A method for in-situ stress measurement via fiber optics was proposed. The method utilizes the relationship between rock mass elastic parameters and in-situ stress. The approach offers the advantage of long-term stress measurements with high spatial resolution and frequency, significantly enhancing the ability to measure in-situ stress. The sensing casing, spirally wrapped with fiber optic, is cemented into the formation to establish a formation sensing nerve. Injecting fluid into the casing generates strain disturbance, establishing the relationship between rock mass properties and treatment ***, an optimization algorithm is established to invert the elastic parameters of formation via fiber optic strains. In the first part of this paper series, we established the theoretical basis for the inverse differential strain analysis method for in-situ stress measurement, which was subsequently verified using an analytical model. This paper is the fundamental basis for the inverse differential strain analysis method.

Many locations with concentrated hydrates at vents have confirmed the presence of abundant thermogenic gas in the middle of the Qiongdongnan Basin(QDNB).However,the impact of deep structures on gasbearing fluids migration and gas hydrates distribution in tectonically inactive regions is still *** this study,the authors apply high-resolution 3D seismic and logging while drilling(LWD)data from the middle of the QDNB to investigate the influence of deep-large faults on gas chimneys and preferred gasescape *** findings reveal the following:(1)Two significant deep-large faults,F1 and F2,developed on the edge of the Songnan Low Uplift,control the dominant migration of thermogenic hydrocarbons and determine the initial locations of gas chimneys.(2)The formation of gas chimneys is likely related to fault activation and *** chimney 1 is primarily arises from convergent fluid migration resulting from the intersection of the two faults,while the gas chimney 2 benefits from a steeper fault plane and shorter migration distance of fault F2.(3)Most gas-escape pipes are situated near the apex of the two *** reactivations facilitate free gas flow into the GHSZ and contribute to the formation of fracture‐filling hydrates.

gas hydrate formation from two types of dissolved gas (methane and mixed gas) was studied under varying thermodynamic conditions in a novel apparatus containing two different natural media from the South China Sea. The testing media consisted of silica sand particles with diameters of 150-250 μm and 250-380 μm. hydrate was formed (as in nature) in salt water that occupies the interstitial space of the partially water-saturated silica sand bed. The experiments demonstrate that the rate of hydrate formation is a function of particle diameter, gas source, water salinity, and thermodynamic conditions. The initiation time of hydrate formation was very short and pressure decreased rapidly in the initial stage. The process of mixed gas hydrate formation can be divided into three stages for each type of sediment. Sand particle diameter and water salinity also can influence the formation process of hydrate. The conversion rate of water to hydrate was different under varying thermodynamic conditions, although the formation processes were similar. The conversion rate of methane hydrate in the 250-380 μm sediment was greater than that in the 150-250μm sediment. However, the sediment grain size has no significant influence on the conversion rate of mixed gas hydrate.

The formation and dissociation of methane gas hydrate at an interface between synthetic seawater （SSW） and methane gas have been experimentally investigated in the present work. The amount of gas consumed during hydrate formation has been calculated using the real gas equation. Induction time for the formation of hydrate is found to depend on the degree of subcooling. All the experiments were conducted in quiescent system with initial cell pressure of 11.14 MPa. Salinity effects on the onset pressure and temperature of hydrate formation are also observed. The dissociation enthalpies of methane hydrate in synthetic seawater were determined by Clausius-Clapeyron equation based on the measured phase equilibrium data. The dissociation data have been analyzed by existing models and compared with the reported data.

