Polaron interfacial entropy as a route to high thermoelectric performance in DAE-doped PEDOT:PSS films

Enhancing the thermoelectric transport properties of conductive polymer materials has been a long-term challenge, in spite of the success seen with molecular doping strategies. However, the strong coupling between the thermopower and the electrical conductivity limits thermoelectric performance. Here, we use polaron interfacial occupied entropy engineering to break through this intercoupling for a PEDOT:PSS(poly（3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene）-poly（4-styrenesulfonate）) thin film by using photochromic diarylethene（DAE） dopants coupled with UV-light modulation. With a 10-fold enhancement of the thermopower from 13.5 μV K-1to 135.4 μV K-1and almost unchanged electrical conductivity, the DAE-doped PEDOT:PSS thin film achieved an extremely high power factor of 521.28 μW m-1K-2from an original value of 6.78 μW m-1K-2. The thermopower was positively correlated with the UV-light intensity but decreased with increasing temperature, indicating resonant coupling between the planar closed DAE molecule and PEDOT. Both the experiments and theoretical calculations consistently confirmed the formation of an interface state due to this resonant coupling. Interfacial entropy engineering of polarons could play a critical role in enhancing the thermoelectric performance of the organic film.

Risk-averse Robust Interval Economic Dispatch for Power Systems with Large-scale Wind Power Integration

This paper presents a robust interval economic dispatch(RIED)model for power systems with large-scale wind power *** from existing interval optimization(IO)approaches that merely rely on the upper and lower boundaries of random variables,the distribution information retained in the historical data is introduced to the IO method in this *** on the available probability distribution function(PDF),wind power curtailment and load shedding are quantified as the operational risk and incorporated into the decision-making *** this model,we need not rely on the forecasted value of wind power,which is randomly fluctuating and quite ***,when the PDFs of wind power are taken into account,the resulting dispatch solution makes a good tradeoff between the generation cost and the operational ***,the RIED model yields an optimal dispatch solution for thermal units and the allowable intervals of wind power for the wind farms,which efficiently mitigates the uncertainty in wind power generation and provides more practical suggestions for system *** studies are conducted on a modified IEEE-118 bus system and the results verify the effectiveness of the proposed RIED model.

The increasing trend for integrating renewable energy sources into the grid to achieve a cleaner energy system is one of the main reasons for the development of sustainable microgrid(MG)*** typical power-electronized power systems,MGs make extensive use of power electronics converters,which are highly controllable and flexible but lead to a profound impact on the dynamic performance of the whole *** with traditional large-capacity power systems,MGs are less resistant to perturbations,and various dynamic variables are coupled with each other on multiple timescales,resulting in a more complex system instability *** meet the technical and economic challenges,such as active and reactive power-sharing,voltage,and frequency deviations,and imbalances between power supply and demand,the concept of hierarchical control has been introduced into MGs,allowing systems to control and manage the high capacity of renewable energy sources and ***,as the capacity and scale of the MG system increase,along with a multi-timescale control loop design,the multi-timescale interactions in the system may become more significant,posing a serious threat to its safe and stable *** investigate the multi-timescale behaviors and instability mechanisms under dynamic inter-actions for AC MGs,existing coordinated control strategies are discussed,and the dynamic stability of the system is defined and classified in this ***,the modeling and assessment methods for the stability analysis of multi-timescale systems are also ***,an outlook and discussion of future research directions for AC MGs are also presented.

Discrete element modeling and parameter calibration of safflower biomechanical properties

Understanding the biomechanical properties of safflowers is essential for appropriately designing harvesting machinery and optimizing the harvesting *** is a flexible crop that lacks a basis for relevant simulation parameters,which causes difficulties in designing harvesting *** this study,a calibration method for safflowers was ***,a discrete element model was established by measuring the intrinsic parameters of a safflower,such as its geometric parameters,density,Poisson’s ratio,and modulus of ***,the contact and bonding parameters were calibrated using a combination of physical and simulation *** the contact parameter tests,the Hertz-Mindlin(no-slip)model was implemented for the stacking angle tests conducted regarding the safflower filament.A regular two-level factorial design was used to determine the important factors and perform the steepest climb ***,the Box-Behnken design was adopted to obtain the optimal contact *** the bonding parameter tests,the Hertz-Mindlin model with bonding contact was applied for the safflower shear simulation tests;moreover,the optimum bonding parameters were obtained through the central composite design *** results demonstrated that the relative errors between the simulated and measured stacking angles and maximum shear were 3.19%and 5.29%,*** a result,the safflower simulation parameters were accurately calibrated,providing a reference for appropriately setting the simulation parameters and designing key mechanical components.

The modeling and self-excited vibration mechanism in the magnetic levitation-collision interface coupling system are *** effects of the control and interface parameters on the system's stability are *** frequency range of self-excited vibrations is investigated from the energy point of *** phenomenon of self-excited vibrations is elaborated with the phase *** corresponding control strategies are briefly analyzed with respect to the vibration *** results show that when the levitation objects collide with the mechanical interface,the system's vibration frequency becomes larger with the decrease in the collision gap;when the vibration frequency exceeds the critical frequency,the electromagnetic system continues to provide energy to the system,and the collision interface continuously dissipates energy so that the system enters the self-excited vibration state.

