BACKGROUND There are no studies on incidental anal ^18F-fluorodeoxyglucose(^18FDG)*** To assess the rate and aetiologies of incidental anal ^18FDG uptake and to evaluate the correlation between ^18FDG positron-emission tomography/computed tomography(PET/CT)parameters and the diagnosis of an anorectal *** The data from patients with incidental anal ^18FDG uptake were retrospectively *** who underwent anorectal examinations were identified and compared to those who did not undergo *** who were offered treatment were then identified and compared to those who did not receive *** Among the 43020^18FDG PET/CT scans performed,197^18FDG PET/CT scans of 146 patients(0.45%)reported incidental anal *** the 134 patients included,48(35.8%)patients underwent anorectal examinations,and anorectal diseases were diagnosed in 33(69.0%)of these patients and treated in ^18/48(37.5%)*** the examined patients,those with a pathology requiring treatment had significantly smaller metabolic volumes(MV)30 and MV41 values and higher maximal and mean standardized uptake value measurements than those who did not require *** incidental anal ^18FDG uptake is rare,but a reliable anorectal diagnosis is commonly obtained when an anorectal examination is *** diagnosis of an anorectal disease induces treatment in more than one-third of the *** data should encourage practitioners to explore incidental anal ^18FDG uptake systematically.

in this paper, i suggest that, even more than the state, capitalist enterprise is the most influential institution of neoliberalism, both for the effect it conveys in terms of management in public institutions （New Public Management） and its influence on the subjectivity of neoliberal individuals. However, one could stress, from the perspective of economic theory of the firm, the neoliberal transformations of the capitalist enterprises itself. Two transformations that are taking place from the 1980s seem particularly important. The first is the firm＇s transformation in a ＂nexus of contracts＂ as claimed by the agency theory of Jensen and Meckling that describe and enable the current financialization of the economy. The second is the trans- formation of organisations in a ＂nexus of skills＂ as claimed by the cognitive paradigm of the firm that apply to the company economic reasoning in terms of ＂human capital＂. i then examine the effects on neoliberal subjectivation of these two major changes, from the labour point of view. First, the neoliberal subject imagines, describes and manages itself as the subject of investment in ＂human capital＂. Second, the disappearance of traditional employment contract corresponds to the emergence and intensification of another form of contract, the ＂psychological contract＂, which tends to become a major form of relationship-employed but also a model for relationships between individuals. Finally, lifelong learning is becoming the major form of empowerment of employees, but also a ＂lifestyle＂ based on the apprecia6on of one＇s own human capital and the infinite task of perfecting oneself to match up our ＂skills portfolio＂ with the labour market. These transformations of neoliberal subjectivity have costs that can be summarised by the widespread phe- nomena of burn out, but also the birth of a new form of racism, based on ＂quality＂ of human capital （skills, abilities, capabilities）.

Natural sunlight activated persistent luminescence(PeL)is ideal candidate for optical information display in outdoors without the requirement of electric *** the brightness and duration,the stability especially water resistance of the PeL materials is of significant importance for practical application,which remains a great obstacle up to ***,we report a new sunlight activated PeL glass ceramic containing hexagonal Sr_(13)Al_(22)Si_(10)O_(66):Eu^(2+)crystals,which exhibits strong blue PeL and can last more than 200 *** PeL can be charged by the full wavelengths located in AM 1.5G due to the broad distribution of traps in the crystal *** PeL is clearly observed by the naked eye even after 24 h upon sunlight irradiation irrespective of the weather,and the photoluminescence intensity only decreased~3.3%after storing in water for 365 *** demonstrate its potential application for thermal and stress responsive display as well as long-term continuous security indication upon sunlight irradiation,which not only save vast energy and reduce environment pollution,but also are appropriate for outdoor usage.

