Collembolans maintain a core microbiome responding to diverse soil ecosystems

The unique gut habitat led to a core intestinal micro-biome in diverse soil *** collembolan guts may help eliminate soil ***-selection carried more weight on community assembly of gut *** invertebrates are widely distributed in the ecosystem and are essential for soil ecological ***-brate gut microbiome plays an important role in host health and has been considered as a hidden microbial ***,little is known about how gut microbiome in soil invertebrates respond to diverse soil *** on a lab.ratory microcosm experiment,we characterized the assembling of microbiome of soil collembolans(Folsomia candida)from six representative regions of the soil ecosystem which they *** showed that collembolan gut microbial communities differed significantly from their surrounding soil microbial communities.A dominant core gut microbiome was identified in gut *** analyses indicated that deterministic process dominated in the community assembly of collembolan gut *** results further demonstrate a dominant contribution of host selection in shaping gut *** is also worthy to mention that pathogens,such as common agricultural phytopathogenic fungi Fusarium,were involved in core microbiome,indicating that collembolans could act as vectors of *** results unravelled the existence of gut core microbiome of collembolans in soil ecosystems and provided new insights for under-standing the crucial role of gut microbiome of soil fauna in maintaining microbial biodiversity and stability of soil ecosystems.

The deterministic condition for the ground reaction force acting point on the combined knee valgus and tibial internal rotation moments in early phase of cutting maneuvers in female athletes

Background:Combined knee valgus and tibial internal rotation(VL+IR)moments have been shown to stress the anterior cruciate ligament(ACL)in several in vitro cadaveric *** utilize this knowledge for non-contact ACL injury prevention in sports,it is necessary to elucidate how the ground reaction force(GRF)acting point(center of pressure(CoP))in the stance foot produces combined knee VL+IR moments in risky maneuvers,such as ***,the effects of the GRF acting point on the development of the combined knee VL+IR moment in cutting are still ***:We first established the deterministic mechanical condition that the CoP position relative to the tibial rotational axis differentiates the GRF vector’s directional probability for developing the combined knee VL+IR moment,and theoretically predicted that when the CoP is posterior to the tibial rotational axis,the GRF vector is more likely to produce the combined knee VL+IR moment than when the CoP is anterior to the tibial rotational ***,we tested a stochastic aspect of our theory in a lab.controlled in vivo *** females performed 60˚cutting under forefoot/rearfoot strike conditions(10 trials each).The positions of lower limb markers and GRF data were measured,and the knee moment due to GRF vector was *** trials were divided into anterior-and posterior-CoP groups depending on the CoP position relative to the tibial rotational axis at each 10 ms interval from 0 to 100 ms after foot strike,and the occurrence rate of the combined knee VL+IR moment was compared between trial ***:The posterior-CoP group showed significantly higher occurrence rates of the combined knee VL+IR moment(maximum of 82.8%)at every time point than those of the anterior-CoP trials,as theoretically predicted by the deterministic mechanical ***:The rearfoot strikes inducing the posterior CoP should be avoided to reduce the risk of non-contact ACL injury associated with the com

Container-based virtualization isbecoming increasingly popular in cloud computing due to its efficiency and *** isolation is a fundamental property of *** works have indicated weak resource isolation could cause significant performance degradation for containerized applications and enhanced resource ***,current studies have almost not discussed the isolation problems of page cache which is a key resource for *** leverage memory cgroup to control page cache ***,existing policy introduces two major problems in a container-based ***,containers can utilize more memory than limited by their cgroup,effectively breaking memory ***,the Os kernel has to evict page cache to make space for newly-arrived memory requests,slowing down containerized *** paper performs an empirical study of these problems and demonstrates the performance impacts on containerized *** we propose pCache(precise control of page cache)to address the problems by dividing page cache into private and shared and controlling both kinds of page cache separately and *** do so,pCache leverages two new technologies:fair account(f-account)and evict on demand(EoD).F-account splits the shared page cache charging based on per-container share to prevent containers from using memory for free,enhancing memory *** EoD reduces unnecessary page cache evictions to avoid the performance *** evaluation results demonstrate that our system can effectively enhance memory isolation for containers and achieve substantial performance improvement over the original page cache management policy.

Excellent alkali resistance of Fe,Ce and sulfates co-modified V_(2)O_(5)-WO_(3)/TiO_(2) catalyst for selective catalytic reduction of NO_(x) with NH_(3)

Improving the alkali resistance of catalysts for selective catalytic reduction of NO_(x) with NH_(3) is still a *** this work,the co-modification with Fe,Ce and sulfates on V_(2)O_(5)-WO_(3)/TiO_(2) catalysts(denoted as xSFeCeVWTi) significantly enhances its alkali resistance with K element as a representative.A series of xSFeCeVWTi catalysts was synthesized by wet impregnation with designed 0.05Fe/V, 1.5Ce/V and different S/V molar ratios *** NO_(x) conversion and K resistance of xSFeCeVWTi catalysts increase with the increase of loading amounts of sulfates but no longer further increase as the sulfates load is excessive to block the pores of catalysts and hinder the adsorption of *** optimal modified catalyst in about 2.2S/V actual loading ratio,corresponding to 10.5SFeCeVWTi sample,shows over 99.0%NO_(x) conversion and N_(2) selectivity at 300-400℃ after *** interaction between Fe,Ce and V improves its redox ability but slightly weakens surface acidity,while the proper amount of sulfate species enriches surface Br?nsted acid sites but attenuates its redox ***,a balance of redox capacity and surface acidity,caused by Fe,Ce and sulfate co-modification,contributes to the excellent K resistance of 10.5SFeCeVWTi ***,the change of physicochemical properties influences the reaction mechanism which follows the Eley-Rideal mechanism on *** *** results show that the co-modification with Fe,Ce and sulfates is a good way to improve the alkali tolerance of V_(2)O_(5)-WO_(3)/TiO_(2) catalyst in industrial applications.

