In situ polymerization of poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene)protective layer towards stable zinc anode

Aqueous zinc-ion devices are considered promising candidates for energy storage due to their high safety,low cost and relatively high energy ***,the dendrite growth,hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)and corrosion of the zinc anode significantly limit the development of Zn-ion ***,an inexpensive poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene)(PEDOT)protective layer was constructed in situ on the Zn surface using electropolymerization to suppress dendrite growth and side reactions,thereby enhancing the reversibility of *** and theoretical calculations revealed that this hydrophilic protective layer promotes the desolvation process of hydrated Zn^(2+)and facilitates the transport of zinc ions,thus improving the thermodynamic and kinetic properties of Zn^(2+)deposition and inhibiting interfacial side ***,the optimized PEDOT@Zn symmetric battery exhibited a cycling stability exceeding 1250 h at 0.5 mA·cm^(-2)and 0.25 mAh·cm^(-2),with a significantly reduced overpotential(from 91.8 to 35 mV).With the assistance of the PEDOT protective layer,the PEDOT@Zn//Cu battery maintained approximately 99.5%Coulombic efficiency after 450 ***-situ scanning electron microscopy(SEM)and in situ optical microscopy characterizations further confirmed that the PEDOT protective layer can effectively suppress the growth of zinc ***,the Zn-ion capacitors assembled by the PEDOT@Zn and activated carbon also demonstrated outstanding cycling stability.

Boosting Oxygen Evolution Reaction Performance on NiFe‑Based Catalysts Through d‑Orbital Hybridization

Anion-exchange membrane water electrolyzers(AEMWEs)for green hydrogen production have received intensive attention due to their feasibility of using earth-abundant NiFe-based *** introducing a third metal into NiFe-based catalysts to construct asymmetrical M-NiFe units,the d-orbital and electronic structures can be adjusted,which is an important strategy to achieve sufficient oxygen evolution reaction(OER)performance in ***,the ternary NiFeM(M:La,Mo)catalysts featured with distinct M-NiFe units and varying d-orbitals are reported in this *** and theoretical calculation results reveal that the doping of La leads to optimized hybridization between d orbital in NiFeM and 2p in oxygen,resulting in enhanced adsorption strength of oxygen intermediates,and reduced rate-determining step energy barrier,which is responsible for the enhanced OER *** critically,the obtained NiFeLa catalyst only requires 1.58 V to reach 1 A cm^(−2) in an anion exchange membrane electrolyzer and demonstrates excellent long-term stability of up to 600 h.

Photo‑Energized MoS_(2)/CNT Cathode for High‑Performance Li–CO_(2)Batteries in a Wide‑Temperature Range

Li–CO_(2) batteries are considered promising energy storage systems in extreme environments such as Mars;however,severe performance degradation will occur at a subzero temperature owning to the sluggish reaction ***,a photo-energized strategy adopting sustainable solar energy in wide working temperature range Li–CO_(2) battery was achieved with a binder-free MoS_(2)/carbon nanotube(CNT)photo-electrode as *** unique layered structure and excellent photoelectric properties of MoS_(2) facilitate the abundant generation and rapid transfer of photo-excited carriers,which accelerate the CO_(2) reduction and Li_(2)CO_(3) decomposition upon *** illuminated battery at room temperature exhibited high discharge voltage of 2.95 V and mitigated charge voltage of 3.27 V,attaining superior energy efficiency of 90.2%and excellent cycling stability of over 120 *** at an extremely low temperature of−30℃,the battery with same electrolyte can still deliver a small polarization of 0.45 V by the photoelectric and photothermal synergistic mechanism of MoS_(2)/CNT *** work demonstrates the promising potential of the photo-energized wide working temperature range Li–CO_(2) battery in addressing the obstacle of charge overpotential and energy efficiency.