Global significance of oxygen and carbon isotope compositions of pedogenic carbonates since the Cretaceous

Few global syntheses of oxygen and carbon isotope composition of pedogenic carbonates have been attempted,unlike marine *** carbonates represent in-situ indicators of the climate conditions prevailing on *** δ^(18)O and δ^(13)C values of pedogenic carbonates are controlled by local and global factors,many of them not affecting the marine carbonates largely used to probe global climate *** compile pedogenic oxygen and carbon isotopic data(N=12,167)fromCretaceous to Quaternary-aged paleosols to identify potential trends through time and tie them to possible controlling *** discrete events such as the Paleocene-Eocene Thermal Maximum are clearly evidenced,our analysis reveals an increasing complexity in the distribution of the δ^(18)O vs δ^(13)C values through the *** could be expected,the rise of C4 plants induces a shift towards higherδ13C values during the Neogene and *** also show that the increase in global hypsometry during the Neogene plays a major role in controlling the δ^(18)O and δ^(13)C values of pedogenic carbonates by increasing aridity downwind of orographic ***,during the Quaternary,an increase of 3‰in δ^(18)O values is recorded both by the pedogenic carbonates and the marine foraminifera suggesting that both indicators may be used to track global climate signal.

Flight is a key feature of the reproduction and dispersal of emerging aquatic ***,morphological measurements of insect fight are mostly available for terrestrial taxa and dragonfies,while aquatic insects have been poorly *** analyzed 7 fight-related morphological parameters of 32 taxa belonging to 5 orders of emerging aquatic insects(Ephemeroptera,Trichoptera,Plecoptera,Diptera,and Megaloptera)with different life history traits related to fight(dispersal strategy,voltinism,adult lifespan,and swarming behavior).After correcting for allometry,we used an a priori-free approach to cluster the individuals according to their fight-related ***,we explored the levels of agreement between these clusters,taxonomy,and several life history traits of the *** orders were scattered among several clusters,suggesting a large range of fight capacities,particularly for *** found swarming taxa in each cluster,showing that morphological adaptations to swarming are not identical in all aquatic *** clusters did not match the expected dispersal capacity of the taxa as derived from the literature or *** wide-winged insects notably gathered taxa traditionally described as good or weak *** capacities based on morphology partly matched with the taxonomy and life-history traits of aquatic insect *** parameters such as fight propensity,energy stores,and wing kinematics should help refne their fying and dispersal capacity.

A fungal consortium including Aspergillus niger, Mucor hiemalis and Galactomyces geotrichum was tested for the treatment of dairy wastewater. The bio-augmentation method was tested at lab-scale （4 L）, at pilot scale （110 L） and at an industrial scale in Wastewater Treatment Plants （WWTP）. The positive impact of fungal addition was confirmed when fungi was beforehand accelerated by pre-culture on whey （5 g/L lactose） or on the dairy effluent. indeed, chemical oxygen demand （COD） removal yields increased from 55% to 75% for model medium, diluted milk. While after inoculation of an industrial biological tank from a dairy factory with the fungal consortium accelerated by pre-cultivation in a 1000 L pilot plant, the outlet COD values decreased from values above the standard one （100 mg/L） to values in the range of 50-70 mg/L. in addition, there was a clear impact of fungal addition on the ＇hard＇ or non-biodegradable COD owing to the significant reduction of the increase of the COD on BOD 5 ratio between the inlet and the outlet of the biological tank of WWTP. it was in the range of 451%-1111% before adding fungal consortium, and in the range of 257%-153% after bio-augmentation with fungi. An inoculated bioreactor with fungal consortium was developed at lab-scale and demonstrated successfully at pilot scale in WWTP.

Systemic chemotherapy for hepatocellular carcinoma in non-cirrhotic liver:A retrospective study

AiM:To investigate the efficacy and toxicity of systemic chemotherapy in a retrospective study of patients with hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)occurring in normal or fibrotic liver without cirrhosis. METHODS:Twenty-four patients with metastatic or locally advanced HCC in a normal or a fibrotic liver were given systemic chemotherapy(epirubicin,cis- platin and 5-fluorouracil or epirubicin,cisplatin and capecitabine regimens).Tumor response,time to pro- gression,survival,and toxicity were evaluated. RESULTS:There were 7 women and 17 men,mean age 54±10 years;18 patients had a normal liver and 6 had a fibrotic liver(F1/F2 on biopsy).Mean tumor size was 14 cm,5 patients had portal vein thrombosis and 7 had *** received a median of 4 chemotherapy *** tolerance was good. There were 5 partial responses(objective response rate =22%),and tumor control rate was 52%.Second line surgical resection was possible in two *** survival was 11 mo,and 1-and 2-year overall survival rates were 50%±10%and 32%±11%,respectively. CONCLUSiON:in patients with HCC in a non-cirrhotic liver,chemotherapy was well tolerated and associated with an objective response rate of 22%,including two patients who underwent secondary surgical resection.
