological formations,lineaments and hydrothermal alteration minerals in the Aouli inlier,as a case study to illustrate the application of digital images processing and Geographic Information System(GIS)in geological mapping and mining *** Component Analysis(PCA)applied to the Landsat images allowed good lithological discrimination and contributed to the updating of available geological *** Automatic lineament extraction from Sentinel images revealed the main tectonic structures affecting Aouli *** ratio bands(b5+b7)/b6 and the false color composite(b4/b6,b2/b1,b3/b2)allowed the hydrothermal alteration minerals mapping from Aster *** with available geological data and field observations,the satellite derived data were integrated and analyzed in a GIS software to establish mining prospecting *** results showed that the anomaly zones are intimately linked to NNE-SSW and NW-SE oriented faults and to highly fractured areas developing argillic and Fe rich *** via field survey,this approach was successfully applied to the Aouli inlier to rapidly target potential areas to be explored in the tactical *** provides a model for future prospecting efforts for similar mineral deposits in other areas.

Evolution of the East china Sea sedimentary environment in the past 14 kyr: Insights from tetraethers-based proxies

We reconstruct the environmental evolution of the East china Sea in the past 14 kyr based on glycerol dialkyl glycerol tetraethers(GDGTs) in a sediment core from the subaqueous Yangtze River Delta. Two primary phases are recognized. Phase I(13.8–8 cal kyr BP) reflects a predominantly continental influence, showing distinctly higher concentrations of branched GDGTs(averaged 143 ng/g dry sediment weight, dsw) than isoprenoid GDGTs(averaged 36 ng/g dsw), high BIT index(branched vs. isoprenoid tetraethers) values(>0.78) and a fluctuating GDGT-0/crenarchaeol ratio(R_(0/5), varied from 0.52 to 3.81). Within this interval, temporal increases of terrestrial and marine influence are attributed to Younger Dryas(YD)(ca. 12.9–12.2 cal kyr BP) cold event and melt-water pulse(MWP)-1B(11.5–11.1 cal kyr BP), respectively. The prominent transition from 8 to 7.9 cal kyr BP shows a sharp decrease in BIT index value(<0.4) and increase in crenarchaeol, which marks the beginning of phase II. Afterwards, the proxies remain relatively constant, which indicates that phase II(7.9 cal kyr BP-present) is a shelf sedimentary environment with high stand of sea level. Overall, the BIT index in our record serves as a good marker for terrestrial influence at the site, and likely reflects the flooding history of the region. The TEX_(86)(Tetra Ether Index of tetraethers consisting of 86 carbons) proxy is not applicable in phase I because of an excess terrestrial influence; but it seems to be valid for revealing the annual SST in phase II(21.6±0.9°C, n=49). In contrast, the MBT'/CBT(Methylation of Branched Tetraethers and Cyclization of Branched Tetraethers) proxy appears to faithfully record the annual mean air temperature(MAT)(14.3±0.63°C, n=68) and presents an integrated signal over the middle and lower Yangtze River drainage basin.

Interaction Mechanism between Formation Process of Bank Collapse Disaster Chain and Territorial Space Utilization of Large Reservoirs

Number of reservoirs in china ranks the first in the world. Due to the complex geology, and superimposing rainfall and reservoir water fluctuation, the bank collapse chain is prone to disasters. The Yangtze River Reservoir is key geological disaster prevention area. Studying the process of reservoir disaster is significant because of the limited territorial space utilization. Scientific and technological issues, i.e., the mechanism of bank collapse disaster chain of large reservoirs, the interaction mechanism of bank collapse disaster chain and territorial space utilization, the early identification, monitoring technology and ecological prevention and control technology system of disaster chain, and the territorial space geological safety and control technology system are focused. We consider the material transformation, energy transfer and information transmission in disaster chain;adopt the survey, Space-Air-Ground integrated monitoring, theoretical analysis, numerical simulation and the multidisciplinary research methods;reveal the chain source development, evolution process of secondary and derivative disasters;explore the interaction mechanism of disaster chain and territorial space utilization;construct the system of early identification, monitoring, early warning, control and ecological preven-tion to achieve Emission Peak and Carbon Neutrality;provide theoretical and technical support for the territorial space geological safety, regulation and utilization of large reservoirs.

Paleosalinity in the Tianluoshan site and the correlation between the Hemudu culture and its environmental background

Paleosalinity records of the Tianluoshan site are derived from measurations data of clay mineral, boron, strontium, barium, after field sampling in three profiles of the Tianluoshan site. The relative sea level changes are discussed according to the lab results. The record indicates that the region where the Tianluoshan site located has witnessed at least three times of relative sea level high-stand before, during and after the Hemudu period. Based on previous researches, this paper also focuses on discussing several environmental elements, the inter-relationships between environmental condition, human activities and development of the Hemudu culture comprehensively.

The Yarltmg Zangbo Suture Zone （YZSZ） to the west of Saga is divided into two sub-belts, namely the south sub- belt and the north sub-belt. The Saga ophiolite is mainly composed of peridotites, gabbro, diabase and lava. In this paper, we report a suite of alkaline basalt to the south of the Saga ophiolite, which extends NWW along an outcrop 1-3 km in width.

Large ripples are described from the Mesoproterozoic Hilfordy Formation in the Kimberley region,northwestern *** ripple index(Rl) and ripple symmetry index (RSI) suggest the Kimberley ripples were likely generated by storm *** wave height is up to 15-23 cm and wave length is up to 70-90 *** features,incorporated with other morphological characteristics such as symmetry,steepness,ripple spacing,and compositions,agree well with the megaripples previously reported from the intertidal-nearshore settings of modern seas and the geological *** Mesoproterozoic ripples were likely generated by the storm-induced *** survey of the global record of megaripples reveals that such structures have occurred through the geological past from the Archean to present day. They were particularly common in the Neoproterozoic and had the largest ripple length and ripple height among the modern and geological *** is probably because extreme storms prevailed at that *** frequent occurrence in present day beach is probably due to the prevalence of extreme storms caused by the monsoon or tsunami/earthquake influenced climatic regimes.
