Large electrical strain in lead-free K_(0.5)Na_(0.5)NbO_(3)-based ceramics by heterovalent doping

Heterovalent doped(K_(0.48-0.07)xNa_(0.52-0.43)xBi_(0.5)x)(Nb_(0.95-0.95x)Sb_(0.05-0.05x)Zrx)O_(3)ceramics were fabricated using conventional solid-state ***,the phase structures,dielectric,ferroelectric,and electricstrain properties were *** compositions were tuned to be located at polymorphic phase boundary with increasing heterovalent Bi3t and Zr4t doping levels.A large strain of 0.19%was obtained at relatively low electric fields of 30 kV/cm in the composition of x=*** normalized large-signal d33*values were approximately 633 pm/V under a low driving electric field of 30 kV/cm,which were comparable or larger than the values reported for other lead-free *** large strains obtained can be attributed to the formation of nanodomains and high-density domain walls,which were confirmed by the observations of domain morphology using transmission electron microscopy(TEM)*** temperature stability of the strain properties of the x=0.04 sample could be ascribed to the sluggish behaviour for the local structural heterogeneity in heterovalent-ion doped KNN *** simulations revealed that the Zr^(4t)produce the local stress at the BO6 octahedra and Bi3t could yield off-centering of AO12 ployhedron due to the nature of Bi 6s lone pair electrons,which induced lattice expansion and local distortions in the *** local displacements are strongly anisotropic in heterovalent-ion doped *** is believed that random local fields exist in these compositions owing to the eixstence of charge *** heterovalent doping of Bi^(3t)and Zr^(4t)could destory simultaneously the orthorhombic symmetry and the short-range ferroelecctric order,leading to the formation of complex nanodomains and local structral *** doping may,therefore,offer a new avenve to design novel K0.5Na0.5NbO3(KNN)-based materials for their mutifunctional applications.

Exploration of strong-field double ionization of C_(3)H_(6) with the structures of propene and cyclopropane in intense laser fields

By using classical ensemble method,we investigate the double ionization of C_(3)H_(6) molecule with different structures(propene and cyclopropane)in intense laser *** numerical results show that the non-sequential double ionization occurs in propene molecule rather than cyclopropane molecule in 1200 nm laser *** further explain this interesting phenomenon,the momentum distribution of double ionized electrons is presented and the result presents the"finger-like"structure at about 30 TW/cm^(2) of propene molecule,and this structure is more obvious than that in cyclopropane *** above phenomena are also demonstrated by analysing the energy distributions of double-ionized electrons versus ***,we also investigated the angular distribution at the end of pulse,which is different between propene and cyclopropane.

Mechanical Characteristics Test of Concrete Steel Bars Available in Côte d’Ivoire

Buildings collapse has now become a recurrent phenomenon in Côte d’Ivoire. Therefore, this study was conducted to find out the reasons for these disasters, and check in particular to the extent, and concrete steel bars produced in Côte d’Ivoire and used in buildings’ structures are involved. Samples having 6, 8, 10 and 12 mm in diameter steel taken from the five (5) major manufacturers or suppliers of the Ivorian market were subjected to physical, chemical and mechanical tests to determine their performance. A comparison of these results with the NF EN 10080 and NF A35 080-1 standards made it possible to calculate the probability to have out-of-standard products in a structure. Pieces having 60 cm were cut from three bars of the same thickness and then subjected to tests. These are the chemical test by optical emission spectrometer, physical tests by caliper measurements of diameter, height of bolts and ribs and calculation of linear mass, and tensile tests with the help of hydraulic press. These tests made it possible to determine the characteristics of the steel bars. Then, these characteristics were compared with standards NF EN 10080 and NF A35 080-1, in order to judge their conformity for construction. Finally, the likelihood of having non-standard steel bars in a structure is calculated. These tests indicate that the relative surfaces of the bolts of the various bars HA6, HA8, HA10 and HA12 vary from 0.146 to 0.323 respectively;0.120 to 0.312;0.101 to 0, 297 and 0.142 to 0.482. Likewise, their calculated linear masses of these bars are respectively between 28.3 mm2 and 222 g/m;50.3 mm2 and 395 g/m;78.5 mm2 and 617 g/m;and 113 mm2 and 888 g/m. In addition, their yield strengths and elongations at break vary from 344 MPa to 582 MPa and from 0.2% to 15% respectively. According to analysis of these results, 100% of steel bars woul

