Liquid metal biomaterials: translational medicines,challenges and perspectives

Until now, significant healthcare challenges and growing urgent clinical requirements remain incompletely addressed by presently available biomedical materials. This is due to their inadequate mechanical compatibility, suboptimal physical and chemical properties, susceptibility to immune rejection, and concerns about long-term biological safety. As an alternative, liquid metal(LM) opens up a promising class of biomaterials with unique advantages like biocompatibility, flexibility, excellent electrical conductivity,and ease of functionalization. However, despite the unique advantages and successful explorations of LM in biomedical fields, widespread clinical translations and applications of LM-based medical products remain limited. This article summarizes the current status and future prospects of LM biomaterials, interprets their applications in healthcare, medical imaging, bone repair, nerve interface, and tumor therapy, *** to translate LM materials into medicine and obstacles encountered in practices are *** that, we outline a blueprint for LM clinics, emphasizing their potential in making new-generation artificial organs. Last, the core challenges of LM biomaterials in clinical translation, including bio-safety,material stability, and ethical concerns are also discussed. Overall, the current progress, translational medicine bottlenecks, and perspectives of LM biomaterials signify their immense potential to drive future medical breakthroughs and thus open up novel avenues for upcoming clinical practices.

Physical exercise and synaptic protection in human and pre-clinical models of multiple sclerosis

In multiple sclerosis,only immunomodulato ry and immunosuppressive drugs are recognized as disease-modifying *** r,in recent years,several data from pre-clinical and clinical studies suggested a possible role of physical exe rcise as disease-modifying therapy in multiple *** evidence is sparse and often conflicting,and the mechanisms underlying the neuroprotective and antinflammatory role of exercise in multiple sclerosis have not been fully ***,mainly derived from pre-clinical studies,suggest that exe rcise could enhance longterm potentiation and thus neuroplasticity,could reduce neuroinflammation and synaptopathy,and dampen astrogliosis and *** humans,most trials focused on direct clinical and MRI outcomes,as investigating synaptic,neuroinflammato ry,and pathological changes is not straightfo rward compared to animal *** present review analyzed current evidence and limitations in research concerning the potential disease-modifying therapy effects of exercise in multiple sclerosis in animal models and human studies.

Prostate cancer(PCa)is the second most common malignancy among men *** Fu-Zheng-Yi-Liu(FZYL)Formula has been widely utilized in the treatment of *** study investigates whether the FZYL Formula can inhibit PCa by tar-geting the TAMs/CCL5 *** conducted in vitro co-cultures and in vivo co-injections of PCa cells and TAMs to mimic their *** showed that the FZYL Formula significantly reduced the proliferation,colony formation,subpopulations of PCSCs,and sphere-formation efficacy of PCa cells,even in the presence of TAM ***,the Formula markedly decreased the migration,invasion,and epithelial-mesenchymal transition(EMT)of PCa cells induced by *** FZYL Formula also reversed M2 phenotype polarization in TAMs and dose-dependently reduced their CCL5 expression and secretion,with minimal cytotoxicity *** studies confirmed that the TAMs/CCL5 axis is a critical target of the FZYL Formula,as the addition of exogen-ous CCL5 partially reversed the formula’s inhibitory effects on PCSCs self-renewal in the co-culture ***,the Formula also significantly inhibited the growth of PCa xenografts,bone metastasis,and PCSCs activity in vivo by targeting the TAMs/CCL5 ***,this study not only elucidates the immunomodulatory mechanism of the FZYL Formula in PCa therapy but also highlights the TAMs/CCL5 axis as a promising therapeutic target.

Network Meta-analysis of the Clinical Efficacy and Safety of Kidney-Tonifying and Bone-Strengthening Therapies for the Treatment of Rheumatoid Arthritis with Kidney Deficiency Type

OBJECTIVE: To compare the efficacy and safety of different Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM)-based kidney-tonifying and bone-strengthening therapies for rheumatoid arthritis (RA).METHODS: The current Bayesian network Meta-analysis compared different TCM-based kidney-tonifying and bone-strengthening therapies for RA. Eight electronic databases and two trial registration platforms were searched. RevMan 5.4 and Stata 16 software were ***: A total of 42 studies involving 3779 cases were included. The results showed that the most effective intervention for improving efficacy was Wanbi decoction (顽痹汤); Bushen Quhan Zhiwang decoction (补肾祛寒治尪汤) was superior in reducing the incidence of adverse reactions; and Qiwei Tongbi oral liquid (七味通痹口服液) effectively reduced C-reactive protein and erythrocyte sedimentation rate ***: Combining TCMs with conventional Western medicine can improve the clinical efficacy of RA treatments， reduce inflammatory indexes， and result in a higher safety profile. However， this conclusion needs to be verified by more high-quality randomized controlled trials.