Construction of 3D porous Cu_(1.81)S/nitrogen-doped carbon frameworks for ultrafast and long-cycle life sodium-ion storage

Transition metal sulfides have great potential as anode mterials for sodium-ion batteries(SIBs)due to their high theoretical specific ***,the inferior intrinsic conductivity and large volume variation during sodiation-desodiation processes seriously affect its high-rate and long-cyde performance,unbeneficial for the application as fast-charging and long-cycling SIBs ***,the three-dimensional porous Cu_(1.81)S/nitrogen-doped carbon frameworks(Cu_(1.81)S/NC)are synthesized by the simple and facile sol-gel and annealing processes,which can accommodate the volumetric expansion of Cu_(1.81)S nanoparticles and accelerate the transmission of ions and electrons during Na^(+)insertion/extraction processes,exhibiting the excellent rate capability(250.6 mA·g^(-1)at 20.0 A·g^(-1))and outstanding cycling stability(70% capacity retention for 6000 cycles at 10.0 A·g^(-1))for ***,the Na-ion full cells coupled with Na_(3)V_(2)(PO_(4))_(3)/C cathode also demonstrate the satisfactory reversible specific capacity of 330.5 mAh·g^(-1)at 5.0 A·g^(-1)and long-cycle performance with the 86.9% capacity retention at 2.0 A·g^(-1)after 750 *** work proposes a promising way for the conversionbased metal sulfides for the applications as fast-charging sodium-ion battery anode.

Synthesis,Structure,Photoluminescence and Photocatalytic Properties of a new Cd(Ⅱ)Metal-organic Framework Based on 1,4-Di(2,6-dimethyl-3,5-dicarboxypyridyl)benzene

A new 3D coordination polymer, [Cd2（L）（bpb）2]n（1, H4L = 1,4-di（2,6-dimethyl-3,5-dicarboxypyridyl） benzene, bpb = 1,4-bis（4-pyridyl） benzene, has been hydrothermally synthesized and characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis, elemental analysis, TGA, IR spectroscopy and UV-Vis spectrum. Complex 1 crystallizes in orthorhombic, space group C2221, with a = 10.9393（12）, b = 20.900（3）, c = 20.027（2） A, β = 90°, V = 4578.9（9） A^3, Dc = 41.668 Mg/cm^3, Mr = 1149.74, F（000） = 2312.0, μ = 0.996 mm^（–1）, Z = 4, the final R = 0.0316 and wR = 0.0786 for 4271 observed reflections with I 〉 2σ（I）. Structural analysis shows that 1 possesses a 3D network based on the 2D layer bridged by L^4-ligands, while the 2D layers are composed of the adjacent 1D chains joined by L^4-ligand. The photoluminescent investigation indicates that one broad emission band with the maximum of 445 nm can be observed in 1. Moreover, compound 1 has high photocatalytic degradation effects on methylene blue under UV irradiation.

Efficient and Stable Perovskite Solar Cells and Modules Enabled by Tailoring Additive Distribution According to the Film Growth Dynamics

Gas quenching and vacuum quenching process are widely applied to accelerate solvent volatilization to induce nucleation of perovskites in blade-coating *** this work,we found these two pre-crystallization processes lead to different order of crystallization dynamics within the perovskite thin film,resulting in the differences of additive *** then tailor-designed an additive molecule named 1,3-bis(4-methoxyphenyl)thiourea to obtain films with fewer defects and holes at the buried interface,and prepared perovskite solar cells with a certified efficiency of 23.75%.Furthermore,this work also demonstrates an efficiency of 20.18%for the large-area perovskite solar module(PSM)with an aperture area of 60.84 cm^(2).The PSM possesses remarkable continuous operation stability for maximum power point tracking of T_(90)>1000 h in ambient air.

Two Metal Ion-controlled Zn(Ⅱ)/Cd(Ⅱ) Coordination Polymers Based on 1,3,5-Benzenetricarboxylic Acid

Two new coordination polymers {[Zn（Hbtc）（bpyb）]·H2O}n（1） and {[Cd（Hbtc）-（bpyb）（1.5）]·0.5 bpyb}n（2）（H3btc = 1,3,5-benzenetricarboxylic acid, bpyb = 1,4-bis（4-pyridyl）benzene） have been synthesized under hydrothermal conditions. The two compounds were characterized by elemental analysis, IR spectroscopy, and X-ray single-crystal diffraction. Compound 1 displays a 2-fold interpenetrating 3D supramolecular architecture through O–H…N/O hydrogen bonds and π-π stacking interactions. Compound 2 exhibits a 2D→3D polycatenated structure, which is further stabilized by O–H…N hydrogen bonds. The results indicate that the metal ion has significant effects on the formation and structure of the resulted coordination polymers. Furthermore, thermal stability and photoluminescent properties of 1 and 2 are also discussed in detail.

