Background:The high incidence of gallstone recurrence was a major concern for laparoscopic gallbladderpreserving *** study aimed to investigate the risk factors for gallstone recurrence after gallbladder-preserving surgery and to establish an individualized nomogram model to predict the risk of gallstone ***:The clinicopathological and follow-up data of 183 patients who were initially diagnosed with gallstones and treated with gallbladder-preserving surgery at our hospital from January 2012 to January 2019 were retrospectively *** independent predictive factors for gallstone recurrence following gallbladder-preserving surgery were identified by multivariate logistic regression analysis.A nomogram model for the prediction of gallstone recurrence was constructed based on the selected *** C-index,receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curve and calibration curve were used to evaluate the predictive power of the nomogram model for gallstone ***:During the follow-up period,a total of 65 patients experienced gallstone recurrence,and the recurrence rate was 35.5%.Multivariate logistic regression analysis revealed that the course of gallstones>2 years[odds ratio(OR)=2.567,95%confidence interval(CI):1.270-5.187,P=0.009],symptomatic gallstones(OR=2.589,95%CI:1.059-6.329,P=0.037),multiple gallstones(OR=2.436,95%CI:1.133-5.237,P=0.023),history of acute cholecystitis(OR=2.778,95%CI:1.178-6.549,P=0.020)and a greasy diet(OR=2.319,95%CI:1.186-4.535,P=0.014)were independent risk factors for gallstone recurrence after gallbladder-preserving surgery.A nomogram model for predicting the recurrence of gallstones was established based on the above five *** results showed that the C-index of the nomogram model was 0.692,suggesting it was valuable to predict gallstone ***,the calibration curve showed good consistency between the predicted probability and actual ***:The nomogram model for

In this editorial,we comment on the article“Analysis of the impact of immuno-therapy efficacy and safety in patients with gastric cancer and liver metastasis”by Liu et al that was published in the recent issue of the World Journal of Gastroin-testinal *** has prompted us to think and summarize some thoughts on immunotherapy for malignant tumor liver *** plays a crucial role in the treatment of malignant tumors;however,the presence of liver metastases in advanced tumors may impact its *** patients with liver metastases can still benefit from immunotherapy,multiple clinical studies have indicated that,compared to other sites of metastasis,liver metastases may diminish the effectiveness of *** efficacy of immune checkpoint inhibitors in patients with liver metastases often fails to reach the ideal level,primarily due to the liver metastases exploiting the host's peripheral immune to-lerance mechanisms to promote systemic CD8(+)T cell exhaustion,resulting in a systemic immune-tolerant *** article aims to summarize the reasons for the decreased efficacy of immunotherapy following liver metastasis in various malignant tumors and propose potential clinical strategies for manage-ment.

Background:With the rapid development of robotic surgery,especially for the abdominal surgery,robotic pancreatic surgery(RPS)has been applied increasingly around the ***,evidence-based guidelines regarding its application,safety,and efficacy are still *** harvest robust evidence and comprehensive clinical practice,this study aims to develop international guidelines on the use of ***:World Health Organization(WHO)Handbook for Guideline Development,GRADE Grid method,Delphi vote,and the AGREE-II instrument were used to establish the Guideline Steering Group,Guideline Development Group,and Guideline Secretary Group,formulate 19 clinical questions,develop the recommendations,and draft the *** online meetings were held on 04/12/2020,30/11/2021,and 25/01/2022 to vote on the recommendations and get advice and suggestions from all involved *** the experts focusing on minimally invasive surgery from America,Europe and Oceania made great contributions to this consensus ***:After a systematic literature review 176 studies were included,19 questions were addressed and 14 recommendations were developed through the expert assessment and comprehensive judgment of the quality and credibility of the ***:The international RPS guidelines can guide current practice for surgeons,patients,medical societies,hospital administrators,and related social *** randomized trials are required to determine the added value of RPS as compared to open and laparoscopic surgery.

Among minimally invasive surgical procedures,colorectal surgery is associated with a notably higher incidence of incisional hernia(IH),ranging from 1.7% to 24.3%.This complication poses a significant burden on the healthcare system annually,necessitating urgent attention from *** a study published in the World Journal of Gastrointestinal surgery,Fan et al compared the incidence of IH among 1614 patients who underwent laparoscopic colorectal surgery with different extraction site locations and evaluated the risk factors associated with its *** editorial analyzes the current risk factors for IH after laparoscopic colorectal surgery,emphasizing the impact of obesity,surgical site infection,and the choice of incision location on its ***,we summarize the currently available preventive measures for *** the low surgical repair rate and high recurrence rate associated with IH,prevention deserves greater research and attention compared to treatment.

AIM:To observe early clinical outcome with lens position adjustment following the implantable collamer lens(ICL)***:Sixty patients were selected for this retrospective *** eye from each patient received Toric ICL for astigmatism correction,and the other received non-astigmatic ICL surgery using horizontal *** with higher postoperative arch height were selected,and their non-astigmatic eye clinical outcome were observed after ICL surgery at 1wk,1,and *** clinical measurements included uncorrected visual acuity(UCVA),intraocular pressure(IOP),refractive state,corneal endothelium cell count,and arch *** months later,the ICL in each patient’s non-astigmatic eye was adjusted to the vertical from the horizontal *** results were compared before and 1wk,1,and 3mo after ***:UCVA and IOP were significantly reduced 1wk after position adjustment compared to 1wk after ICL implantation(P0.05).CONCLUSION:Early positioning adjustment postphakic ICL implantation can benefit patients with adjusted arch height or higher *** the good clinical effects,the doctors should pay attention to the potential for adverse effects on UCVA and corneal endothelium cells following early position adjustment after posterior chamber phakic ICL implantation.

Background: Hepatic ischemia-reperfusion injury (HIRI) stands as an unavoidable complication arising from liver surgery, profoundly intertwined with its prognosis. The role of lysine methyltransferase SET domain bifurcated 1 (SETDB1) in HIRI remains elusive, despite its confirmation as a potential therapeutic target for diverse diseases. Here, we investigated the mechanism by which SETDB1 regulated HIRI. Methods: RNA sequencing data were used to identify the expression and potential targets of SETDB1 through bioinformatics analysis. To elucidate the impact of SETDB1 on HIRI, both an in vivo model of HIRI in mice and an in vitro model of hepatocyte hypoxia/reoxygenation were established. Biochemical and histological analyses were used to investigate the influence of SETDB1 on liver damage mediated by HIRI. Chromatin immunoprecipitation and coimmunoprecipitation were implemented to explore the in-depth mechanism of SETDB1 regulating HIRI. Results: We confirmed that hepatocellular SETDB1 was up-regulated during HIRI and had a close correlation with HIRI-related inflammation and apoptosis. Moreover, inhibition of SETDB1 could mitigate HIRI-induced liver damage, inflammation, and apoptosis. Through our comprehensive mechanistic investigation, we revealed that SETDB1 interacts with apoptosis-signal-regulating kinase 1 (ASK1) and facilitates the methylation of its lysine residues. Inhibition of SETDB1 resulted in reduced phosphorylation of ASK1, leading to a marked suppression of downstream c-Jun N-terminal kinase (JNK)/p38 signaling pathway activation. The therapeutic effect on inflammation and apoptosis achieved through SETDB1 inhibition was nullified by the restoration of JNK/p38 signaling activation through ASK1 overexpression. Conclusions: The findings from our study indicate that SETDB1 mediates lysine methylation of ASK1 and modulates the activation of the ASK1–JNK/p38 pathway, thus involved in HIRI-induced inflammation and apoptosis.
