Highly adaptive triboelectric tactile sensor on the foot of autonomous wall-climbing robots for detecting the adhesion state and avoiding the hazard

Due to the excellent maneuverability and obstacle crossing of legged robots,it is possible for an autonomous legged wallclimbing robots to replace manual inspection of ship exterior ***,when the magnetic adsorption legged wallclimbing robot steps on the convex point or convex line of the wall,or even when the robot missteps,the robot is likely to detach from the ferromagnetic ***,this paper proposes a tactile sensor for the legged magnetic adsorption wall-climbing robot to detect the magnetic adsorption state and improve the safety of the autonomous crawling of the *** tactile sensor mainly comprises a three-dimensional(3D)-printed shell,a tactile slider,and three isometric sensing units,with an optimized *** experiment shows that the triboelectric tactile sensor can monitor the sliding depth of the tactile slider and control the light-emitting device(LED)signal *** addition,in the demonstration experiment of detecting the adsorption state of the robot's foot,the triboelectric tactile sensor has strong adaptability to various ferromagnetic wall ***,this study establishes a robot gait control system to verify the feedback control ability of the triboelectric tactile *** results show that the robot equipped with the triboelectric tactile sensor can recognize the dangerous area on the crawling wall and autonomously avoid the ***,the proposed triboelectric tactile sensor has great potential in realizing the tactile sensing ability of robots and enhancing the safety and intelligent inspection of ultra-large vessels.

Versatile Organogels of Aluminum Oxide Subnanosheets for Locking Solvents and adhesion

Herein,we present a facile strategy to prepare versatile aluminum oxide subnanometer nanosheets with oleic acid and stearic acid ligands(OA-Al SNSs and SA-Al SNSs,respectively).The size effect endows subnanosheets with abundant acting sites,remarkable intermolecular interactions,and unique polymer-like properties,including flexibility,viscoelasticity,and sol-gel transitions,which is quite different from traditional inorganic ***,subnanosheets could form freestanding organogels and OA-Al SNSs exhibit satisfying semisolidification of various solvents,making it an intriguing candidate for the safe storage and transportation of ***,SA-Al SNSs exhibit excellent adhesive properties of high strength on diverse substrates,and it is easy to erase it without any damage,demonstrating the promising prospects in practical applications.

With the rapid development of Micro-Electro-Mechanical System(MEMS),we enter a field in which the surface effects have dominated many of the micro-scale phenomena,and the adhesive contact is one of the *** this paper,a feasible model for finite element computation is presented via a macroscopic and microscopic combination approach,in which the adhesive forces are simulated by some non-linear spring elements considering the softening *** basic problems concerning the adhesion effect were considered;through specific quantitative analysis,the results show a consistency with the current elastic continuum theories of adhesion and a brief investigation into the effects of adhesion on plastic deformation and tangential contact will be carried out as well.

Measurements of Formaldehyde and TVOC Emission from Paints and Coating Materials using Small Chamber Method for Building composites

An optimal test method for paint is proposed; additionally, the Field and laboratory Emission Cell （FLEC） method used in Europe is applied as a substitute for the 20 L small chamber method. The emission factors of total volatile organic compounds （TVOC） and formaldehyde from oil-based paint, emulsion paint, and water-dispersion paint with a coating weight of 300 g/m2, cured for 24/48 hours, were measured using the 20 L small chamber method. The emission rate of TVOC and formaldehyde from all paints began to stabilize after approximately 7 days after 24/48 hours of curing even though Korean standards stipulate that paint should be measured and analyzed after the third day of application. The emission factor of TVOC and formaldehyde from oil-based, emulsion, and water-dispersion paints were also measured using the FLEC method. There was good correlation between the 20 L small chamber method and the FLEC method for oil-based, emulsion, and water-dispersion paint emissions. With the FLEC method, using paints prepared under identical conditions, the emission rate was stable 24 hours after installation of samples because the air flow rate of FLEC is much higher than that of a 20 L small chamber, and the relative cell volume of FLEC is much smaller than that of a 20 L small chamber.

Detachment Behavior of Gecko Toe in Functional Strategies for bionic Toe

Geckos can efficiently navigate complex terrains due to their multi-level adhesive system that is present on their *** setae are responsible for the gecko’s extraordinary adhesion and have garnered wide attention from the scientific *** majority of the reported works in the literature that have dealt with the peeling models mainly focus on the gecko hierarchical adhesive system,with limited attention given to investigating the influence of gecko toe structure on the *** these lines,to gain a deeper understanding of the rapid and effortless detachment abilities of gecko toes,the peeling behavior of gecko toes on vertical surfaces was primarily investigated in this *** specifically,the detachment time of a single toe on a smooth acrylic plate was measured to be 0.41±0.21 ***,it was observed that the toe assumed a"U"-shaped structure upon complete ***,Finite Element Analysis(FEA)models for three different types of gecko toes were developed to simulate both the displacement-peel and the moment-peel *** the segmentation of the adhesive layer led to a gradual decrease in the resultant force,as well as the normal and tangential ***,a gecko-inspired toe model was constructed and powered by Shape Memory Alloy(SMA).A systematic comparison between the vertical drag separation and the outward flip separation was also *** our analysis,it was clearly demonstrated that outward peel separation significantly necessitated the reduction of the peeling force,thus confirming the advantageous nature of the outward motion in gecko toe *** data not only contribute to a deeper understanding of the gecko detachment behavior but also offer valuable insights for the advancement of the wall-climbing robot feet.

Large-Area Gravure-Printed AgNWs Electrode on Water/Oxygen Barrier Substrate for Long-Term Stable Large-Area Flexible Organic Solar Cells

Large-area AgNWs electrodes(25 cm×10 cm)were fabricated through roll-to-roll printing on the polyvinyl alcohol(PVA)modified water and oxygen barrier *** modification of the barrier film with PVA improved the wettability of silver nanowires on the barrier films and led to the formation of homogenous large-area AgNWs *** mechanical flexibility,especially the adhesion force between the silver electrode and the barrier film substrate was dramatically improved through PVA *** efficiency of 13.51%for the flexible OSCs with an area of 0.64 cm2 was achieved based on the PET/barrier film/PVA/AgNWs *** long-term stability showed the flexible OSCs based on the PET/barrier film/PVA/AgNWs electrode have a significantly improved stability relative to the device on PET/AgNWs electrode,and comparable air stability as the rigid device with glass/ITO *** unencapsulated devices maintained nearly 50%of the original efficiency after storage for 600 h in *** a simple top encapsulation,the flexible devices remained at 60%of the initial efficiency after 2000 h in the ***,the flexible AgNWs electrode based on the barrier film would have the potential to improve the air storage stability of organic flexible solar cells.