Data-driven active vibration control for helicopter with trailing-edge flaps using adaptive dynamic programming

The helicopter Trailing-Edge Flaps(TEFs)technology is one of the recent hot topics in morphing wing *** employing controlled deflection,TEFs can effectively reduce the vibration level of ***,designing specific vibration reduction control methods for the helicopters equipped with trailing-edge flaps is of significant practical *** paper studies the optimal control problem for helicopter-vibration systems with TEFs under the framework of adaptive dynamic programming combined with Reinforcement Learning(RL).Time-delay and disturbances,caused by complexity of helicopter dynamics,inevitably deteriorate the control performance of vibration *** solve this problem,a zero-sum game formulation with a linear quadratic form for reducing vibration of helicopter systems is presented with a virtual *** this context,an off-policy reinforcement learning algorithm is developed to determine the optimal control *** algorithm utilizes only vertical vibration load data to achieve a policy that reduces vibration,attains Nash equilibrium,and addresses disturbances while compensating for time-delay without knowledge of the dynamics of the helicopter *** effectiveness of the proposed method is demonstrated in a virtual platform.

Self-Sustaining of Critical Park Microgrids Integrating Mobile Emergency Generators Subjective to Major Outage

In the event of a major power outage,critical park microgrids(PMGs)could be self-sustaining if mobile emergency generators(MEGs)are stationed to share ***,the need for privacy protection and the value of flexible power support on minute-time scales have not been given enough *** address the problem,this paper proposes a new self-sustaining strategy for critical PMGs integrating ***,to promote the cooperation between PMG and MEG,a bi-level benefit distribution mechanism is designed,where the participants'multiple roles and contributions are identified,and good behaviors are also ***,to increase the alliance benefits,three loss coordination modes are presented to guide the power exchange at the minute level between the MEG and PMG,considering the volatility of renewable generation and *** this basis,a multi-time scale power-energy scheduling strategy is formulated via the alternating direction method of multipliers(ADMM)to coordinate the PMG and ***,a dimensionality reduction technology is designed to equivalently simplify the optimization problem to facilitate the adaptive-step-based ADMM *** studies indicate that the proposed strategy achieves the self-sustaining of PMGs integrating MEGs while increasing the economy by no less than 3.1%.

Dielectric size optimization for high power density in large-scale triboelectric nanogenerators

Triboelectric nanogenerators(TENGs)have emerged as a promising technology to harvest electrical energy from natural motions such as human movement,wind,and water *** TENGs show significant potential in small-scale applications,developing large-scale TENGs capable of generating high power remains a significant *** factors that can affect the performance of large-scale TENGs are being investigated to overcome this challenge,including the size and configuration of dielectric *** study optimizes dielectrics regarding surface area,thickness,and multicell configuration to improve harvested electrical power density in large-scale *** the studies,glass fiber was used as the positive dielectric,and multipurpose white silicone was used as the negative dielectric because of their high tribo-potential,durability,and easy *** the size optimization phase,dielectric thicknesses and surface areas that provide the maximum power density were ***,horizontal and vertical multicell configurations were examined to efficiently integrate size-optimized *** results reveal that large-scale TENGs with vertical multicell configurations can achieve high and usable energy density for *** findings provide valuable insight into the development of large-scale TENGs with advanced power generation capabilities.

As an innovative,low-power consuming,and low-stiffness suspension approach,the diamagnetic levitation technique has attracted considerable interest because of its potential applicability in miniaturized mechanical *** foundation of a diamagnetic levitation system is mathematical modeling,which is essential for operating performance optimization and stability ***,few studies on systematic mathematical modeling have been *** this study,a systematic mathematical model for a disc-shaped diamagnetically levitated rotor on a permanent magnet array is *** on the proposed model,the magnetic field distribution characteristics,diamagnetic levitation force characteristics(i.e.,levitation height and stiffness),and optimized theoretical conditions for realizing stable levitation are *** are conducted to verify the feasibility of the proposed mathematical *** predictions and experimental results indicate that increasing the levitation height enlarges the stable ***,with a further increase in the rotor radius,the stable regions of the rotor gradually diminish and even ***,when the levitation height is fixed,a moderate rotor radius permits stable *** study proposes a mathematical modeling method for a diamagnetic levitation system that has potential applications in miniaturized mechanical systems.

Low-frequency oscillation of train-network system considering traction power supply mode

The low-frequency oscillation(LFO)has occurred in the train-network system due to the introduction of the power electronics of the *** modeling and analyzing method in current researches based on electrified railway unilateral power supply system are not suitable for the LFO analysis in a bilateral power supply system,where the trains are supplied by two traction *** this work,based on the single-input and single-output impedance model of China CRH5 trains,the node admittance matrices of the train-network system both in unilateral and bilateral power supply modes are established,including three-phase power grid,traction transformers and traction *** the modal analysis is used to study the oscillation modes and propagation characteristics of the unilateral and bilateral power supply ***,the influence of the equivalent inductance of the power grid,the length of the transmission line,and the length of the traction network are analyzed on the critical oscillation mode of the bilateral power supply ***,the theoretical analysis results are verified by the time-domain simulation model in MATLAB/Simulink.