In this work, the effect of sodium dodecyl sulfate(SDS) and combined effect of sodium dodecyl sulfate(SDS) and tetrahydrofuran(THF) on thermodynamic and kinetic properties of CH4+C2H6+C3H8hydrate formation have been studied. Four different concentrations of sodium dodecyl sulfate(100 ppm, 500 ppm,1000 ppm and 1500 ppm) have been used to see its effect on phase equilibrium condition and formation kinetics. Though sodium dodecyl sulfate(SDS) does not vary the pressure–temperature condition of hydrate formation, it has a prominent favorable effect on induction time, gas consumption, storage capacity and formation rate. The addition of 3%(mol) tetrahydrofuran(THF) to water + SDS system results in large shifts in phase equilibrium boundary to lower pressure and higher temperature. It has been noticed that the addition of tetrahydrofuran further enhances the formation rate. So the mixture of sodium dodecyl sulfate(SDS) and tetrahydrofuran(THF) can be effectively used as promoter for storing natural gas as hydrate.

The equilibrium and kinetic of hydrate in sediments can be affected by the presence of external components like bentonite with a relatively large surface *** investigate the hydrate formation and decomposition behaviors in bentonite clay,the experiments of methane hydrate formation and decomposition using the multi-step decomposition method in bentonite with different water contents of 20%,40%and 60%(mass)were carried *** contents of bound,capillary and gravity water in bentonite clay and their roles during hydrate formation and decomposition were *** bentonite with water content of 20%(mass),the hydrate formation rate keeps fast during the whole formation process,and the final gas consumption under different initial formation pressures is *** bentonite with the water contents of 40%and 60%(mass),the hydrate formation rate declines significantly at the later stage of the hydrate *** final gas consumption of bentonite with the water contents of 40%and 60%(mass)is significantly higher than that with the water content of 20%(mass).During the decomposition process,the stable pressure increases with the decrease of the water *** mainly forms in free water in bentonite *** bentonite clay with the water contents of 20%and 40%(mass),the hydrate forms in capillary *** bentonite clay with the water content of 60%(mass),the hydrate forms both in capillary water and gravity *** bound water of dry bentonite clay is about 3.93%(mass)and the content of capillary water ranges from 42.37%to 48.21%(mass)of the dry bentonite clay.

To obtain the fundamental data of CO2/N2 gas mixture hydrate formation kinetics and CO2 separation and sequestration mechanisms,the gas hydrate formation process by a binary CO2/N2 gas mixture(50:50)in fine sediments(150–250μm)was investigated in a semibatch vessel at variable temperatures(273,275,and 277 K)and pressures(5.8–7.8 MPa).During the gas hydrate reaction process,the changes in the gaseous phase composition were determined by gas *** results indicate that the gas hydrate formation process of the binary CO2/N2 gas mixture in fine sediments can be reduced to two ***,the dissolved gas containing a large amount of CO2 formed gas hydrates,and then gaseous N2 participated in the gas hydrate *** the second stage,all the dissolved gas was ***,both gaseous CO2 and N2 diffused into *** first stage in different experiments lasted for 5–15 h,and>60%of the gas was consumed in this *** gas consumption rate was greater in the first stage than in the second *** the completion of gas hydrate formation,the CO2 content in the gas hydrate was more than that in the gas *** indicates that CO2 formed hydrate easily than N2 in the binary *** operating pressures and lower temperatures increased the gas consumption rate of the binary gas mixture in gas hydrate formation.

The porous medium has an important effect on hydrate *** this paper,the formation process and the gas storage capacity of the methane hydrate were investigated with A-type zeolite and Sodium Dodecyl Sulfate (SDS) existing in the *** results show that A-type zeolite can influence methane hydrate *** the temperature of 273.5 K and pressure of 8.3 MPa,the distilled water with A-type zeolite can form methane hydrate with gaseous methane in 12 *** formation process of the system with A-type zeolite was quite steady and the amount of A-type zeolite can influence the gas storage capacity *** adding of A-type zeolite with 0.067 g·(g water)-1 into 2×10-3 g·g-1 SDS-water solution can increase the gas storage capacity,and the maximum increase rate was 31%.Simultaneously the promotion effect on hydrate formation of 3A-type zeolite is much more obvious than that of 5A-type zeolite when the water adding amounts are 0.033 g·g-1 and 0.067 g·g-1 at the experimental conditions.
