Phenylformamidinium-enabled quasi-2D Ruddlesden-Popper perovskite solar cells with improved stability

Two-dimensional(2D)/quasi-2D perovskite solar cells(PSCs)incorporating organic spacer cations exhibit appealing ambient stability in comparison with their 3D *** reported organic spacer cations are based on ammonium,whereas formamidinium(FA^(+))has been seldom applied despite that FA has been extensively used in high-efficiency 3D ***,a novel FA-based organic spacer cation,4-chloro-phenylformamidinium(CPFA^(+)),is applied in quasi-2D Ruddlesden-Popper(RP)PSCs for the first time,and methylammonium chloride(MACl)is employed to promote crystal growth and orientation of perovskite film,resulting in high power conversion efficiency(PCE)with improved *** incorporating CPFA+organic spacer cation and MACl additive,high-quality quasi-2D CPFA_(2)MA_(n-1)Pb_(n)(I_(0.857)Cl_(0.143))_(3n+1)(n=9)perovskite film forms,exhibiting improved crystal orientation,reduced trap state density,prolonged carrier lifetime and optimized energy level ***,the CPFA_(2)MA_(n-1)Pb_(n)(I_(0.857)Cl_(0.143))_(3n+1)(n=9)quasi-2D RP PSC devices deliver a highest PCE of 14.78%.Moreover,the un-encapsulated CPFA-based quasi-2D RP PSC devices maintain~80%of its original PCE after exceeding 2000 h storage under ambient condition,whereas the 3D MAPb I3counterparts retain only~45%of its original ***,the ambient stability of quasi-2D RP PSC devices is improved obviously relative to its 3D MAPb I3counterpart.

Aqueous Zinc-based energy storage devices are considered as one of the potential candidates in future power ***,poor low temperature performance and uncontrollab.e Zn dendrite growth lead to the limited energy storage ***,an anti-hydrolysis,cold-resistant,economical,safe,and environmentally friendly electrolyte is developed by utilizing water,ethylene glycol(EG),and ZnCl_(2)with high ionic conductivity(7.9 mS cm^(-1)in glass fiber membrane at-20℃).The spectra data and DFT calculations show the competitive coordination of EG and Cl-to induce a unique solvation configuration of Zn^(2+),conducive to effectively inhibiting the hydrolysis of Zn^(2+),suppressing the dendrite growth,and broadening the working voltage range and temperature range of ZnCl_(2)*** isotope tracing data confirm that Cl^(-)could effectively destroy the ZnO passivation film,promoting the formation of Zn nuclei and improving its reaction *** to the corresponding ZnSO4electrolyte,the Cu/Zn half-cell with the ZnCl_(2)electrolyte exhibits a stable cycle life of more than 1600 h at-20℃,even at the current density of 5 mA cm^(-2).The assembled Zn-ion hybrid capacitor possesses an average capacity of 42.68 m A h g^(-1)under-20℃at a current density of 5 A g^(-1),3.5 times than that of the modified *** work proposes a new approach for optimizing aqueous electrolytes to meet low temperature energy storage applications.

It is challenging to balance the cyclab.lity and rate capability of single crystal nickel-rich cathode materials(Ni>0.8).Multicomponent oxides by spray pyrolysis shows potential as highly-reactive precursors to synthesize single crystal nickel-rich cathode at lower temperature,yet Ni^(2+)will severely inhibit particle growth when Ni content exceeds ***,lithium nitrate(LiNO_(3))with low melting point and strong oxidation is introduced as collab.rate lithium salts for fabrication of well-dispersed submicron and micron single crystal LiNi_(0.9)Co_(0.055)Mn_(0.045)O_(2)(NCM90)cathode without extra unit *** changing amount of LiNO_(3),particle size regulation is realized and cation disorder can be *** as-prepared material with optimal content of 4 wt%LiNO_(3)(NCM90-4 LN)displays the most appropriate particle size(1μm)with approximately stoichiometric structure,and presents better kinetics characterization of lithium-ion diffusion(15%higher than NCM90)and good electrochemical performance with specific discharge capacity of 220.6 and 173.8 mAh g^(-1) at 0.1 C and 10 C at room temperature,*** work broadens the conventional research methodology of size regulation for single crystal Ni-rich cathode materials and is indispensable for the development of designing principal of nickel-rich cathode materials for lithium-ion batteries.

