The visual analysis of common neurological disorders such as epileptic seizures in electroencephalography(EEG) is an oversensitive operation and prone to errors,which has motivated the researchers to develop effective automated seizure detection *** paper proposes a robust automatic seizure detection method that can establish a veritable diagnosis of these *** proposed method consists of three steps:(i) remove artifact from EEG data using Savitzky-Golay filter and multi-scale principal component analysis(MSPCA),(ii) extract features from EEG signals using signal decomposition representations based on empirical mode decomposition(EMd),discrete wavelet transform(dWT),and dual-tree complex wavelet transform(dTCWT) allowing to overcome the non-linearity and non-stationary of EEG signals,and(iii) allocate the feature vector to the relevant class(i.e.,seizure class "ictal" or free seizure class "interictal") using machine learning techniques such as support vector machine(SVM),k-nearest neighbor(k-NN),and linear discriminant analysis(LdA).The experimental results were based on two EEG datasets generated from the CHB-MIT database with and without overlapping *** results obtained have shown the effectiveness of the proposed method that allows achieving a higher classification accuracy rate up to 100% and also outperforms similar state-of-the-art methods.

Epileptic seizures are known for their unpredictable ***,recent research provides that the transition to seizure event is not random but the result of evidence ***,a reliable method capable to detect these indications can predict seizures and improve the life quality of epileptic *** periods are generally characterized by epileptiform discharges with different changes including spike rate variation according to the shapes,spikes,and the *** this study,spike rate is used as the indicator to anticipate seizures in electroencephalogram(EEG) *** detection step is used in EEG signal during interictal,preictal,and ictal periods followed by a mean filter to smooth the spike *** maximum spike rate in interictal periods is used as an indicator to predict *** the spike number in the preictal period exceeds the threshold,an alarm is *** the CHB-MIT database,the proposed approach has ensured92% accuracy in seizure prediction for all patients.

The permanent siltation of harbours and estuaries has led their administrative companies to undertake dredging operations in order to guarantee a minimal water depth required for free access to port infrastructures. This long and expensive work interferes with the port trade. dredged material is injected into the sea with the creation of a maritime dump or stocked on earth in basins. In each case, there will be a formation of a high water content soil. This paper deals with the geotechnical formation of high water content soils by means of an experimental lab.ratory sedimentation/consolidation bench. We have devised and realized a controlled bench which allows us to analyze the natural soil formation under self weight. The tested soil settles in sedimentation/consolidation columns (1.5 m. in height, 100 mm in diameter). Pressure and density measurements in the tested soil are possible on the whole height of the vertical column. Values of density are obtained by gamma-densimetry. The precision of the measurements is +/-0.5% for the density and +/-3 Pa for the pressures. Each test is performed over 32 days with 17 intermediate times. An originality of this bench lies in the fact that it allows measurements with a good precision in density and pressure at a very early state of soil formation (first values at 1 .33 min. from the beginning of the test). The test we are presenting concerned the natural mud found in the Loire estuary (France) prepared to an initial concentration of 200 g/ 1 (density 1. 135). These measurements are studied in terms of evolution of total stress, excess pore pressure, void ratio and effective stress as related to time. For this test, we present the density and pressure measured profiles as well as the deduced effective stress curves, paths of particles and rates of consolidation. On a void ratio versus effective stress diagram, we clearly show the evolution of soil consolidating under self weight during the intermediate phase of its formation

Environmental stability is a major bottleneck of perovskite solar *** a handful of studies are investigating the effect of moisture on the structural degradation of the *** mostly rely on ex situ experiments and on completely degraded samples,which restrict the assessment on initial and final *** combining in situ X-ray diffraction under controlled 85%relative humidity,and live observations of the water-induced degradation using liquid-cell transmission electron microscopy,we reveal two competitive degradation paths leading on one hand to the decomposition of state-of-theart mixed cation/anion(Cs_(0.05)(MA_(0.17)FA_(0.83))_(0.95)Pb(Br_(0.17)I_(0.83))_(3)(CsMAFA)into PbI_(2) through a dissolution/recrystallization mechanism and,on the other hand,to a non-equilibrium phase segregation leading to CsPb_(2)Br_(5) and a Cesium-poor/iodide-rich Cs_(0.05)-x(MA_(0.17)FA_(0.83))_(0.95)Pb(Br_(0.17-2y)I_(0.83)+2y)_(3) *** degradation mechanism is corroborated at atomic-scale resolution through solid-state ^(1)H and ^(133)Cs NMR *** to moisture leads to a film containing important heterogeneities in terms of morphology,photoluminescence intensities,and *** results provide new insights and consensus that complex perovskite compositions,though very performant as champion devices,are comparatively metastable,a trait that limits the chances to achieve long-term stability.

A High dynamic Range GMI Current Sensor

The design and performances of a high dynamic range dC-AC current sensor utilizing Giant Magneto-Impedance (GMI) are presented. The sensor is based on a GMI element with negative feedback. The sensing element is a 30 μm diameter GMI Co-based amorphous wire. It is curled to a toroidal core of 2 cm diameter. A bias magnetic field of about 650 A/m is applied to the GMI element to obtain an asymmetric GMI effect. A strong negative feedback is introduced to ensure linearity in a wide dynamic range. Analog conditioning electronics was fully developed. This includes a square wave oscillator based on an inverter trigger;a peak detector and a high gain amplifier with zero adjust. The GMI element is driven at a 3 MHz frequency and 5 mA peak-to-peak current. The closed-loop operations are investigated and the performances of the sensor are presented. dC current measurements are performed. The sensor exhibits good sensitivity and very good linearity, free from hysteresis, in a wide dynamic range of ±40 A. The sensitivity is about 0.24 V/A and the linearity error is about 0.02% of the full scale (FS). The hysteresis error is smaller than the measurement accuracy. AC current measurements using the developed sensor have also been successfully achieved. The sensor bandwidth in closed-loop was about 1.7 kHz.

We presented a relationship between the temperature control and measurement stability limit and the temperature resolution,particularly for using rhodium-iron resistance thermometers and AC resistance *** on this,temperature control was investigated and demonstrated in primary gas thermometry under various working *** optimized parameters,micro-Kelvin level temperature control stability was realized in the temperature region from 5 K to 24.5 *** temperature control stabilities are better than 8μK over 180 h with an integration time of 33.6 s in the concerned temperature range,closing to the limit that the sensors and the instruments can control and *** stabilities were significantly improved about(44±8)%at 24.5 K and(70±7)%at 5 K comparing with our previous work(Chen et al.,Cryogenics,2019,97:1–6).