Enhanced absorption of solar cell made of photonic crystal by geometrical .design

In this paper, via numerical simulation we designed the geometry of solar cell made by onedimensional （1D） and two-dimensional （2D） photonic crystals with two kinds of materiel （silicon （Si） and hydrogenated amorphous silicon （a-Si：H）） in order to enhance its absorption. The absorption characteristics of light in the solar cell structures are simulated by using finite-difference time-domain （FDTD） method. The calculation results show that the enhancement of absorption in patterned structure is apparent comparing to the unpatterned one, which proves the ability of the structure to produce photonic crystal solar cell. We found solar cell geometries as a 2D photonic crystal enable to increase the absorption between 380 and 750 nm.

For the last few years,the research interest in magnetoelectric(ME)effect,which is the cross-coupling between ferroelectric and magnetic ordering in multiferroic materials,has experienced a significant *** extensive recent studies are not only conducted towards the design of sensors,actuators,transducers,and memory devices by taking advantage of the cross-control of polarization(or magnetization)by magnetic(or electric)fields,but also aim to create a clearer picture in understanding the sources of ME responses and the novel effects associated with *** we derive analytical models allowing to understand the striking and novel dynamics of ME effects in multiferroics and further confirm it with atomistic ***,the role of strain is revealed to lead to the existence of electroacoustic magnons,a new quasiparticle that mixes acoustic and optical phonons with magnons,which results in resonances and thus a dramatic enhancement of magnetoelectric ***,a unique aspect of the dynamical quadratic ME response under a magnetic field with varying frequencies,which is the second harmonic generation(SHG),has not been discussed prior to the present *** SHGs put emphasis on the fact that nonlinearities should be considered while dealing with such systems.

Moringa oleifera is an edible plant cultivated throughout the tropical belt. It belongs to the family Moringaceae and is one of its 14 known species. This paper presents a synthesis of the main factors responsible for the retention of trace metal elements (TMEs) by Moringa oleifera seed powder, a natural adsorbent. The five main factors studied are metal concentration, solution pH, adsorbent particle size, adsorbent dose and adsorbent/adsorbate contact time. Through these factors, we present the optimal conditions for removal of these TMEs, as well as adsorption isotherm models appropriate for the conditions of retention of these metal cations by the adsorbent. The times of 20 min (GD) and 50 min (GND) are the equilibrium times obtained in our study. An optimal adsorbent mass (GD and GND powders) of 4.5 g was found. 20% to 97% abatement is observed for average pH values between 6 and 8. In this work, an inexpensive and environmentally friendly natural adsorbent obtained from shelled (GD) and unshelled (GND) Moringa oleifera seeds was used for copper adsorption from aqueous solutions. A series of experiments were performed to assess the parameters influencing the adsorption phenomenon such as pH, adsorbent mass, adsorption equilibrium time and temperature. The kinetic results of adsorption described a pseudo-second order model. The adsorption isotherms are satisfactorily described by the Langmuir mathematical model. The thermodynamic data revealed a spontaneous and endothermic adsorption phenomenon. The level of copper in surface water before and after addition of moringa powders was carried out to verify the effectiveness of the adsorbent. A maximum adsorption rate of 51.28% and 61.96% was obtained with GD and GND powders respectively. Moringa oleifera seed powders are an effective alternative for the removal of copper from surface water.

Modelling Uncertainty of Stream Networks Derived from Elevation Data Using Two Free Softwares: R and SAGA

Stream networks are considered important units in many environmental decision making processes. The extraction of streams using digital elevation models (DEMs) presents many advantages. However it is very sensitive to the uncertainty of the elevation datasets used. The main aim of this paper is to implement geostatistical simulations and assess the propagated uncertainty and map the error of location streams. First, point sampled elevations are used to fit a variogram model. Next two hundred DEM realizations are generated using conditional sequential Gaussian simulation;the stream network map is extracted for each of these realizations, and the collection of stream networks is analyzed to quantify the error propagation. At each grid cell, the probability of the occurrence of a stream and the propagated error are estimated. The more probable stream network are delineated and compared with the digital stream network derived from topographic map. The method is illustrated using a small dataset (8742 sampled elevations) for Anaguid Saharan platform. All computations are run in two free softwares: R and SAGA. R is used to fit variogram and to run sequential Gaussian simulation. SAGA is used to extract streams via RSAGA library.