One new coordination polymer（CP） [Cd（bct）（bib）]·2（H2O）（1）, based on 3,5-bis（4＇-carboxy-phenyl）-1,2,4-triazole（H2 bct） and 1,4-bis（imidazol-1-ylmethyl）benzene（bib）, has been synthesized by hydrothermal method, and its structure was determined and characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis, elemental analysis, IR spectroscopy, and thermogravimetric analysis. The crystal structure of CP 1 is a three-dimensional framework with（3,5）-connected topology, where the bct ligands adopt a μ3-kO,kO,kO coordination mode connecting with three Cd centers and the bib ligands adopt a μ2-k N,k N coordination mode bridging two Cd ions. It crystallizes in monoclinic system, space group C2/c, with a = 2.6838（4）, b = 1.24221（17）, c = 1.8011（2） nm, β = 102.939（2）o, V = 5.8522（13） nm^3, Z = 8, C30 H27 CdN7O6, Mr = 694.00, Dc = 1.566 g/cm^3, F（000） = 2784, S = 1.055, R = 0.0294 and wR = 0.0731. Furthermore, solid-state photoluminescence measurements show that CP 1 produces strong emissions at room temperature.

Investigations on Preparation,Crystal Structure and Thermal Stability of Bis(O-ethylcarbonodithiolato-S,S′)(1,10-phenanthroline-N^1,N^(10))cobalt(II) Complex:[Co(Et-XA)_2·phen]·H_2O (XA=xanthate)

[Co(Et XA) 2·phen]·H 2O was prepared by adding 1,10 phen^anthroline to the EtOH solution of bis( O ethylcarbo^no^di^thio^lato)cobalt(II) [Co(Et XA) 2]. The single crystal structure has been determined by X ray diffraction analysis. The compound is orthorhombic with space group Pna 2 1 and unit cell parameters a =1 0290(2) nm, b =1 4550(3) nm and c =1 4860(3) nm. The geometry of each Co atom which coordinates with four S atoms from two xanthate anions and two N atoms from phenanthroline ligand, is a distorted octahedron. The brown crystals were examined by elemental analysis, FT IR, UV spectra and thermogravimetric differential thermal analysis (TG DTA). Thermal decomposition of the compound takes place in several steps. In the first step, the compound releases 1,10 phenanthroline ligand, then loses the H 2O molecules. In the second step, the complex decomposes to CoS 3. The final product of thermal decomposition is CoS. Elemental analysis, IR and UV spectra are in agreement with the proposd structure.

Niobates are promising all-climate Li^(+)-storage anode material due to their fast charge transport,large specific capacities,and resistance to electrolyte ***,their moderate unit-cellvolume expansion(generally 5%–10%)during Li^(+)storage causes unsatisfactory long-term ***,“zero-strain”NiNb_(2)O_(6) fibers are explored as a new anode material with comprehensively good electrochemical *** Li^(+)storage,the expansion of electrochemical inactive NiO_(6) octahedra almost fully offsets the shrinkage of active NbO_(6) octahedra through reversible O *** superior volume-accommodation capability of the NiO_(6) layers guarantees the“zero-strain”behavior of NiNb_(2)O_(6) in a broad temperature range(0.53%//0.51%//0.74%at 25//−10//60℃),leading to the excellent cyclability of the NiNb_(2)O_(6) fibers(92.8%//99.2%//91.1%capacity retention after 1000//2000//1000 cycles at 10C and 25//−10//60℃).This NiNb_(2)O_(6) material further exhibits a large reversible capacity(300//184//318 mAh g−1 at 0.1C and 25//−10//60℃)and outstanding rate performance(10 to 0.5C capacity percentage of 64.3%//50.0%//65.4%at 25//−10//60℃).Therefore,the NiNb_(2)O_(6) fibers are especially suitable for large-capacity,fast-charging,long-life,and all-climate lithium-ion batteries.