Changes of the peripapillary vascular parameters inpremature infants without retinopathy of prematurityusing U-net segmentation

AIM:To quantitatively assess the changes in mean vascular tortuosity(mVT)and mean vascular width(mVW)around the optic disc and their correlation with gestational age(GA)and birth weight(BW)in premature infants without retinopathy of prematurity(ROP).METHODS:A single-center retrospective study included a total of 133(133 eyes)premature infants[mean corrected gestational age(CGA)43.6wk]without ROP as the premature group and 130(130 eyes)CGA-matched fullterm infants as the control *** peripapillary mVT and mVW were quantitatively measured using computerassisted ***:Premature infants had significantly higher mVT(P=0.0032)and lower mVW(P=0.0086)by 2.68(10^(4) cm^(-3))and 1.85μm,*** analysis with GA showed significant differences(P=0.0244)in mVT between the early preterm and middle to late preterm groups,but the differences between mVW were not significant(P=0.6652).The results of the multiple linear regression model showed a significant negative correlation between GA and BW with mVT after adjusting sex and CGA(P=0.0211 and P=0.0006,respectively).For each day increase in GA at birth,mVT decreased by 0.1281(10^(4) cm^(-3))and for each 1 g increase in BW,mVT decreased by 0.006(10^(4) cm^(-3)).However,GA(P=0.9402)and BW(P=0.7275)were not significantly correlated with ***:Preterm birth significantly affects the peripapillary vascular parameters that indicate higher mVT and narrower mVW in premature infants without *** in these parameters may provide new insights into the pathogenesis of ocular vascular disease.

Tooth mineralization is a ubiquitous and tightly regulated process involving complicated interactions between dental epithelium and *** molecules in tooth mineralization remain poorly *** actin cross-linking factor 1(MACF1)is a spectraplakin protein that plays pivotal roles in the brain,muscle,lung,and bone developmental process.^(1-3) To study the specific functions of MACF1 in bone formation,we established Macf1 conditional knockout mice using the Cre-LoxP system driven by Osxterix promoter(Osx-Cre;Macf1^(f/f)).^(2) Not surprisingly,Osx-Cre;Macf1^(f/f) mice displayed the phenotypes of delayed ossification and decreased bone ***,the OsxCre;Macf1^(f/f) mice unexpectedly showed a white and opaque appearance of incisors,contrary to the normal yellowbrown and transparent *** Osxterix is expressed in dental mesenchyme during tooth development,the abnormal tooth appearance might imply a new function of MACF1 in odontoblasts,or even ***,the present study aimed to investigate the role of MACF1 during tooth development.

Answering reachability queries with ordered lab.l constraints over lab.led graphs

Reachability query plays a vital role in many graph analysis *** researches proposed many methods to efficiently answer reachability queries between vertex *** many real graphs are lab.led graph,it highly demands lab.l-Constrained Reachability(LCR)query inwhich constraint includes a set of lab.ls besides vertex *** researches proposed several methods for answering some LCR queries which require appearance of some lab.ls specified in constraints in the *** that constraint may be a lab.l set,query constraint may be ordered lab.ls,namely OLCR(Ordered-lab.l-Constrained Reachability)queries which retrieve paths matching a sequence of ***,no solutions are availab.e for ***,we propose DHL,a novel bloom filter based indexing technique for answering OLCR *** can be used to check reachability between vertex *** the answers are not no,then constrained DFS is ***,we employ DHL followed by performing constrained DFS to answer OLCR *** show that DHL has a bounded false positive rate,and it's powerful in saving indexing time and *** experiments on 10 real-life graphs and 12 synthetic graphs demonstrate that DHL achieves about 4.8-22.5 times smaller index space and 4.6-114 times less index construction time than two state-of-art techniques for LCR queries,while achieving comparable query response *** results also show that our algorithm can answer OLCR queries effectively.

Biopsy is the gold standard for tumor diagnosis,as this technology provides highly detailed and reliable information on tumorigenesis and *** the discrete wettability of desert beetles,in this study,a fluorescence polymerase chain reaction(F-PCR)microneedle array(MNA)platform is developed for efficient spatial tumor *** MNA is fabricated by the coupled strategies of bottom-up self-assembly and top-down photolithography;it comprises a hydrophobic silica nanoparticle-assembled substrate and graphene aerogel-hydrogel hybrid microneedle *** from the hydrophilicity and absorption capacity of its graphene hybrid microneedle peaks,MNA can easily penetrate tissue specimens and collect tumor nucleic acid biomarkers *** addition,because of the discrete wettability of the platform,both tissue fluids and PCR liquids can be easily removed from the substrate,and each microneedle peak is similar to an independent island for directly conducting F-PCR reactions for tumor marker *** on these advantages,the F-PCR-MNA platform is demonstrated to be ideal for detecting DNA biomarkers of lung carcinoma in standard solutions,mouse tissue samples,and clinical specimens,thus indicating its practical potential as an innovative tumor biopsy system.