Assessment of Biosafety Practices in Clinical lab.ratories in Khartoum State, Sudan

Background: Several related accidents occur in the lab.ratories due to insufficient regulation, inappropriate implementation of safety measures or unawareness attitude and practice toward safety precaution. Biosafety is a tool through which we are managing safety and security related to any kinds of hazards that may be either to the human, animals, plants and environment as well. We can implement good lab.ratory practice to minimize the risk while performing any kind of test procedures, either handling to the samples like blood and other body fluids which is playing important role for infections and transmissible diseases. If we will provide facilities and training to the lab.personnel, then we can protect public, agriculture, and the environment from which is leading cause of infections as well as hazards such as biological, chemical, electrical and glassware. For achieving effective and necessary biosafety and security, it should make sure that any unauthorized person is not able to handle, process, transport to minimize loss and misuse of the any kind of hazards especially biohazards. Therefore, it’s highly recommended to make an international system to avoid any kind of biosafety related issues. Objective: Because biosafety is an important element in quality management system (QMS) and it is a fundamental tool for compliance with accreditation and certification standards, the aim of this study was to assess the practices of lab.personnel towards biosafety measures in their lab.ratories. Method: The study was cross-sectional study that conducted among 70 lab.ratories by use of structured questionnaire. Data analysis was done by using statistical package for social science (SPSS). Result: Among 70 lab.ratories, 2 (3%) were appointing a biosafety officer, 16 (23%) have fire detection system and fire alarm system, and 20 (29%) of all lab.ratories were provided by fire extinguisher. Petrographic features,C,O and Sr isotopes,rare earth and trace elements were determined,and fluid inclusions were analyzed on various stages of interparticle cements and vug-fillings from the Upper Permian and Lower Triassic sour reservoirs in northeastern Sichuan *** aim was to assess the origin and evolution of palaeo-waters in the *** original water was contemporary seawater, from which marine cements precipitated with slightly high Sr contents(mean 1911 ppm),Sr/Sr ratios from 0.7067 to 0.7082 and nonluminescent *** palaeo-seawater was diluted by meteoric water,as indicated by bright cathodoluminescence(CL) and Sr-depletion(0-516 ppm) in low-temperature calcite. When buried to temperatures of about 60-90℃during Middle to Late Triassic,the palaeo-water was enriched in Sr released from the transformation of precursor aragonite and calcite to dolomite,resulting in precipitation of substantial pre-bitumen Sr-rich minerals(SrSO and SrCO).For un-dolomitized limestone sections,aragonite neomorphism may have contributed Sr to the precipitation of small amounts of Sr-bearing minerals and calcite crystals with elevated homogenization temperatures(HTs,mainly from 90 to 130℃) and wide Sr contents(from 34 to 3825 ppm),as recorded in stageⅢ*** the Middle Jurassic,almost all of the early stage celestite and significant amounts of solid CaSO have been consumed by reactions with hydrocarbons(i.e.,TSR),resulting in water enriched in isotopically light CO and HCO,Sr,Ba and Eu,as recorded in calcite with lowδC values(down to -18.9‰),Sr/Sr ratios from 0.7072 to 0.7076,high HTs(mainly 110-198℃),positive Eu anomalies and high Sr and Ba contents. Subsequently,the water was uplifted and cooled down to about 115℃,celestite and strontianite were precipitated with the occurrence of natural elemental S immiscible *** may have produced significant amounts of freshwater,which brought down Sr concentrations and salinities of the palaeo-waters to not more

Semiconductor sensitized solar cells(SSSCs) are promising candidates for the third generation of cost-effective photovoltaic solar cells and it is important to develop a group of robust, environment-friendly and visible-light-responsive semiconductor sensitizers. In this paper, we first synthesized bismuth vanadate(Bi VO4) quantum dots by employing facile successive ionic layer adsorption and reaction(SILAR) deposition technique, which we then used as a sensitizer for solar energy conversion. The preliminary optimised oxide SSSC showed an efficiency of 0.36%, nearly 2 orders of magnitude enhancement compared with bare Ti O2, due to the narrow bandgap absorption of Bi VO4 quantum dots and intimate contact with the oxide substrate. This result not only demonstrates a simple method to prepare Bi VO4 quantum dots based solar cells, but also provides important insights into the low bandgap oxide SSSCs.

G protein-coupled receptors(GPCRs)convert extracellular stimuli in the form of hormones,odorants and light into profound changes in cell *** timely desensitization is critical for cells to rapidly respond to changes in their environment and to avoid damage from sustained *** GPCR kinases(GRKs)phosphorylate and regulate the activity of most of the^800 GPCRs in the human *** GRKs normally play an adaptive role,in conditions such as chronic heart failure they are overexpressed and linked to disease ***2 and GRK5 have thus become important targets for the treatment of heart failure and pathological cardiac hypertrophy,*** lab.has determined atomic structures representing all three vertebrate GRK subfamilies,and is now in the midst of a campaign to develop selective inhibitors of these enzymes using structure-based rational *** have identified the FDA approved drug paroxetine as a selective GRK2 inhibitor,determined the crystal structure of the GRK2·paroxetine complex and,in collab.ration with the Koch lab.showed that the drug improves contractility in myocytes and,most impressively,recovery in postmyocardial infarcted *** then,we have identified additional chemical scaffolds that exhibit even higher potency and/or selectivity for *** a"hybrid"inhibitor design approach we have generated GRK selective chemical probes that exhibit improved potency and stability and are able to increase inotropy and dampen the hypertrophic response in cardiomyocytes and small animal *** analysis has revealed the molecular basis for selectivity and potency in many of these compounds,allowing for the design of future generations of GRK chemical probes.
